Background: We used the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) to determine the differences in mortality and medical burden between patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with and without stroke. Methods: We enrolled participants aged ≥20 years and defined four subgroups in this study, namely patients with COPD (International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9 CM): 491, 492, 494, and 496), patients with COPD with stroke (ICD-9 CM: 430–438), with COPD without stroke, and comparison subgroups. The composition of the Book VII of « Roman Antiquities », dealing with three consulates (from 493 to 490), is characterized by a diegetic deceleration at the same time external, intrinsic and internal. Devoting nearly two thirds of the Book to the year 491, with the lawsuit against the patrician Coriolanus, Dionysius stresses the importance of this decisive constitutional stage. Thus Dionysius registers his own speech as a historian within an active perspective, which is also exposed through a second characteristic of the composition of Book VII, namely, the great number of passages which, whi

Selected epitopes are involved in protein–protein interactions in the S protein complexes with neutralizing antibodies and ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2). AbstractHigh precision U/Pb data obtained from zircons extracted from plagiogranite within the gabbro unit of the Shetland Islands oceanic fragment of northeast Scotland yield an age of 492 ± 3 Ma. Field relations indicate that the plagiogranites were generated by the partial melting of amphibolitized gabbros within high-temperature shear zones formed due to crustal deformation and fluid infiltration occurring in proximity to a spreading centre. The U/Pb data therefore constrain the crystallization age of the Shetland complex. This age is similar to U/Pb ages obtained from the Leka (497±2 Ma),

The murine Ly-49 antigen belongs to a family of type II transmembrane molecules containing lectin-like domains. The original member of this family, Ly-49A, has been demonstrated to be expressed by a subpopulation of natural killer (NK) cells, bind certain class I major histocompatibility complexes (MHC), and act as a negative regulator of lytic activity. The expression patterns and functional activities of the other Ly-49s, however, is unknown. We extended the study of this family by isolating cDNAs encoding two new Ly-49 molecules. AbstractWe present results of a multiwavelength study of the isolated dual AGN system Was 49. Observations show that the dominant component in this interacting system, Was 49a, is a spiral galaxy, while Was 49b is hosted in a dwarf galaxy located at 8 kpc from the nucleus of Was 49a, at the edge of its disk. The intriguing fact about this system is the luminosity of their corresponding AGNs. While Was 49a hosts a low luminosity Seyfert 2 with Lbol˜1043erg s–1, Was 49b has a Seyfert 2 with Lbol ˜ 1045erg s–1, in the luminosity range of Quasars.
