Die Leipziger Stadtbibliothek wurde mit der Stiftung des Advokaten und Finanzbeamten Huldreich Groß gegründet. Er hinterließ nach seinem Tode 1677 der Bibliothek ca. 4.000 Bücherschätze. Sie wurden zum Nutzen der studierenden Stadtjugend und der Öffentlichkeit 1711 zugänglich gemacht. Nach mehreren Umzügen und zwischenzeitlicher Schließung der Stadtbibliothek wurde 1991 durch engagierte Leipziger Bürger die Wiedereröffnung im Alten Grassimuseum möglich gemacht.

In this thesis I explore what consequences taking development seriously in evolutionary considerations will have for how we understand the evolution of psychology and culture. I first explicate the relationship between development and evolution that informs a number of approaches to evolution, including neo-Darwinian evolutionary biology and evolutionary developmental biology.
