AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of imiquimod 5% in periungual wart treatment.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A group of 40 patients were recruited to apply imiquimod 5 % cream once daily for 5 consecutive days per week in 8 weeks. They were classified into 3 levels: Mild (the total lesion area ≤ 25 mm2), moderate (25 mm2 <total lesion area ≤ 50 mm2), severe (total lesion area > 50 mm2). The outcome was evaluated at the 4th and the 8th week. The result was graded as excellent (complete clearance), good (≥ 50% clearance) and poor (< 50% clearance).
RESULTS: The total area of the wart l

Background. We aimed to determine whether serum soluble CD30 (sCD30) could identify recipients at high risk for unfavorable early and late kidney transplant outcomes.Methods.Serum sCD30 was measured on the day of kidney transplantation and on the 4th day posttransplant. We assessed the value of these measurements in predicting delayed graft function, slow graft function (SGF), acute rejection (AR), pyelonephritis, decline of allograft function after 6 months, and graft and patient survival during 5 years of follow-up in 45 recipients.Results.We found the association between low pretransplant se

The study addresses an imprecisely defined period between the end of the Neolithic and the beginning of the Eneolithic in the Central Balkans. The study primarily refers to the characteristic ceramic forms common to both the Vinca culture and the Early Eneolithic groups, especially the Bubanj-Hum I group. The pottery under consideration originates exclusively from absolutely dated sites, single-layered sites, and sites that possess a well-defined vertical stratigraphy. The analyses of pottery, combined with brief reviews on economic strategies, the chipped stone industry, settlement topography

Two trials were conducted to note the pullets' response to diet concentrations of calcium from 0.9 to 3.5% fed from 19 wk to day of producing their 4th egg. After this time all birds were fed a common 3.5% Ca layer diet. In Trials 1 and 2 each diet treatment (0.9, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 or 3.5% Ca) was tested with 5 and 16 individually caged birds, respectively. Results from Trial 1 indicated a small (P > 0.05) increase in calcium retention in response to increased diet calcium. Diet calcium concentration had no effect on age at 1st egg, although use of 3.5% Ca during this time resulted in a re

Probit model was applied on the non-performance loans (NPL) of eight quarters, quarter 1— quarter 8, in determining the significant quarter before the bank was declared failure. The result of the Probit estimates found that as early as one-year ahead (4th quarter-ahead) bank-failure can be alerted and predicted. The NPL of the 4th quarter was a significant predictor of bank failure. The estimates of the model correctly predicts 89.6 percent of the U.S. banks that failed and 97.6 percent of the banks that survived during 2008-2010. Overall, the estimated model correctly predicts 95.5 percent of

By investigating Fortunatian’s (Trinitarian) theology in relation to the prior early Latin Trinitarian doctrine and to different heterodox traditions, and ascertaining his doctrinal standpoint in the Arian controversy of the middle of the 4th century, his doctrine reveals itself to be far more Ca
