Abstract:
This article presents a new educational approach to teaching the discipline of stereometry by creating a 3D application working in virtual reality (VR) with and without immersion. The application is developed using Java3D. A new algorithm that uses elements of Cavalieri’s method of indivisibles and Isaac Newton’s method of limits is applied to generate regular polygon-based geometric figures, such as prisms and pyramids. A traditional method using trigonometry and 2D/3D graphics extrusion generates geometric shapes such as cone, cylinder and torus. The application interface uses 2D techniques,

StereoMV is a part of а dissertation on a topic "Stereoscopic Training System". The main purpose of the stereo system is to facilitate learning of the concepts of stereometry. The system is the author’s and offers a new approach for generating geometric bodies. The boundary method is used for creating the figures, which is based on the method of the boundaries of Isaac Newton and the "Indivisible" of the Italian mathematician Bonaventura Cavalieri. The study shows how by using 3D technologies such as virtual reality and 3D printing, the process of teaching in stereometry classes will be signif

The paper discusses the possibility of using computer technology for determining the spatial shape and stereometry of the burnishing tool contact zone with the machined material. The potential for use of the integrated measurement stand for the comprehensive analysis and virtual visualization of variations in the shape of burnished cylindrical surfaces based on stereometry measurement using a profilographometer (New Form Talysurf 2D/3D 120 by Taylor Hobson) and subsequent roundness measurements (Talyrond 365 by Taylor Hobson) has been presented.

The software proposed in the report can be used as a technological tool in the teaching and learning of the discipline of stereometry. The aim is to improve the learning process by supporting the development of students’ creativity and spatial imagination, qualities needed in the study of spatial geometric bodies. A new boundary method is used in the generation of geometric objects. This new method uses elements of the Cavalieri Indivisible method and Isaac Newton's boundary method, thus achieving higher accuracy with respect to generated objects compared to 3D systems that use the rules of tr

A new stereoscopic system is presented in this chapter for training in stereometry. Virtual reality systems are two types: immersion and non-immersion. An example of a environments with immersion is the desktop computer in which the virtual world is displayed on a special stereoscopic monitor through 3D glasses. The HMD (Head Mounted Display) virtual helmet is an example of an immersion system. The new stereoscopic system can also implement both types of 3D technology. At the same time, the software can generate objects in the .obj file extension to print to a 3D printer or add to a virtual re
