This thesis provides a new analysis of late medieval personal devotion to angels in England, built upon freshly compiled primary evidence. This evidence consists of devotional material collected from a large sample of fifteenth-century Latin manuscript Books of Hours either produced in England or produced elsewhere for the English market. This thesis fills a gap in knowledge by systematically identifying ways in which Julian of Norwich’s 'Revelations of Love' and William Langland’s 'Piers Plowman' were influenced by the biblical Apocalypse and exegetical writings. The one-to-one encounter practised in ministry time was the third part of the threefold structure in a Wimber Vineyard event. This thesis examines the perceived incompatibility of incorporating feminist values into the hard-boiled detective novel. Critical responses to this crime form have argued that it endorses a formulaic, misogynistic violence. My argument is that this is a literature that offers women writers the means to express female agency and empowerment, through a genre that changes to fulfil current social needs. The work detailed in this study describes the design of a rapid scanning multiwavelength reflectance spectrophotometer and its application to the measurement of cutaneous pigments. In this instrument the radiation from a 6V, 20 W quartz halogen lamp is transmitted to the reflectance probe by fibre optics and illuminates the skin surface perpendicularly. Richard May, an African-American field hand, had been incarcerated for the alleged sexual assault of a local farmer’s daughter. "Tristar" is a new forage cultivar that requires - 120 days to produce mature seed in western Canada where only - 100 frost-free days are available. A single-phase, buck-boost based, dual-output AC-DC converter is studied in this thesis. The converter has two DC outputs with opposite polarities, which share the same ground with the input power line. The power stage performance, including the input filter, is studied and procedure to select power components is given. The circuit model is analyzed to develop appropriate control. Zerocrossing distortion of the source input current is addressed and a solution is proposed. Experimental results are satisfactory in that a high power factor line current results for steady-state operation.
