Abstract:
Thiosemicarbazones are class of compounds which are obtained by the condensation of thiosemicarbazide with carbonyl compounds. The transition metal complexes of thiosemicarbazones are widely considered due to their broad spectrum of biological activities such as antibacterial, antitumor and antifungal activities. In present research work a series of four novel Cu(II) aryl thiosemicarbazones complexes having the general composition [Cu(L1)2Cl2], [Cu(L2)2Cl2], [Cu(L3)2Cl2] and [Cu(L4)2Cl2]{where L1= 4-nitroacetophenone thiosemicarbazones (4NAT), L2 = 3-nitrobenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (3NBT),

Background: Microbial infections is a global public health problem. The aim of this work was to synthesize and evaluate the antimicrobial activity of novel triazoles, morpholines and thiosemicarbazones.

Methods: Compounds were synthesized using 2,4-Dihydroxyacetophenone and 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde as starting materials. The antimicrobial activity of these compounds against bacteria and yeast was evaluated by the broth microdilution method. Results: The proposed route for synthesis gave high to moderate yields, moreover these compounds were successfully characterized by 1H NMR

The reaction of [Ru2Cl2(μ-Cl)2(η6-p-cymene)2] with two thiosemicarbazones obtained by the condensation of N-(4-methoxybenzyl) thiosemicarbazide and 1,4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)ethan-1-one (HL1) or 2-fluoro-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (HL2) was studied. The cationic complexes of formula [RuCl(η6-p-cymene)(HL)]+ were isolated as solid chloride and trifluoromethylsulfate (TfO) salts. A study of the solid state and NMR spectra suggests the presence in the material of two isomers that differ in the configuration in the iminic bond, C2=N3, of the coordinated thiosemicarbazone in the triflate salts and onl

A series of 38 thiosemicarbazone derivatives based on camphene and limonene were evaluated for their antiproliferative activity. Among them, 19 were synthesized and characterized using proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (1H and 13C NMR). For initial compound selection, human melanoma cells (SK-MEL-37) were exposed to a single concentration of a compound (100 μM) for 24, 48, and 72 hours, and cell detachment was visually observed. Cell viability was determined using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method. Nineteen compounds (4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 1

The polydentate ligand, 3-[(2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-amino]-2-thioxo-imidazolidin-4-one, was synthesized by intermolecular cyclocondensation reaction of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone and ethylchloroacetate. Novel palladium(II) complex was obtained by nucleophilic substitution of both DMSO ligands from cis-[Pd(DMSO)2Cl2] with iminic nitrogen and thiolactamic sulfur from ligand. The structure of compounds was characterized on the basis of their spectral data. The cytotoxic activity of the ligand and palladium(II) complex was studied on tumor cell lines: human colon carcinoma HCT-116 and
