To compare the observer performance 0f liquid crystal display (LCO) and cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors in detecting experimentally induced pulmonary edema in pigs by using soft-copy images of amorphous selenium-based flat-panel-detector radiography (OR) and storage phosphor computed radiography (CR). Oleic acid was injected intra-atrially into three pigs (weight, 20-25kg) at doses of 0.04, 0.05, and 0.06 ml/kg to induce pulmonary edema. Each set of CR, DR, and thin-section CT scans were obtained every 20-30 minutes from three pigs over 4-6hours. Thus, 37 sets (10 sets from pig-1, 11 sets from

Aims, Objectives and BackgroundThere is evidence that COVID-19 ‘lockdowns’ may have contributed to increased non-accidental injury, domestic violence and self-harm related to deteriorating mental health. Internationally, there is also evidence that the diversion of health care resources may led to worse outcomes for patients presenting with major trauma. There has been no previous national evaluation of ‘lockdown’ measures impact on the characteristics, treatment pathways and outcomes of trauma patients in EnglandWe aimed to assess the impact of successive lockdowns on the volume, demographics

Abstract:
White clover ( Trifolium repens L.) is a forage legume widely used in combination with grass in pastures because of its ability to fix nitrogen. We have constructed a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library of an advanced breeding line of white clover. The library contains 37 248 clones with an average insert size of approximately 85 kb, representing an approximate 3-fold coverage of the white clover genome based on an estimated genome size of 960 Mb. The BAC library was pooled and screened by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification using both white clover microsatellites and PCR-b

Abstract To design a simple and reproducible classifier predicting the overall survival (OS) of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) ≥60 years of age treated with 7 + 3, we sequenced 37 genes in 471 patients from the ALFA1200 (Acute Leukemia French Association) study (median age, 68 years). Mutation patterns and OS differed between the 84 patients with poor-risk cytogenetics and the 387 patients with good (n = 13), intermediate (n = 339), or unmeasured (n = 35) cytogenetic risk. Abstract Background: Biomarker-driven trials have led to multiple FDA tissue-agnostic approvals. We aimed to explore the clinic-genomic landscape of alterations currently actionable by tissue-agnostic targeted therapies. Methods: We mined AACR Project GENIE to extract data about three molecular targets currently on the list of FDA tissue-agnostic approvals (RET fusions, NTRK fusions, and BRAFV600E mutations). Results: Among 137401 patients in GENIE database (153,834 samples), 4506 samples harbored BRAFV600E mutations (3%), 390 had NTRK fusions (0.3%), and 375 had RET fusions (0.2%) (Table 1).

Isometric electrical stimulation was delivered to rabbit dorsiflexor muscles at 10 Hz for 1 s on and 1 s off over 30 min, 5 days/wk for 3 wk to induce an increase in muscle oxidative capacity. Stimulation-trained muscles as well as untrained muscles were then subjected to a 30-min eccentric exercise bout to test whether increased oxidative capacity provided a protective effect against muscle injury. Electrical stimulation resulted in significant training of both the extensor digitorum longus (EDL) and tibialis anterior (TA) muscles, with EDL citrate synthase (CS) activity increasing an average
