In this study, the distribution and cycling of DOC and DON, and particulate organic carbon and nitrogen (POC and PON) were investigated in North Sea surface and bottom water during the stratified summer season in 2011 and 2012, along with other key biogeochemical parameters such as nutrients. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a key neurotransmitter for reproductive control. A major site for the control of GABA synthesis is the regulation of synthesis and activity of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD), which exists in three isoforms in goldfish. Previous sequence data suggested that GAD65 and GAD67 originated prior to teleost divergence.
