Abstract Introduction Vitamin D is known to have immunomodulatory functions and has action on chronic inflammatory processes, such as nasal polyposis. Objective The present study assessed the levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in patients with nasal polyposis, as compared with healthy control subjects, and identified their association with disease severity in nasal polyposis. It further assessed the levels of 25-hydroxyl vitamin D and hs-CRP in patients with nasal polyposis and atopy and compared it with patients with nasal polyposis without atopy.

Abstract:
Apparent heat capacities have been measured for fifteen branched and cyclic alcohols in dilute n-decane solution at 25 °C. The alcohols were 2-methyl-2-propanol, cyclohexanol, 3-methyl-3-pentanol, trans-, cis-, and mixed isomer 2-methylcyclohexanol, 1-methylcyclohexanol, 3-ethyl-3-pentanol, cyclooctanol, 3,7-dimethyl-1-octanol, 5-decanol, 4-propyl-4-heptanol, cyclododecanol, 5-butyl-5-nonanol, and 8-hexadecanol (in n-hexane). Excess heat capacities CpE throughout the concentration range were measured at 25 °C for: 1-hexanol + n-hexadecane (n-C16) and + 2,2,4,4,6,8,8-heptamethylnonane (br-C16),

Polyphenolic chemicals found in tea leaves are frequently used in pharmaceutics and the food industry. Catechin is a polyphenol that has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antibacterial effects, as well as other health advantages. The goal of this study was to create a catechin-encapsulated alginate hydrogel (Cate-ALG) that would protect catechin from degradation and bioactivity loss in stressful environments while also delivering catechin. The antioxidant ability of catechin was found to be greater than that of vitamin C using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-pierylhyrazyl assay. The FT-IR spectra revealed th
