Abstract:
MiniZinc is a solver agnostic modeling language for defining and solver combinatorial satisfaction and optimization problems. MiniZinc provides a solver independent modeling language which is now supported by constraint programming solvers, mixed integer programming solvers, SAT and SAT modulo theory solvers, and hybrid solvers. Since 2008 we have run the MiniZinc challenge every year, which compares and contrasts the different strengths of different solvers and solving technologies on a set of MiniZinc models. Here we report on what we have learnt from running the competition for 6 years.

Abstract:
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) was first suggested (in a documented way) in 1983 (S. Myers and W. Schnell, Preliminary performance estimates for a LEP proton collider, LEP Note 440, April 1983) as a possible future hadron collider to be installed in the 27 km "LEP" tunnel. More than 30 years later the collider has been operated successfully with beam for three years with spectacular performance and has discovered the long-sought-after Higgs boson. The LHC is the world's largest and most energetic particle collider. It took many years to plan and build this large complex machine which promises exciting, new physics results for many years to come. I describe the LHC design objectives, review some of the more relevant beam effects, define the major accelerator components and parameters, and finally give an overview of the commissioning and operational performance since the initial turn on of the collider. The latter will include the major accident which took place in September 2008 and the subsequent repair and redesign of the faulty components. The first attempt to circulate beam in the LHC in September 2008 were initially very successful. However, after only nine days of preliminary beam commissioning, on 19 September 2008, disaster struck: the last octant was being ramped up in preparation for high energy operation when a magnet interconnect failed and the enormous energy stored in the superconducting magnets was released in an uncontrolled way and damaged around 600 m of the LHC installed equipment. The next 14 months were crucial for the machine. A crash programme for the repair of the damaged sector was initiated as well as in depth studies to understand the cause of the failure and make design changes which would ensure that such an accident could never reoccur in the future. In this paper, the story of the four years of the intensive activity since the accident is described starting with the repair of the damaged area and followed by the three very successful years of beam operation.

Abstract:
Objective: To identify the prevalence, clinical features and postoperative outcome of patients with spinal tuberculosis at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, in Jalisco, Mexico from 2008 to 2013. Methods: Prevalence study of patients undergoing spine surgery due to tuberculosis. Clinical, surgical pre- and postoperative parameters were evaluated by analysis of 41 medical records. Results: Seventeen (41.4%) were women and 24 (58.6%) were men with a mean age of 47.7 years. The main diagnoses were tuberculous spondylitis in 14 (34.1%) patients; discitis in 13 (31.7%); infectious spondylitis in 9 (21.9%); chronic spondylitis in four (9.7%); abscess in one patient (2.4%). Only 22% of patients were positive for epidemiological study of tuberculosis contacts. The most affected region was the lumbar spine followed by the thoracic spine and the most affected vertebrae were L3-L4. The most used surgical instrumentation was by posterior approach with drainage on 29 occasions, anterior approach with drainage in nine, and the mixed approach in three. Twenty-nine patients were independent to perform daily activities after discharge. Conclusion: The discitis or infectious spondylodiscitis should be considered in any patient with localized pain at any level of the spine. Once solved the problem of infection and stability, patients respond favorably to the surgical procedure.

Abstract:
This dissertation contains seven works from the last 5 years, from solo works to large ensemble, as well as works with electronics. Composing for me is the result of an imaginative attitude, an alert intuition and a suitable use of technique. It originates from reality, followed by singling out one or more musical ideas, and ends up, as Gustav Mahler puts it, in "building a new world with every available technical means." What drives my compositional interests, and represents the core of the works presented here, is the desire to shape and reify these musical worlds. I strive to find and detail the qualities of these worlds through an approach to composition that is based on "sculpting" gestures, figures and colors, contextualized in a form that is as controlled and thoughtful as possible. I also pursue a distinctive vision of the relationship between microtonal and tempered harmony, mixing the two in a harmonic domain that produces an extremely attractive and worth exploring musical ambiguity, enriched by a systematic approach to timbre. This dissertation offers different examples on this exploration, where musical parameters from an ever-changing palette as well as extra-musical element such as visual arts and literature contribute in offering an image of the gradual unfolding of my "voice," a search that is the core of my daily composing and represents a never-ending process. N.B. One of the works, Winds, is a solo electronic multi-channel soundfile, and a paper version of the works does not exist and cannot be included.<br>Music

Diploma thesis deals with analysis of income and expenditure aspect of state budget, deficit and public debt during 2008-2013 period, following Global financial and economic crisis and its induced governmental countermeasures. It then explains Goal oriented budgeting implementation process into Ministry of defense for the same period. The first chapter is dedicated to explaining theoretical background of budgeting process and enumeration of basic budgeting methods. The second part deals with state budget, concrete income and expense analysis including state deficit and public debt. The last chapter describes Goal oriented budgeting implementation process into Ministry of defense and evaluation of its basic problems. The conclusion of the thesis combines the acquired knowledge and sets conclusions and recommendations.

However, in recent years, the question got more importance and issues related to this subject began to gain more prominence, including in the media (for example, the military Gripen fighter aircraft purchase). The institutionalization of defense in Brazil had important milestones since the creation of the Ministry of Defense (MD) in 1999, through the elaboration of National Defense Policy (PND) in 2005, the National Defense Strategy (END) in 2008 and, finally, National Defense White Paper (LBDN) in 2012. Civil-military relations are grounded by visions often distinct about defense, but greater convergence is needed in achieving shared understanding. However, there is still a long way to be traversed until the society is able to understand and gets more involved with such relevant topic of national interest. The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree of implementation of the National Defense Strategy policies and to evaluate the factors that influenced the actions that were proposed for its execution.<br>O debate sobre defesa no Brasil ainda fica aquém de sua importância estratégica para o país. Entretanto, nos anos recentes, a questão passou a ganhar maior relevância e assuntos relacionados ao tema começam a ganhar mais destaque, inclusive na mídia (compra dos caças Gripen, por exemplo). A institucionalização da Defesa no Brasil teve importantes marcos desde a criação do Ministério da Defesa (MD) em 1999, passando pela elaboração da Política Nacional de Defesa (PND) em 2005, da Estratégia Nacional de Defesa (END) em 2008 e, finalmente, do Livro Branco de Defesa Nacional (LBDN) em 2012. As relações civis militares são pautadas por visões muitas vezes distintas sobre a Defesa, é preciso que haja uma maior convergência nesse entendimento. Entretanto, ainda há um longo caminho a ser percorrido para que a sociedade compreenda e tenha um maior envolvimento com tema tão relevante de interesse nacional. O presente estudo objetiva analisar o grau de implementação das diretrizes da Estratégia Nacional de Defesa (END) e avaliar os motivos que impactaram nas ações propostas para sua efetivação.

En la economía argentina, con la devaluación de la moneda, se generó un tipo de cambio competitivo que le permitió durante estos últimos 10 años mantener su superávit en la balanza comercial. Sin embargo, es relevante resaltar que las importaciones crecieron a lo largo del período a un ritmo cada vez mayor que las exportaciones, permitiendo a los analistas económicos vislumbrar una clara tendencia, que de no verse afectada, pondría en riesgo el superávit del sector externo. Ante este problema el gobierno intervino fundamentalmente con medidas comerciales a los fines de resguardar la integridad de la balanza comercial, debido a que es la principal fuente de ingresos de divisas en el país. Se entiende por importación, el transporte legítimo de bienes y servicios nacionales exportados por un país, pretendidos para el uso o consumo interno de otro país. Puede ser cualquier producto o servicio recibido dentro de la frontera de un Estado con propósitos comerciales. Se define una exportación como cualquier bien o servicio enviado a otra parte del mundo con propósitos comerciales. La exportación es el tráfico legítimo de bienes y/o servicios nacionales de un país pretendidos para su uso o consumo en el extranjero. Las exportaciones pueden ser cualquier producto enviado fuera de la frontera de un Estado. Y por último se detalla la balanza comercial, como el valor monetario de los bienes exportados menos los bienes importados, y por lo tanto se considera positiva cuando las exportaciones superan a las importaciones, y negativa cuando se importa más de los que se exporta.<br>Fil: González, María Cielo. Abstract:
Financial crisis of 2008 became critical period for Swedish economy and its real estate market. During this period Sweden has experienced sharp decrease in transaction volumes. However compare to other EU and global markets, Sweden managed to perform remarkably well and economic recovery has taken place since 2010. The purpose of this master thesis is to outline general trends in the development of Swedish Real Estate market for FDI in the period of 2008-2013 and provide better understanding of foreign investors behavior and the incentives attracted them to invest in Sweden. The deductive approach has been used based on the previous studies and theory. The quantitative data was obtained from scientific and media sources, while qualitative empirical data relies on survey filled in by real estate consultancy companies operating on Swedish market. Research focuses on the analysis of overall market situation and changes occurred during the 5-year period concerning micro/macro economical issues, behavioral factors, country characteristics, business environment, global trends, investors’ behavior and expectations. Theoretical basis for the research is an overview of previous FDI theories. The results reveal that by the end of 5 year period, the situation on the market became much more favorable with strong recovery as for the end of 2013. Compare to after crisis 2009, when foreign transactions volumes were down to 45 bn sek versus 157 bn sek in 2008, the full year transaction volume 2013 was SEK 99 bn which is in line with 15 year historic average. In 2013 international investment share is amounted to 12%, the most active are institutional investors from Norway, Finland, UK, Germany and US. Overall foreign investors are willing to operate on Swedish market in the future, searching for high yields at low risk levels within safe, transparent and liquid, highly developed business environment with good economical and politically stable regimes. However difficulties with accessing finance and lack of prime quality assets on the market became the main drawbacks for foreign investors on the Swedish market during last years.

As fotografias de pessoas com deficiência figuram entre essas possibilidades, revelando as transformações do significado da deficiência no contexto histórico-cultural. Tendo em vista que poucos estudos tratam de modo crítico e emancipador da relação mídia e deficiência, esta dissertação analisa as significações sobre a deficiência estampadas nas capas da Revista Sentidos - uma revista de segmento de e para a deficiência. A partir do enfoque do modelo social da deficiência, foi possível avaliar as tensões e sobreposições entre os significados da deficiência presentes na revista e sua relação com as transformações sociais que incidem sobre esse grupo social.<br><br>Abstract: The profusion of photography images in a contemporary world reveals a vast spectrum of the possibility to signify the human condition. The photographs of people with disabilities are included in these possibilities, revealing transformations of the significance of the disability in the cultural history context. Having a vision that few studies treat with critical and emancipator way the relationship media and disability, this dissertation analyzes the meanings about disability stamped on the covers of Sentidos Magazine - a magazine with segment of and for disabilities. Starting from the social model approach of disability it was possible to assess the tensions and overlaps between the meanings of disabilities present in the magazine and its relation to the social transformations that focus on ease of this social group.

Abstract:
Gender-based Violence (GBV) has emerged as a major issue on the international human rights agenda and a major public health challenge throughout the world. A large proportion of the violence committed against women is perpetrated by their intimate partners. According to the World Health Organization’s Multi-country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence, it is estimated that approximately 10% to 60% of married women have experienced physical intimate-partner violence during their lifetimes (Garcia-Moreno, Jansen, Ellsberg, Heise and Watts, 2006). Once the extent of GBV in South Africa was realised interventions were put in place to address the issue and the Domestic Violence Act No 116 of 1998 (DVA) was instituted by the South African government, aimed at protecting and combating violence against women. The notion of ending GBV was also acknowledged by the late former South African president, Nelson Mandela (Nelson Mandela’s first State of the Nation Address in Parliament in Cape Town, South Africa, 24 May 1994) said: “Freedom cannot be achieved unless the women have been emancipated from all forms of oppression." (www.ehow.com, first accessed 9 August, 2013). People Opposing Woman Abuse (POWA), a Johannesburg-based non-governmental organization (NGO), initiated interventions to address GBV. POWA offers services to women in South Africa (SA) who have experienced domestic violence, sexual harassment or rape and other forms of violence, by aiming to creating a safe society where women are powerful, self –reliant and respected. Driven by the need to create a collective space through which women could share their stories of surviving GBV, POWA established the Women’s Writing Project (WPP) in 2005. The project publishes annual anthologies with specific themes for a particular year, giving women survivors a platform and opportunity to tell their stories as an important part of the healing process. Though the first anthology was published in 2005, this thesis only provides an analysis of the POWA WWP anthologies from 2008-2013. The notion that narratives can be used as therapeutic tools had prompted the researcher to use existing narratives as a basis to investigate GBV. The study is a qualitative, interpretive study, using content analysis as a method and working within the framework of the Ecological model (1999:18) which talks about the multi-faceted nature of GBV. A total of 65 English narratives, 13 per anthology, by survivors of GBV were used and common themes that emerged were identified to obtain accounts of these selected women’s perceptions, experiences and articulations on GBV. Informed by a theoretical framework consisting of Heise, Ellsberg and Gottemoeller’s Ecological model (1999:18), the USAID GBV Life cycle model (2009:15) and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) GBV health effects document (2005:23), the researcher extracted the main overarching themes which emerged from the women’s narratives. Drawing on the study’s content analysis methodology and the subsequent emerging main narrative themes, the researcher could draw certain conclusions about general similarities in the experiences and perceptions about GBV of the women who participated in POWA’s Johannesburg-based five-year Women’s Writing Project (2008-2013). The most salient of these conclusions are that the following issues are major factors contributing to GBV in the specific sample group, and by assumption also among the larger population that it represents: alcohol abuse and the absence of mother figures. Conclusions about the effects of GBV include that most women suffer from psychological health effects due to GBV experiences. Based on the selected narratives in this study the researcher could conclude that self-narrative storytelling and the recounting of traumatic experiences had therapeutic potential in the treatment and recovery of survivors of GBV. Many of the narrators said that structured self-narration and the publication of their stories had helped to construct a recovery support system not only for themselves but also for those who are possibly still suffering from the consequences of violence. In this way survivors of GBV can therapeutically construct new identities for themselves, which transcend their abuse and thereby actively participate in the construction of meaning in their lives.

Trabajo de suficiencia profesional<br>En la presente investigación se presenta una consolidación de información proveniente de diversas fuentes con el único objetivo de brindar conocimiento especializado acerca del tema de vivienda el cual está en pleno surgimiento. El dinamismo que viene exhibiendo el mercado inmobiliario continúa llamando la atención de las autoridades económicas. La preocupación viene por el rápido crecimiento de los créditos hipotecarios, lo que podría elevar la carga financiera de las familias, además de la posibilidad de que eventualmente los precios se desalineen significativamente de su nivel asociado a factores fundamentales. Hacia adelante, existen varios indicios que anticipan una moderación del ritmo de aumento del precio del metro cuadrado. Los precios suben por especulación y por la ley de oferta y demanda que existe en el mercado inmobiliario, lo bueno es que debido a la existencia de nueva tecnologías e importaciones generan costos bajos en los acabados, así como una mayor regulación en el financiamiento, este escenario hace que el precio suba pero no desenfrenadamente a diferencia del crecimiento exponencial vivido a los últimos años.

Na capital do estado, Teresina, o aborto é uma das principais causas de mortes. Este trabalho objetiva analisar as mortes maternas de adolescentes residentes no Piauí e conhecer as histórias daquelas que morreram por aborto clandestino, no período de 2008 a 2013. A primeira etapa do estudo é descritiva, de natureza quantitativa, com dados extraídos do Sistema de Informação sobre Estatísticas Vitais da Secretaria Estadual de Saúde do Piauí. Nessa fase, estabeleceram-se a magnitude das mortes na adolescência, os dados sociodemográficos das falecidas, as principais causas das mortes e as características das investigações do óbito materno. Na segunda etapa, qualitativa, a mãe, irmã, amiga ou a sogra foram entrevistadas. Das 290 mortes maternas, 50 estavam no período da adolescência, o que representou 17,2% do total de óbitos maternos, sendo a razão de mortalidade materna igual a 97,3 e a razão de mortalidade materna específica igual a 76,1 mortes por 100.000 nascidos vivos. As adolescentes que tiveram morte materna eram negras em sua maioria (70,5%), primigestas (52,9%), com 1 a 7 anos de estudos (35,3%) e residentes no interior (78,4%). As mortes foram ocasionadas por transtornos hipertensivos (28%), infecção puerperal (16%), hemorragia (12%), tromboembolismo (12%) e aborto (10%). A investigação do óbito não ocorreu em 26% das mortes e, quando ocorreu, houve atraso em 52,7% dos casos, sendo a entrevista domiciliar (38,8%) a fonte principal da investigação. As entrevistas mostraram que sangramento abundante e dores pélvicas intensas provocaram a busca por atendimento hospitalar nos casos das adolescentes que induziram o aborto usando, em geral, o misoprostol. Houve pouca valorização clínica de sinais e retardo no reconhecimento diagnóstico, pelos médicos, das complicações do aborto, o que contribuiu para as mortes das adolescentes. A morte materna na adolescência no estado do Piauí é grave problema de saúde pública, ocasionado, em sua maioria, por condições evitáveis, como as complicações dos transtornos hipertensivos, das infecções e do aborto. As mortes maternas de adolescentes encontram-se em cenário que pede urgência na atenção aos direitos humanos, já que existe subtração de atendimento qualificado para essa população.<br>The maternal mortality rate in the state of Piauí is among the highest ones in Brazil, abortion being amongst the main causes of death in the capital, Teresina. This paper aims at analyzing the maternal deaths of teenagers who live in Piauí and knowing the stories of those who died due to clandestine abortion in the period between 2008 and 2013. The first stage of this study is descriptive, of quantitative nature, and its data was extracted from the Information System about Vital Statistics from the State Health Office of Piauí. We established the magnitude of the deaths in adolescence, the socio-demographic data of the deceased, the main causes of death and the characteristics of the maternal death investigations. On the second stage, the qualitative one, mothers, sisters, friends and mothers-in-law of the deceased were interviewed. The deaths of the teenagers represent 17,2% of all maternal deaths, being the rate of maternal death 97,3 and the rate of specific maternal death 76,1 deaths out of 100.000 live births. The teenagers who died were black (70,5%), primigravida (52,9%), with 1 to 7 years of regular studies (35,3%) and countryside resident (78,4%). Their deaths were caused by hypertensive troubles (28%), puerperal infections (16%), hemorrhage (12%), thromboembolism (12%) and abortion (10%). The investigations of their deaths did not happen in 26% of the cases and when it did happen there was a delay in 52,7% of them, being the home-interview the main source of investigation (38,8%). The interviews have shown that heavy bleeding and pelvic pain were the main reasons to look for medical assistance by the part of the teenagers who induced abortion generally using misoprostol. There was a lack of attention to the signs and a delay in the diagnostic recognition by the part of the doctors involved about the complications due to abortion that contributed to the deaths of the teenagers. Maternal death in adolescence is a serious problem for the public health in the state of Piauí and in most times it is caused by preventable conditions such as the complications of hypertensive, problems infections and abortion. Maternal death in adolescence is in such a frame that requires urgent attention to human rights since there is a subtraction of qualified medical assistance to these sections of the population.<br>La mortalidad materna en Piauí está entre las más elevadas de Brasil. Enla capital del estado, Teresina, el aborto es una de lasprincipales causas de muertes. Este trabajo objetiva analizarlasmuertes maternas de adolescentes residentes en Piauí y conocerlas historias de aquellas que murieron por aborto clandestino, enel período entre 2008 y 2013. Abstract:
En la presente investigación se presenta una consolidación de información proveniente de diversas fuentes con el único objetivo de brindar conocimiento especializado acerca del tema de vivienda el cual está en pleno surgimiento. El dinamismo que viene exhibiendo el mercado inmobiliario continúa llamando la atención de las autoridades económicas. La preocupación viene por el rápido crecimiento de los créditos hipotecarios, lo que podría elevar la carga financiera de las familias, además de la posibilidad de que eventualmente los precios se desalineen significativamente de su nivel asociado a factores fundamentales. Hacia adelante, existen varios indicios que anticipan una moderación del ritmo de aumento del precio del metro cuadrado. Los precios suben por especulación y por la ley de oferta y demanda que existe en el mercado inmobiliario, lo bueno es que debido a la existencia de nueva tecnologías e importaciones generan costos bajos en los acabados, así como una mayor regulación en el financiamiento, este escenario hace que el precio suba pero no desenfrenadamente a diferencia del crecimiento exponencial vivido a los últimos años.

Abstract:
Los accidentes con víctimas ciclistas han sufrido un continuo ascenso en los últimos años. A fin de conocer cuáles son las características tanto del ciclista implicado en un accidente, como de las circunstancias en las que éste se ha producido, se ha realizado un estudio en el que se analiza la siniestralidad de los ciclistas registrada en España en el período comprendido entre 2008 a 2013. La investigación se ha realizado a partir de la base de datos de accidentes oficial de la Dirección General de Tráfico (base ARENA). En total se han analizado 25.439 accidentes con ciclistas implicados y 24.520 víctimas ciclistas. Los principales resultados de este estudio muestran que el número de accidentes de tráfico con ciclistas implicados, así como el número de ciclistas víctimas de accidentes, ha sufrido un ascenso continuado. Es en zona urbana donde se registran la mayoría de estos accidentes y víctimas, aunque los fallecimientos se producen en su mayoría en vías interurbanas (78,3%). El factor concurrente más habitual en los accidentes de los ciclistas ha sido la distracción (89,3%) mientras que el tipo de accidente más frecuente en el que se ven implicados es la colisión frontal/frontolateral (40,9%). El perfil de la víctima ciclista es hombre (84’2%), de 37,07 años y de nacionalidad española (83,6%). Vistos estos resultados, un análisis exhaustivo de la accidentalidad del ciclista es clave para evaluar su evolución y los factores que influyen en ella, de modo que se consiga aumentar la seguridad para este tipo de transporte.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/CIT2016.2016.3433
