Bone marrow (BM) involvement is common in NHL and there is controversy over whether or not reinfusion of BM stem cells contaminated by clonogenic tumor cells is a major cause of relapse following ASCT. Bone marrow purging can reduce the number of tumor cells in vitro, but the impact on relapse and disease free survival (DFS) remains unknown. Methods: Between 1990

The clinical course was followed by measurement of blood pressure (by Riva-Rocci on the left brachial artery and by Doppler of the ankle artries), blood flow at restand after 3 min of tourniquet ischemia (by venou

Abstract:
Primary malignant melanoma of vagina is a rare disease with a predilection for local recurrence, distant metastasis and short survival time. Due to the low incidence and lack of reporting in the literature, treatment choices still remain controversial. We describe 2 cases of vaginal malignant melanoma. A 42 yr old female presented with complaints of post coital and per vaginal bleed of 1 month duration. Examination findings show growth 6 cm x 6 cm on anterior vaginal wall, another 3 x 3 cm lesion on right lateral vaginal wall. Vaginal biopsy showed malignant melanoma, S-100 and HMB-45 positive

Abstract:
Due to instability in the first in vitro period, platelet-aggregometry is usually deliberately postponed until ca. 1 hour after venepuncture (VP) . At that time aggregability is fairly constant for 1 hour or more. Investigation of the period immediately followed VP, hcwever, revealed a high aggregation resistance - measured as the threshold ADP-concentration which the platelets just could resist before they aggregate maximally and irreversibly - which subsequently decreased exponentially with time. This “Transient Aggregation Resistance” (TAR) appeared to be superimposed on a stable, so called

Abstract:
LMW heparin (LMWH) is better suited for subcutaneous (sc) administration than is UF heparin due to higher bioavailability and slower elimination. Optimal dosage for sc treatment of DVT has not been defined. Our previous study suggested that LMWH should be given in doses according to bodyweight (bw), and that sc injection of 100 anti-Xa U/kg bw/12 hrs might result in therapeutic plasma levels (Holm et al. Haemostasis 16, supl 2,30-37, 1986). This dosage is now being evaluated in an open study including patients with venographically proven DVT. Excluded were patients with pulmonary embolism, thr

This project seeks to (1) build a learner corpus of English writing by collecting sample language data at Primary 6, Secondary 4, and Junior College 2 levels; (2) generate linguistic profiles for these stages and analyze/compare lexical, grammatical and discoursal features across these stages to track the development of English writing; (3) inform the learning, teaching and curriculum design of English writing; and (4) contribute to the theorization on the nature of writing development (Christie & Derewianka, 2008). It attempts to answer the following research questions: 1. What are the le

Abstract:
An ad hoc science panel was convened in Vancouver, Canada from March 4-6, 2025, to address the conservation and recovery of the endangered Southern Resident killer whale (SRKW) population – which, as of the July 2024 census, numbered only 73 individuals. The panel assembled 31 international experts from universities, government agencies, and NGOs across Canada, the United States, and the European Union to assess the efficacy and limitations of existing threat-reduction strategies, and propose new or revised measures. Their expertise covered a range of disciplines, including killer whale biolog
