Abstract:
Background:Disease activity (DA) at conception is one of the main predictors of pregnancy outcomes in women of childbearing age (WoCBA) with rheumatic diseases. Teratogenicity and unawareness about pregnancy compatibility of some disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs might limit the choice of treatment in WoCBA.Objectives:To assess differences in prescription patterns between WoCBA with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and comparator groups, namely postmenopausal women (PMW) and age-matched men. Abstract Introduction: PIK3CA mutations (mut) occur in ~40% of patients (pts) with HR+, HER2- ABC, and lead to phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) pathway hyperactivation, endocrine resistance, and poor survival in advanced disease. Alpelisib, an α-selective PI3K inhibitor and degrader, demonstrated efficacy in combination with fulvestrant in the Phase III SOLAR-1 trial in pts with PIK3CA-mut HR+, HER2- ABC. Notably, treatment benefit was not seen in pts without PIK3CA-mut tumors. Expert guidelines now recommend testing for PIK3CA mut at advanced diagnosis; however, data on PIK3CA mut prevale

Abstract Introduction Effective recruitment and subsequent enrollment of diverse populations is often a challenge in randomized controlled trials, especially those focused on weight loss. In the civilian literature, individuals identified as racial and ethnic minorities, men, and younger and older adults are poorly represented in weight loss interventions. There are limited weight loss trials within military populations, and to our knowledge, none reported participant characteristics associated with enrollment. There may be unique motives and barriers for active duty personnel for enrollment i

The aim of this paper was to identify which psycholinguistic variables are better predictors of performance for healthy participants in a picture naming task and in a picture categorization task. A correlation analysis and a Path analysis were carried out. The correlation analysis showed that naming accuracy and naming latency are significant and positively correlated with lexical frequency and conceptual familiarity variables, whereas they are negatively correlated with H index. Reaction times in the categorization task were negatively correlated with lexical frequency and conceptual familiar

Introduction: Pocket hematoma is a feared complication of cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) placement. About half the patients undergoing the procedure are on anticoagulation with consequent increased frequency of device-pocket hematoma. The risk of hematoma is variable based on the type of anticoagulation therapy. The purpose of this study was to compare the risk of device-hematoma in patients on interrupted novel oral anticoagulants (NOAC) versus uninterrupted vitamin K antagonists (VKA) during the peri-operative period. Methods: We performed a meta-analysis using electronic liter

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the most common type of indolent lymphoma in the Western world, accounting for approximately 30% of lymphoma cases. FL is known for its recurrent nature, necessitating diverse treatment options. The introduction of rituximab, an anti-CD20 antibody, has greatly improved FL outcomes and paved the way for targeted therapies. In this review, we thoroughly explore the structure, mechanism of action, clinical outcomes, and side effects of currently approved monoclonal antibodies (mAb) for FL. Furthermore, we provide insights into ongoing clinical trials and emerging monoc
