Abstract:
We continuously observed the growth of the dimer–adatom–stacking-fault (DAS) domain, in unreconstructed regions remaining after quenching a Si(111) surface to 370–380°C, by using scanning tunneling microscopy. It was observed that a single faulted (F) half of the 9×9 unit cell of the DAS structure grows to a small 9×9 DAS domain. Continuous measurements showed that new F-halves are created sharing corner holes with existing F-halves. The creation of new isolated F-halves was very seldom at 370–380°C, and the region of the DAS structure was grown by expanding the area of the existing DAS domain

Understanding genetic variability and mode of gene action for agronomic and yield related traits is important in formulation of effective rice breeding program for genetic enhancement of grain yield. Combining ability analysis and heterosis was conducted to identify yield associated traits from nine male indicas and three female japonicas, together with their 27 F1 hybrids. Four parental lines, including Basmati 370, Basmati 217, K2-54 and Komboka showed good general combining ability in days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, number of tillers plant-1, number of spikelet’s panicle-

An enzyme mixture with predominantly xylanase and cellulase activities was added to a high concentrate diet (92.2%, dry matter basis) and fed to growing heifers (370 kg) reared in a commercial feedlot. Enzyme supplementation had no effect on dry matter intake but increased (P < 0.01) average daily gain by 9% (1.40 to 1.53 kg d−1) and numerically improved feed-to-gain ratio by 10% (7.72 to 6.95 kg dry matter kg−1 gain). Feed enzyme technology can improve efficiency of commercial feedlot cattle production. Key words: Beef cattle, feedlot cattle, enzymes, barley

Coupled with specially designed legislative and political framework, the final status of the state was marred with inbuilt ambiguities. The latter subsequently provided a foundation for further political destabilization in the region.
