Abstract:
The high-temperature properties of new alloys need to be investigated to guide the hot working process. The temperature sensitivity of various microstructures of Fe45Mn15Cr15Ni25 and Fe35Mn15Cr15Ni25Al10 cobalt-free high-entropy alloys was investigated using high-temperature tensile tests. For recrystallized alloys, the increase in aluminum (Al) atoms exacerbates the emergence of serration behavior, prolongs the strain hardening capacity, and delays the decrease in plasticity. The Fe35Mn15Cr15Ni25Al10 alloy, with a high-density precipitated phase, exhibits excellent mechanical properties at 673 K. It has a yield strength of 735 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 1030 MPa, and an elongation of 11%. Ultimately, it has been found that the addition of the element Al improves the strength, oxidation resistance, and thermal stability of the alloy. According to the solid solution strengthening model fitting and nanoindentation results, the temperature sensitivity of the yield strength of the alloy is primarily attributed to the solid solution strengthening and phase interface forces. There is relatively less variation in grain boundary strengthening and precipitation strengthening. The relationship between the mechanical properties and temperature of the alloy can be predicted to guide the machining process of the alloy.

Abstract:
It should be noted that according to information obtained from written sources, the first book for children appeared in India in the 6th century BC. This didactic book tells about the moral and political conversations of a Brahmin in order to educate the ruler's son. The book, written in an entertaining style, consists of stories and fairy tales. In some sources, it is possible to find information that Confucius transcribed Chinese classics for children during that period. However, it is noted that this work has not been completed and the work remains unfinished. In the 600s AD, during the Anglo-Saxon period, monks and other scholars wrote a "textbook" for children. Aldhelm, Abbot of Malmesbury and Bishop of Sherborne, went down in history as the first person to write a textbook for children. His book De Septenario, de Metris, Enigmatibus ac Pedum Regulis contains a long essay on the meaning and use of the number seven in the Bible. Aldhelm assigned 1500 writing samples for children. He used question-and-answer form or wrote in poem form in all his manuals. Bede (673-735) used more imagination than Aldhelm. One of his most famous works was called "De Natura Rerum". Containing information on the natural sciences, history, astronomy and botany, this work has been used as an English textbook for more than three hundred years. Much of the content of Bede's works is a repetition of the scientific treatises of Plato, Aristotle, St. Augustine, and others [4, p.1].

Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between peak force and rate of force development (RFD) obtained from maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVC) of the back muscles and the power produced during a loaded lifting task. A group of 27 resistance-trained and 41 recreationally physically active men performed a maximal isometric strength test of the back muscles and a deadlift to high pull while lifting progressively increasing weights. Peak RFD correlated significantly with the peak and mean power produced during a deadlift to high pull with lower weights (from 20 to 40 kg), with r values ranging from .941 to .673 and from .922 to .633. The r2 values ranged from .89 to .45 and from .85 to .40, explaining 89%–45% and 85%–40% of total variance. There were also significant relationships between MVC peak force and peak and mean values of power produced during a deadlift to high pull with weights ≥60 kg ( r in range from .764 to .888 and from .735 to .896). Based on r2, a moderate-to-high proportion of variance was explained (58%–79% and 54%–80%). These findings indicate that peak RFD obtained from MVC of the back muscles may be predictive of power performance during a lifting task at light loads. In addition to MVC peak force produced by back muscles, the ability of subjects to develop a high force in a short time should be evaluated in order to gain deeper insight into a loaded lifting performance, namely, in those prone to low back pain.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND In this interventional study, we addressed the selection and application of clinical interventions on pediatric patients identified as at risk by a predictive model for readmissions. METHODS A predictive model for readmissions was implemented, and a team of providers expanded corresponding clinical interventions for at-risk patients at a freestanding children’s hospital. Interventions encompassed social determinants of health, outpatient care, medication reconciliation, inpatient and discharge planning, and postdischarge calls and/or follow-up. Statistical process control charts were used to compare readmission rates for the 3-year period preceding adoption of the model and clinical interventions with those for the 2-year period after adoption of the model and clinical interventions. Potential financial savings were estimated by using national estimates of the cost of pediatric inpatient readmissions. RESULTS The 30-day all-cause readmission rates during the periods before and after predictive modeling (and corresponding 95% confidence intervals [CI]) were 12.5% (95% CI: 12.2%–12.8%) and 11.1% (95% CI: 10.8%–11.5%), respectively. More modest but similar improvements were observed for 7-day readmissions. Statistical process control charts indicated nonrandom reductions in readmissions after predictive model adoption. The national estimate of the cost of pediatric readmissions indicates an associated health care savings due to reduced 30-day readmission during the 2-year predictive modeling period at $2 673 264 (95% CI: $2 612 431–$2 735 364). CONCLUSIONS A combination of predictive modeling and targeted clinical interventions to improve the management of pediatric patients at high risk for readmission was successful in reducing the rate of readmission and reducing overall health care costs. The continued prioritization of patients with potentially modifiable outcomes is key to improving patient outcomes.

Abstract:
As a monk at the famous Northumbrian monastery of Jarrow, the Venerable Bede (673–735) produced a body of exegetical work that enjoyed enormous popularity throughout the Middle Ages. Something of that spirit seems to have reawakened in recent years, as Bede's commentaries are increasingly being studied and made available to wider audiences in English translation. One distinctive feature of this development is a growing awareness that Bede's reputation as an exegete is more multifaceted than has been previously realized, that it goes beyond what Beryl Smalley called “his faithful presentation of the tradition in its many aspects. Whereas earlier interpreters were content to regard Bede as a mere compiler reputed for his good sense and able Latinity, scholars are now paying homage to him as a penetrating and perceptive biblical commentator who did more than reproduce the thought of the fathers who preceded him. As I intend to show in what follows, Bede's treatment of prayer and contemplation in his exegesis attests well to this quality of his thought. The topic to date has received only minimal commentary, mainly on what Bede actually taught about prayer. My approach will be different. I begin with a discussion not of Bede's exegetical method but of his occupations and aims as a spiritual writer. Neither Bede's spirituality nor his role as spiritual writer have received the attention they deserve, and it is hoped that the reflections offered here will help rekindle interest in these neglected subjects. I then consider four prayer-related themes in his exegesis that bring his aims as a spiritual writer into view. Patristic tradition had commented widely on prayer, and Bede, we will see, did not set out to summarize this tradition in its entirety but rather to highlight and distill certain themes within it, those that best suited the needs of his Anglo-Saxon audience.

Abstract:
Introduction: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most prevalent renal cancer in adults, with a rising global incidence. There has long been an ambiguity about the effect of statin administration on the incidence of RCC. The present meta-analysis aims to evaluate the relationship between statin usage and RCC. Materials and Methods: Cochrane, Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed databases, as well as the Google Scholar search engine, were queried for relevant articles. The data were statistically analyzed by STATA 14 software. The significance level of the tests was considered P<0.05. Results: In 15 reviewed articles, 46 735 subjects used statin, and 673 752 did not. The odds ratio (OR) between statin usage and the risk incidence of RCC was 0.86 (OR: 0.86; 95% CI: 0.63, 1.17) overall and estimated as 0.94 (OR: 0.94; 95% CI: 0.69, 1.28) in males and 0.92 (OR: 0.92; 95% CI: 0.66, 1.28) in females. The odds ratio of statin administration and the incidence risk of RCC was 0.74 (OR: 0.74; 95% CI: 0.37, 1.49) in case-control and 0.96 (OR: 0.96; 95% CI: 0.79, 1.17) in cohort studies. In addition, the impact of statin usage on overall survival (OS) in RCC was 0.65 (HR: 0.65; 95% CI: 0.53, 0.80), and this relationship was statistically significant. However, the effect of statin usage was 0.68 (HR: 0.68; 95% CI: 0.45, 1.02) on progression-free survival (PFS) and 1.24 (OR: 1.24; 95% CI: 0.66, 2.32) on disease progression (DP), and these relationships were statistically non-significant. Conclusion: The OS of RCC patients was 35% higher in statin users than in non-users. However, no relationship between statin usage and the incidence risk of RCC was found. Meta-analysis Registration: This study has been compiled based on the PRISMA checklist, and its protocol was registered on the PROSPERO website (CRD42023393647).

References 85The phenomena of learning and memory are inherent to neural systems that differ from each other markedly. The differences, at the molecular, cellular and anatomical levels, reflect the wealth of possible instantiations of two neural learning and memory universals: (i) an extensive functional connectivity that enables a large repertoire of possible responses to stimuli; and (ii) sensitivity of the functional connectivity to activity, allowing for selection of adaptive responses. These universals can now be fully realized in ex-vivo developing neuronal networks due to advances in multi-electrode recording techniques and desktop computing. Applied to the study of ex-vivo networks of neurons, these approaches provide a unique view into learning and memory in networks, over a wide range of spatio-temporal scales. In this review, we summarize experimental data obtained from large random developing ex-vivo cortical networks. We describe how these networks are prepared, their structure, stages of functional development, and the forms of spontaneous activity they exhibit (Sections 2–4). In Section 5 we describe studies that seek to characterize the rules of activity-dependent changes in neural ensembles and their relation to monosynaptic rules. In Section 6, we demonstrate that it is possible to embed functionality into ex-vivo networks, that is, to teach them to perform desired firing patterns in both time and space. This requires ‘closing a loop’ between the network and the environment. Section 7 emphasizes the potential of ex-vivo developing cortical networks in the study of neural learning and memory universals. This may be achieved by combining closed loop experiments and ensemble-defined rules of activity-dependent change.

Abstract:
BackgroundSarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disorder which involves many organs, including eyes. International Workshop on Ocular Sarcoidosis (IWOS) criteria for diagnosis of ocular sarcoidosis (OS) were first published in 2009 and revised in 2019 (question-based survey and panel discussion)[1-2]. IWOS criteria is a remarkable tool to relate uveitis to sarcoidosis, especially when ocular is the first manifestation in the systemic disease. Due to the consequences of OS, identify and initiate appropriate therapy is essential.ObjectivesTo compare the results of IWOS criteria applied in the same population.MethodsWe studied a large cohort (n=384) of all consecutive patients diagnosed with sarcoidosis from January 1, 1999, to December 31, 2019. Finally, 344 patients were included according to the ATS/ERS/WASOG criteria[3]. First (2009) and revised (2019) IWOS criteria were applied to patients diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and ocular symptoms and the results were compared in both groups for our population. Concordance between 2009 and 2019 IWOS criteria was evaluated by calculating Cohen´s kappa coefficient.Results65 (51% men) of 344 patients had ocular involvement (18.9%), mean age 56.7±16.3 years. As for nationality, 92.3% were Spaniard and 7.7% were South American. A positive biopsy for sarcoidosis was obtained in 75.4% (n=49) and a negative biopsy in 6.2% (n=4). There was no statistically significative difference between diagnostic groups for IWOS 2009/IWOS 2019 in age (p=0.738/p=0.495), sex (p=0.534/p=0.459) nor nationality (p=0.529/p=0.393). When applied 2009 IWOS criteria, 60% (39 patients) met any of the diagnostic categories (43.1%Definitive, 13.8%Presumed, 1.5%Probable, 1.5%Possible). When 2019 IWOS criteria was applied, 53.8% (35 patients) met any of the new diagnostic categories (43.1%Definitive, 7.7%Presumed, 3.1%Probable). Sensitivity for IWOS 2009 was 0.6 and for IWOS 2019 was 0.53. There was statistically significative concordance between 2009 and 2019 IWOS criteria (p<0.0001) with a strong consistency level (kappa = 0.824). When analyzing IWOS categories separately, we found total concordance in theDefinitivecategory.ProbableandPossiblecategories in 2009 criteria have been merged in only probable in 2019 criteria and there is a total concordance when comparing both.Presumedcategory represent the bigger change in the revised criteria. We found statistically significative concordance (p=0.000008) with a moderate consistency level (kappa = 0,524).ConclusionThe revised 2019 IWOS criteria is less sensitive in our population; however, the main difference is in the categoryPresumed: the requirement of at least 2 intraocular signs of uveitis led to a change of 9 patients (13,8%) in 2009 IWOS down to 5 (7.7%) in 2019. In our population IWOS criteria is still has a low sensitivity.References[1]Mochizuki M, Smith et al. Br J Ophthalmol.

Abstract:
Abstract An awakened interest in the Apocalypse can be discerned in the Carolingian Age with Bede “the Venerable “ (c. 673-735), whose commentary on the book of Revelation evinces historical movement under apocalyptic symbolism. Together with Ambrosius Autpertus (d. 778 or 781), Bede carries us forward to the sharpened historical and polemical exegesis associated with apocalyptic thought in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. The question of the identity of our two witnesses placed within a firm temporal framework will take on a new liveliness in the period ahead.
