Abstract:
BackgroundPD-L1 is expressed on both tumor and immune cells; however, the mechanism by which PD-L1 modulates the adaptive immune response on tumor versus immune cells may differ. Additionally, the prevalence of PD-L1 expression and the partitioning between tumor and immune compartments varies by tumor type. While PD-L1 expression on tumor or immune cells can be scored separately, the PD-L1 combined positive score (CPS) captures both tumor and immune cell expression in one aggregate score. We performed a retrospective, exploratory analysis of the effectiveness of CPS as an enrichment biomarker

Abstract:
Two white bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars grown for 2 yr on test plots of a long-term fertilizer trial showed a significant response to nitrate in the first year and in the 2 yr combined but not in the second year on its own. Yield in the second year was about half of that in the first year, possibly because of water stress. Bean yield was lowest in the zero nitrate, about equally high for 112 and 224 kg N ha−1, but somewhat lower at 336 kg N ha−1. Annual application of potassium and phosphorus (compared to no application for 12 yr) did not affect bean yield, but increased plant dry wei

Abstract:
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can target messenger RNAs to control their degradation or translation repression effects. Therefore, identifying the target and binding sites of different miRNAs is essential for understanding miRNA functions. To investigate these interactions, researchers have employed the cross-linking, ligation, and sequencing of hybrids (CLASH-seq) and similar CLASH-like approaches to generate chimeric reads formed by miRNAs and their targeting segments. These chimeric reads allow for the direct extraction of both the miRNA–target gene pairs and their corresponding binding sites

Abstract:
We propose a method based on coherence maximisation based on Thagard's theory of coherence to model rational behaviour. We show that the traditional analysis of behaviour based on utility functions can be emulated using our approach and prove that the maximum element of a preference ordering is the same as that found by coherence maximisation over an automatically generated coherence graph. In addition, it is easy and natural to model the dynamism and uncertainty of the beliefs of a rational agent with this approach. We illustrate the theorem by modelling the prisoner's dilemma.
