Electrical resistance measurements showed that under continuous heating at 5 K/min crystallization begins at 473 K by formation of Al-nanocrystals and ends at 673 K by formation of equilibrium intermetallics. Abstract:

An unsymmetrical photochromic diarylethene which called 1-[(2-methyl-5-dioxolane)-3-thienyl]-2-[(2-methyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-thienyperfluorocyclo-pentene was synthesized and its photochromic properties were examined in detail. The result demonstrate that the diarylethene changed the color from colorless to blue violt upon irradiation with 297 nm UV light, in which absorption maxima were observed at 552 nm and 563 nm in hexane and PMMA films, respectively. This photochromic compound also exhibited remarkable fluorescence switching both in hexane solution and in PMMA films.

To determine the indices of prevalence of intestinal parasites and commensals in the residents of ecotourism region of Paraná State, a retrospective study was conducte, from January/2003 to December/2004 on 3,764 fecal parasitological examinations performed by a private laboratory of Ubiratã using the Baermann-Moraes, water-sedimentation and Willis methods. An unsymmetrical photochromic diarylethene 1-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)-2-[2-methyl-5-(3-N,N-dimethylphenyl)-3-thienyperfluorocyclopentene (1a) was synthesized and its photochromism, fluorescent properties and reaction kinetics of cyclization and cycloreversion were studied in detail. Two-color emission phosphors BaGd2(MoO4)4: Eu3+, Er3+, Yb3+ have been synthesized by the high temperature solid-state method. The as-prepared BaGd2(MoO4)4: Eu3+, Er3+, Yb3+ phosphors can emit intense red light under 395 nm UV excitation, while it will show bright green light upon 980 nm infrared light excitation. It is found that the red emission peaks at 595 and 614 nm should be attributed to 5D0-7F1 and 5D0-7F2 transitions of Eu3+, respectively.
