Abstract:
SummaryAntibodies directed against ADAMTS13 have been detected in the majority of patients with acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). We have previously localized a major antigenic determinant within the spacer domain of ADAMTS13. To identify the amino acid residues of the spacer domain that are involved in binding of anti-ADAMTS13 antibodies, we constructed a series of fifteen hybrids (designated A-O) in which 5–10 amino acids of the spacer domain were exchanged for the corresponding region of ADAMTS1. Plasma from six patients with antibodies directed against the spacer domain was analyzed for reactivity with the ADAMTS13/ADAMTS1 chimeras. Exchange of amino acid residues 572–579 (hybrid C) and 657–666 (hybrid M) completely abolished the binding of antibodies from all six patients analyzed. Regions 580–587 (D), 602–620 (G, H), 629–638 (J), and 667–767 (N) contributed to binding of antibodies from patients 2, 4, and 5 (epitope present within regions CDGHJMN). Antibodies derived from patient 1 required region 602–620 (G, H) for binding (CGHM-epitope). For antibodies of patient 3, residues 564–571 (B), 580–587 (D), and 629–638 (J) were required (BCDJM-epitope), whereas replacement of residues 602–610 (G) and 629–638 (J) greatly diminished binding of antibodies from patient 6 (CGJM-epitope). Despite the presumably polyclonal origin of the antibodies present in plasma of patients, our results suggest that residues 572–579 (C) and 657–666 (M) comprise a common antigenic core region that is crucial for binding of anti-ADAMTS13 antibodies. Other regions that spatially surround this antigenic core further modulate binding of antibodies to the spacer domain.

Abstract:
Thin poly-Si layers deposited at 625 °C by LPCVD that are used in silicon technology for microelectronics exhibit a pronounced additional x-ray diffraction peak at about 0.334 nm. High-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) reveals that this peak stems from {010} reflections of a diamond hexagonal (dh) Si phase, which occurs as small inclusions with the orientation relationship (01) ‖ (0001), [011] ‖ [20] to the diamond cubic (dc) Si matrix. Due to the high density of planar faults on {111}, the dh-Si phase also exists in the form of the 2H silicon polytype with the orientation relationship (1) ‖ (0001), [011] ‖ [20]. In the first case the formation of the dh-Si phase may be understood by a multiple twinning transformation process, and in the second case by glide of Shockley partial dislocations on {111} planes. Various other hexagonal polytypes occur, which have all the {010} reflections in common and make a major contribution to the 0.334 nm peak. The medium temperature of 625 °C for layer deposition leads to a 〈011〉 preferential orientation and a high density of twins as well as to high compressive stress in the poly-Si layer itself. This seems to promote the formation of dh-Si. The strong twinning behavior produces a typical tilt grain boundary between adjacent dh-Si grains: [20], (016), Θ = 35°with a translation vector t = 1/2[031] parallel to it. The dh-Si phase vanishes in this poly-Si film after annealing at temperatures above 1000 °C due to grain growth by recrystallization.

Abstract:
Fabrication of integrated circuits on SOI (Silicon-On-Insulator) material is very attractive because it offers high component density, immunity to latch-up and radiation hardness. Among various SOI techniques SIMOX Separation by IMplantation of OXygen) provides the best material, with carrier mobilities and defect densities approaching bulk silicon values, Early SIMOX wafers were implanted at temperatures below 600°C and annealed at high temperature (>1300°C), which gave a high defect density (109cm−2), including threading dislocations and narrow stacking faults (SFs), as shown in Figure 1. Higher temperature (>600°C) implantation of SIMOX reduced defect densities to 106cm-2 with pairs of narrow SFs in the top silicon layer, as shown in Figure 2. This paper describes a further reduction of defect density in SIMOX material through various annealing conditions, which has resulted in a defect density less than 105cm−2. A new formation mechanism for stacking fault tetrahedra is also discussed.Silicon (100) wafers were sequentially implanted (620°C) and annealed (at 1320°C for 5 hours) to doses of 0.5, 0.5, and 0.8×l018cm-2.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of polypropylene fibers on fire resistance of concrete. In order to achieve this, concrete mixtures are prepared by using different percentages of polypropylene; 0%, 0.5% and 1%, by volume. The samples are heated to 200, 400 and 600 °C, for exposures up to 6 hours, and tested for compressive strength. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the relative compressive strengths of concretes containing PP fibers were higher than those of concretes without PP fibers. Furthermore, it can be concluded that concrete mixes which are prepared using 0.5% PP fibers, by volume, can significantly promote the residual compressive strength during the heating.

Abstract:
Purpose:Cross-country-ski races place complex demands on athletes, with events lasting between approximately 3 min and 2 h. The aim of the current study was to compare the aerobic and anaerobic measures derived from a short time trial (TT) between male and female skiers using diagonal cross-country skiing.Methods:Twenty-four highly trained cross-country skiers (12 male and 12 female, age 17.4 ± 1.4 y, body mass 68.2 ± 8.9 kg, height 174 ± 8 cm) participated. The submaximal VO2–speed relationship and VO2max were derived from an incremental ramp test to exhaustion (RAMP), while the accumulated oxygen deficit (AOD), peak VO2, and performance time were measured during a 600-m TT.Results:The female skiers took longer to complete the TT than the males (209 ± 9 s vs 166 ± 7 s, P < .001) and exhibited a lower relative anaerobic contribution (20% ± 4% vs 24% ± 3%, P = .015) and a higher fractional utilization of VO2max (84% ± 4% vs 79% ± 5%, P = .007) than males. Although there was no significant difference in AOD between the sexes (40.9 ± 9.5 and 47.3 ± 7.4 mL/kg for females and males, respectively; P = .079), the mean difference ± 90% confidence intervals of 6.4 ± 6.0 mL/kg reflected a likely practical difference (ES = 0.72). The peak VO2 during the TT was significantly higher than VO2max during the RAMP for all participants combined (62.3 ± 6.8 vs 60.5 ± 7.2 mL · kg−1 · min−1, P = .011), and the mean difference ± 90% confidence intervals of 1.8 ± 1.1 mL · kg−1 · min−1 reflected a possible practical difference (ES = 0.25).Conclusions:These results show that performance and physiological responses to a self-paced TT lasting approximately 3 min differ between sexes. In addition, a TT may provide a valid measure of VO2max.

Abstract:
Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) smolts were exposed for 80 h to seven water qualities: pH 5.6 with 31 and 46 µg labile Al · L-1, pH 6.0 with 18 and 24 µg labile Al · L-1, and pH 6.2 with 12 and 18 µg labile Al · L-1 and control water at pH 6.8 and <10 µg labile Al · L-1. The three groups with the highest concentrations of labile Al (31 and 46 µg labile Al · L-1 at pH 5.6 and 24 µg labile Al · L-1 at pH 6.0) suffered high mortalities and showed a disturbance in osmoregulation and a massive secretion of mucus, as seen from a decrease in number of skin mucous cells. Furthermore, an increase in skin mucous cells containing acidic mucosubstances was observed. The loss of plasma chloride and skin mucous cells showed a significant linear correlation (R2 = 0.68, p < 0.001). The increased secretion of mucus on skin and gills and the increase in acidity of mucosubstances are consistent with their prior presumed defensive role in binding of Al.

Abstract:
Extending the investigations on (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-based solid solution for lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, this paper consider the complex solid-solution system (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3Bi0.5(Na0.90K0.10)0.5TiO3 [NKN-BNK. (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3 with 1 ~ 5 mol% Bi0.5(Na0.90K0.10)0.5TiO3 has been prepared following the conventional mixed oxide process. It can be concluded that the NKN-BNKT ceramics have orthorhombic structures in the case x 0.03. With increasing BNKT content (x=0.04 to 0.05), however, the structure changes from orthorhombic to rhombohedral phase. Above results demonstrated that the MPB between orthorhombic and rhombohedral phases exits in the solid solution with the BNKT content of x=0.03. At the MPB composition, the cryctalline structure of ceramics is considered to be a coexistence of orthorhombic and rhombohedral phase. Owing to the phase coexistence at the phase boundary, there exists a different symmetry regions (DSR) near the MPB. The DSR boundary motion increases the dielectric permittivity and piezoelectric coefficients. The electromechanical coupling factor and dielectric constant are higher for compositions near the MPB. The dielectric constant (KT33), planar coupling coefficient (kp), thickness coupling coefficient (kt) and piezoelectric constant (d33)of 0.98NKN-0.02BNKT ceramics were 1180, 30%, 58%, and 180, respectively.

Abstract:
A comparative study of Raman spectra excited by laser radiation λL = 632.8 nm and 488 nm of natural crystals of 2H-MoS2 and nanocrystallites MoS2 (C) containing 0.5 and 1.0 wt.% Carbon additives. A detailed numerical analysis of the shape of observed D and G bands was performed. The complication of the spectra of graphite-like and diamond-like structures with the appearance of additional spectral components at 1440-1500 cm-1 and 1230-1270 cm-1 as a result of doubling the size of the corresponding elementary quasi-cells are analyzed. It is shown that the frequencies of D-bands of diamond-like nanostructures 1297 ÷ 1302 cm-1 don’t depend on λL in contrast to the change in the frequencies of the G (k)-bands. A significant effect of 632.8 nm resonant radiation on the electronic states and properties of MoS2 (C) NC was established. The strengthening of the D bands of the diamond-like structure and the ordering of the graphite structure with increasing carbon content in MoS2 (C) nanocrystals have been established. The change of spectral positions of D, G, and G (k) bands at strengthening the degree of disordering of a diamond- and graphite-like structures is considered. The influence of laser radiation on carbon structures is discussed.

Abstract:
AbstractAlthough World Glacier Inventory (WGI) data for 241 local glaciers (>1 km2 in area) in Svalbard show a mean aspect of 014˚ ± 24˚, their mid-altitudes are lowest for an aspect of 109˚ ± 46˚, which is inconsistent. Further data are generated here for the altitude, length and source aspect of 205 local glaciers (0.3–6.0 km long) in the main area of local glaciation in Svalbard, Nordenskiöld Land. All four mountain blocks have mean glacier source aspects of 356˚ to 018˚; the overall mean is 011˚ ± 8˚. Mid-altitudes are lowest at 042˚ ±21˚, predicted to be 53 m lower than on opposite aspects. Lowest altitudes are predicted at 009˚ to 030˚, averaging 157 m lower than on opposite aspects. These results show that local, land-terminating glaciers around 78˚ N are affected more by north-south radiation receipt contrasts than by wind effects, consistent with the trend found across most other Arctic regions. It is concluded that, although weaker than in mid-latitudes, contrasts due to slope climates are substantial even in Arctic glaciers. This is apparent only when small, steep glaciers are inventoried: WGI data are incomplete and users need to check the thresholds of coverage.

Abstract:
Two different kinds of mullite precursors with composition 3Al2O3•2SiO2 (3:2) were prepared by conventional drying ethanol solution and spray-drying aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate nanohydrate and tetraethoxysilane, respectively. The results of scanning electron microscope (SEM) indicate that one powder consists of irregular particles with size of 1-10μm, the other powder is made of inhomogeneously sized hollow spherical particles with mean size of 0.5-5μm. The TG-DTA curves indicate the hollow spherical particles are unfavorable to eliminate the decomposed products. After the precursors were sintered by Spark Plasma Sintering at 1450°C for 10min, the microstructures of the former are made of fine equiaxed grains with sizes of around 0.5μm, the latter consist of elongated grains distributed in the matrix of fine grains with imhomogenous size of 0.5~10μm due to the liquid phase forming. The different microstructures lead to the former sintered body is transparent, while, the sample from spray-drying is opaque.

Abstract:
The infrared transmission spectra of four silicate glasses were investigated. By using blown glass films, 1–2 μm thick, detailed infrared transmission spectra were generated over the 4000–180 cm−1 range, both before and after the films were exposed to water. The water had little effect on the spectra of the 70SiO2–20Na2O–10Al2O3 (mol %) and Pyrex compositions, but had a large effect on the spectra of the 70SiO2–30Na2O (mol %) and Corning 015 compositions. The Si–O nonbridged stretching band at ∼950 cm−1 and a largely overlooked bending band at ∼600 cm−1 were the bands most sensitive to hydration in the 70/30 and 015 compositions. Changes were also seen in the Si–O–Si bridged stretching bands at ∼1050 cm−1 and ∼770 cm−1. The water, however, had no effect on the dominant Si–O–Si bending band at 460 cm−1. It was also discovered that the 70/30 and 015 films reacted with the atmosphere to form a carbonate layer on their surface. This carbonate accounted for the 1450 cm−1 and 230 cm−1 bands seen in their infrared transmission spectra.

Abstract:
The star Gliese 623 (RA = 16h 22.6m; Deal = +48°28′ [1950]), π = 0.″138; mv = 10.3; Sp dM3, (Woolley et al., 1970)) is observed at Pulkovo by means of the 26-inch Refractor. The series of 95 plates (about 600 individual positions) obtained during 1979–1994 has been studied. This set has shown perturbations in the motion of this star under the influence of a dark component which has been investigated earlier by different methods (see, for instance, Marcy & Moore, 1989). The following values of relative proper motion and parallax with their mean errors and preliminary elements of the photocentric orbit have been adopted on the base of our observations: μx = +1.″1483 ± 0.″0010; μy = −0.″4462 ± 0.″0009; πx = 0.″126 ± 0.″019; πy = 0.″136 ± 0.″017; P = 3.76 years; e = 0.50; To = 1984.28. With the use of modified Thiele – Innes constants the following elements of the orbit have been determined: α = 0.″052 ± 0.″006 (m.e.) and i = 141°; ω = 265°; ω = 126°. We may suppose that the lower limit of the mass of the component is about 0.09 masses of the Sun. Our study has shown small periodic deviations in the distances between the components of δ Gem and ADS 11632, which may be evoked by substellar and stellar companions of low masses (Shakht, 1988).

Abstract:
This study evaluated cytosolic P(i) as an independent regulator of cardiac adenosine formation by dissociating changes in P(i) from changes in AMP and ADP. Myocardial high-energy phosphates (HEP), measured by (31)P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, were depleted acutely by perfusing isolated guinea pig hearts with 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG), and the effects of 2-DG were compared with a norepinephrine infusion producing similar changes in HEP. 2-DG treatment resulted in lower adenosine release (R(ado)) (54 +/- 18 vs. 622 +/- 199 pmol x min(-1) x g(-1)) and P(i) concentration ([P(i)]) (0.5 +/- 0.1 vs. 6.0 +/- 0.9 mM) than norepinephrine despite similar AMP concentration ([AMP]). Chronic phosphocreatine depletion produced by beta-guanidinopropionic acid feeding also reduced R(ado) and P(i) during hypoxia. Replacement of perfusate glucose and pyruvate with acetate increased R(ado) (from 39 +/- 12 to 356 +/- 100 pmol x min(-1) x g(-1)) and [P(i)] (from 2.0 +/- 0.5 to 5.1 +/- 0.6 mM) with no change in cytosolic [AMP]. Adenosine kinase isolated from guinea pig hearts was inhibited by [P(i)] values seen during hypoxia or hypoperfusion. We conclude that cytosolic [P(i)] can be an important regulator of cardiac adenosine formation through inhibition of adenosine kinase.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Pest, disease and weed control in large-scale crops depend on the application of agrochemicals. These applications are subject to several factors that can lead to drift. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of spray nozzles with inclined flat jet, on the drift. The drift was collected in a 10 m wind tunnel, with a spray system inside. The samples were collected in 5 horizontal points, from 2.0 to 6.0 m away from the spray nozzle and 5 points in the vertical, from 0.1 to 0.5 m away from the lower base of the wind tunnel, totaling 25 sample points. The mixture applied was glyphosate (isopropylamine salt, 1080 g a.e. ha-1) with 2,4-D (dimethylamine salt, 1.005 g a.e. ha-1). The nozzles J3D 100 025, JGC 120 02, JAP 110 015 and ADI 110 015 (control), inclined by 37.5º, 20º, 15º and 0º, respectively, were used in two directions of spray: upwind and downwind of the air flow direction. The nozzles J3D, JGC and JAP, when inclined downwind reduced the drift by 16.1, 2.6 and 39.0%, respectively, relative to the control, and when inclined upwind, reduced drift by 53.4, 3.9 and 18.6%, respectively, relative to the control. Spray nozzles with second-generation air-induction inclined flat jet (JAP) and standard inclined flat jet (J3D) reduce the collected drift compared to the nozzle without inclination, regardless of wind flow direction.

Abstract:
This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the optimal trough concentration of voriconazole for adult patients with invasive fungal infections. We used stepwise cutoffs of 0.5–2.0 μg/mL for efficacy and 3.0–6.0 μg/mL for safety. Studies were included if they reported the rates of all-cause mortality and/or treatment success, hepatotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity according to the trough concentration. Twenty-five studies involving 2554 patients were included. The probability of mortality was significantly decreased using a cutoff of ≥1.0 μg/mL (odds ratio (OR) = 0.34, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.15–0.80). Cutoffs of 0.5 (OR = 3.48, 95% CI = 1.45–8.34) and 1.0 μg/mL (OR = 3.35, 95% CI = 1.52–7.38) also increased the treatment success rate. Concerning safety, significantly higher risks of hepatotoxicity and neurotoxicity were demonstrated at higher concentrations for all cutoffs, and the highest ORs were recorded at 4.0 μg/mL (OR = 7.39, 95% CI = 3.81–14.36; OR = 5.76, 95% CI 3.14–10.57, respectively). Although further high-quality trials are needed, our findings suggest that the proper trough concentration for increasing clinical success while minimizing toxicity is 1.0–4.0 μg/mL for adult patients receiving voriconazole therapy.

Abstract:
Experimental studies of the magnetic and structural properties of solid solutions of the Mn1-xCoxNiGe system in a wide range of Co concentrations (0.05≤ x≤ 0.8), temperatures (5 K≤ x≤600 K) and magnetic fields (0.016 T≤ x≤ 13.5 T) have revealed a number of nontrivial magnetic and magnetocaloric features of this system. The latter include: 1) a change in the nature of magnetic phase transitions from magnetostructural transitions of the 1st order paramagnetism-antiferromagnetism (0.05≤ x≤ 0.15) to isostructural transitions of the 2nd order paramagnetism-ferromagnetism (0.15≤ x≤0.8) with a change in the concentration of Co ; 2) anomalous behavior of low-temperature regions of magnetization in weak magnetic fields; 3) a change in the saturation magnetization and the appearance of irreversible magnetic field-induced transitions at helium temperatures in strong magnetic fields.

Abstract:
The objective of this research was evaluate the effect of two CO2 partial pressures in ultra-low oxygen on the mass loss in function of respiration, oxygen consumption, respiratory rate and other characteristics of 'Fuyu' persimmon during 12 weeks in controlled atmosphere (CA) storage at temperature of -0,5°C. For thus, one experiment was carried out with the followed CA condition: [1] 0.15 kPa O2 plus 2.0 kPa CO2 and [2] 0.15 kPa O2 plus 6.0 kPa CO2. On this study was verified that the respiration (carbon dioxide production) was responsible for 24% of total mass loss. The total mass loss is significantly affected by the controlled atmosphere storage. The 2.0 kPa CO2 promotes changes in the respiratory quotient during the storage period and keep higher mass loss in function of respiration (CO2 losses) and lower soluble solids after storage.

Abstract:
In this work, inorganic paste was made from melting slag (MS) of MSWI ash and MSWI bottom ash (MBA) by geopolymer technique. Heavy metals such as Pb and Cu are highly contained in MBA. In the view of environmental protection and resource conservation, recycling of MSWI ash is desirable. MS and MBA were mixed to make inorganic paste. Compressive strength was measured to evaluate the characteristics of inorganic paste after the period of 1, 3 and 7day. Compressive strength of almost 90 MPa was obtained at the mixing ratio of MS : MBA = 9 : 1. And the crystalloid and crystal structure was analyzed by FTIR and XRD. Korea Standard leaching Test (KSLT) is also used to evaluate the environmental safety of inorganic paste. The leached concentration of Pb and Cu were 0.44 ppm and 0.15 ppm, respectively. According to this result, heavy metals were safety immobilized and stabilized.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose To demonstrate the usefulness of hair testing to determine exposure pattern to fentanyls. Methods A 43-year-old male was found unconscious with respiratory depression 15 min after snorting 3 mg of a powder labeled as butyrylfentanyl. He was discharged from hospital within 2 days without blood or urine testing. Two locks of hair were sampled 1 month (M1 A: 0–2 cm (overdose time frame); B: 2–4 cm; C: 4–6 cm) and 1 year (Y1: A: 0–2 cm; B: 2–4 cm) later to monitor his exposure to drugs of abuse by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry after liquid-liquid extraction. Results Hair analysis at M1 showed a repetitive exposure to 3-fluorofentanyl (A/B/C: 150/80/60 pg/mg) with higher concentration in segment A reflecting the overdose period. The non-detection of butyrylfentanyl was consistent with the analysis of the recovered powder identified as 3-fluorofentanyl. Furanylfentanyl (40/20/15 pg/mg) and fentanyl (37/25/3 pg/mg) were also detected in hair. The second hair analysis at Y1 showed the use of three new fentanyls, with probably repetitive exposures to methoxyacetylfentanyl (A/B: 500/600 pg/mg), and single or few exposures to carfentanil (2.5/3 pg/mg) and acetyl fentanyl (1/1 pg/mg). A decreasing exposure to 3-fluorofentanyl (25/80 pg/mg), and increasing consumption of furanylfentanyl (310/500 pg/mg) and fentanyl (620/760 pg/mg) were also observed despite methadone treatment initiation. The patient claimed not consuming three out of the six detected fentanyls. Conclusions We report single or repetitive exposure to several fentanyls using hair testing. To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of 3-fluorofentanyl and methoxyacetylfentanyl in hair samples collected from an authentic abuser.

Abstract:
Perovskite-type oxide with transition metal as active site presented a promising potential catalyst for tar elimination in gasification process. LaNi1-xCoxO3 (x= 0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 1) were prepared by sol-gel method. The XRD profiles of the calcined catalysts revealed the mixed metal oxide forms including LaNiO3 and LaCoO3 rhombohedral structures. Good dispersion of La, Ni, and Co with homogenous structure was observed in synthesized catalyst. The particle size and surface area were in the range of 12.64-21.86 μm and 3.89-11.69 m2 /g, respectively. Activity of prepared catalysts on tar elimination was carried out using steam reforming of toluene as tar model compound at 500, 600, 700, and 800°C. Product distributions obtained from reforming reaction with LaNi1-xCoxO3 were between 40.24-88.84% of gas, 10.99-59.59% of liquid, and 0.15-0.17% of solid. Conversion to CO and H2 were found to increase with the reaction temperature. The maximum carbon and hydrogen conversion to syngas, CO and H2, of approximately 78.42% and 83.49% with acceptable heating value were occurred at 800oC using LaNiO3 as catalyst. Crystal structure of used catalysts clearly showed destruction of perovskite structure and transformation to metallic Ni and Co at effective temperature.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives The study aimed to investigate the prevalence and demographic characteristics of an immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-related thyroid dysfunction (ICI-TD), and to explore risk factors of poor clinical outcome using data from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). Methods This is a retrospective study. All cases, aged over 18-year olds, of new-onset or new-diagnosed thyroid dysfunction related to FDA-approved ICIs from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2020 were identified using FAERS. Data of age, gender, other combined endocrinopathies related to ICIs besides ICI-TDs, and the prognosis was analyzed. Results In total, 2.60% (2971/114 121) cases of ICI-TDs were identified. Among them, 1842 (62.0%) developed hypothyroidism, 675 (22.7%) were hyperthyroidism, and 454 (15.3%) presented in thyroiditis without the mention of thyroid function. Patients on anti- programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) therapy displayed higher risk of hypothyroidism compared with other 3 regimens, respectively (P < .01 for all). The likelihood of other immune-related endocrinopathies in patients on the combination therapy of anti-cytotoxic T-cell-associated protein-4 (CTLA-4) and anti-PD-1 was significantly elevated than anti-PD-1 (odds ratio [OR] 2.362, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.925-2.898], P < .001) and anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) regimens (OR 4.857, 95%CI [3.228-7.308], P < .001). The risk of severe cases was positively related to hypothyroidism in individuals on anti-PD-1 therapy (OR 1.587, 95%CI [1.146-2.197], P = .005) and those on anti-CTLA-4 therapy (OR 3.616, 95%CI [1.285-10.171], P = .015). The risk of severe cases was positively associated with the comorbidity with other endocrinopathies (anti-PD-1 group, OR 0.285, 95%CI [0.200-0.467], P < .001; anti-PD-1+anti-CTLA-4 group, OR 0.574, 95%CI [0.371-0.890], P = .013). Conclusions Regular monitor of thyroid function is indispensable, since ICI-TDs manifested as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, especially those on the combination therapy. Awareness among health care professionals is critical when hypothyroidism occurs, which might indicate poor clinical outcomes.

Abstract:
We investigated the effect of a 48 h triglyceride infusion on the subsequent insulin secretion in response to glucose in healthy men. We measured the variations in plasma concentration and urinary excretion of catecholamines as an indirect estimation of sympathetic tone. For 48 h, 20 volunteers received a triglyceride/heparin or a saline solution, separated by a 1-month interval. At time 48 h, insulin secretion in response to glucose was investigated by a single iv glucose injection (0.5 g/kg−1) followed by an hyperglycemic clamp (10 mg·kg−1·min−1, during 50 min). The triglyceride infusion resulted in a 3-fold elevation in plasma free fatty acids and an increase in insulin and C-peptide plasma concentrations (1.5- and 2.5-fold, respectively, P < 0.05), compared with saline. At time 48 h of lipid infusion, plasma norepinephrine (NE) concentration and urinary excretion levels were lowered compared with saline (plasma NE: 0.65 ± 0.08 vs. 0.42 ± 0.06 ng/ml, P < 0.05; urinary excretion: 800 ± 70 vs. 620 ± 25 nmol/24 h, P < 0.05). In response to glucose loading, insulin and C-peptide plasma concentrations were higher in lipid compared with saline infusion (plasma insulin: 600 ± 98 vs. 310 ± 45 pm, P < 0.05; plasma C-peptide 3.5 ± 0.2 vs. 1.7 ± 0.2 nm, P < 0.05). In conclusion, in healthy subjects, a 48-h lipid infusion induces basal hyperinsulinemia and exaggerated insulin secretion in response to glucose which may be partly related to a decrease in sympathetic tone.

Abstract:
The human renin infused rat model (HRIRM) was used as an in vivo small-animal model for evaluating the efficacy of a collection of inhibitors of human renin. The intravenous infusion of recombinant human renin (2.4 µg·kg-1·min-1) in the ganglion-blocked, nephrectomized rat produced a mean blood pressor response of 47 ± 3 mmHg (1 mmHg = 133.3 Pa), which was reduced by captopril, enalkiren, and losartan in a dose-dependent manner following oral administration, with ED50 values of 0.3 ± 0.1, 2.5 ± 0.9, and 5.2 ± 1.6 mg/kg, respectively. A series of peptidomimetic P2-P3 butanediamide renin inhibitors inhibited purified recombinant human renin in vitro in a concentration-dependent manner, with IC50 values ranging from 0.4 to 20 nM at pH 6.0, with a higher range of IC50 values (0.8-80 nM) observed at pH 7.4. Following i.v. administration of renin inhibitors, the pressor response to infused human renin in the HRIRM was inhibited in a dose-dependent manner, with ED50 values ranging from 4 to 600 µg/kg. The in vivo inhibition of human renin following i.v. administration in the rat correlated significantly better with the in vitro inhibition of human renin at pH 7.4 (r = 0.8) compared with pH 6.0 (r = 0.5). Oral administration of renin inhibitors also resulted in a dose-dependent inhibition of the pressor response to infused human renin, with ED50 values ranging from 0.4 to 6.0 mg/kg and the identification of six renin inhibitors with an oral potency of <1 mg/kg. The ED50 of renin inhibitors for inhibition of angiotensin I formation in vivo was highly correlated (r = 0.9) with the ED50 for inhibition of the pressor response. These results demonstrate the high potency, dose dependence, and availability following oral administration of the butanediamide series of renin inhibitors.Key words: renin-angiotensin system, recombinant human renin, rat, renin inhibitors.

Abstract:
The quality attributes and storage life of ‘Irwin’ mango fruit can be effectively maintained with 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) application and/or chitosan coating. Mango was treated with 5 µl l-1 1-MCP for 12 h, dipped with 0.5 % chitosan, 5 µl l-1 1-MCP combine with 0.5 % chitosan and untreated (control) then stored at 10°C. Application of chitosan coating delayed electrolyte leakage (EL) while1-MCP maintained firmness, EL and extended storage life at 32 days after storage. Therefore, using application of 1-MCP in mango at 10°C is a feasible technology for maintains quality and prolongs storage life in order to expand marketability and export options.

Abstract:
The ( Li 0.5 Bi 0.5)( W 1-x Mo x) O 4(0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) ceramics were prepared via the solid state reaction method. The sintering temperature decreased almost linearly from 755°C for ( Li 0.5 Bi 0.5) WO 4 to 560°C for ( Li 0.5 Bi 0.5) MoO 4. When the x≤0.3, a wolframite solid solution can be formed. For x = 0.4 and x = 0.6 compositions, both the wolframite and scheelite phases can be formed from the X-ray diffraction analysis, while two different kinds of grains can be revealed from the scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer results. High performance of microwave dielectric properties were obtained in the (Li0.5Bi0.5)(W0.6Mo0.4)O4 ceramic sintered at 620°C with a relative permittivity of 31.5, a Qf value of 8500 GHz (at 8.2 GHz), and a temperature coefficient value of +20 ppm/°C. Complex dielectric spectra of pure (Li0.5Bi0.5)WO4 ceramic gained from the infrared spectra were extrapolated down to microwave range, and they were in good agreement with the measured values. The ( Li0.5Bi0.5 )( W 1-x Mo x) O 4(0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) ceramics might be promising for low temperature co-fired ceramic technology.

Abstract:
Context: Caffeine, often in the form of coffee, is frequently used as a supplement by athletes in an attempt to facilitate improved performance during exercise. Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of coffee ingestion as an ergogenic aid prior to a 1-mile (1609 m) race. Methods: In a double-blind, randomized, cross-over, and placebo-controlled design, 13 trained male runners completed a 1-mile race 60 minutes following the ingestion of 0.09 g·kg−1 coffee (COF), 0.09 g·kg−1 decaffeinated coffee (DEC), or a placebo (PLA). All trials were dissolved in 300 mL of hot water. Results: The race completion time was 1.3% faster following the ingestion of COF (04:35.37 [00:10.51] min:s.ms) compared with DEC (04:39.14 [00:11.21] min:s.ms; P = .018; 95% confidence interval [CI], −0.11 to −0.01; d = 0.32) and 1.9% faster compared with PLA (04:41.00 [00:09.57] min:s.ms; P = .006; 95% CI, −0.15 to −0.03; d = 0.51). A large trial and time interaction for salivary caffeine concentration was observed (P < .001; ), with a very large increase (6.40 [1.57] μg·mL−1; 95% CI, 5.5–7.3; d = 3.86) following the ingestion of COF. However, only a trivial difference between DEC and PLA was observed (P = .602; 95% CI, −0.09 to 0.03; d = 0.17). Furthermore, only trivial differences were observed for blood glucose (P = .839; ) and lactate (P = .096; ) and maximal heart rate (P = .286; ) between trials. Conclusions: The results of this study show that 60 minutes after ingesting 0.09 g·kg−1 of caffeinated coffee, 1-mile race performance was enhanced by 1.9% and 1.3% compared with placebo and decaffeinated coffee, respectively, in trained male runners.
