Abstract:

Microbial metabolites have been identified as a promising class of natural herbicides due to their effective control against weeds and a relatively low environmental impact. Here we report on the potency and crop safety of a natural compound with herbicidal properties, the metabolite SPRI-70014 from Streptomyces griseolus CGMCC 1370. The compound showed excellent herbicidal activities on various broadleaf and gramineous weeds in both greenhouse and field trials. In germination inhibition experiments, SPRI-70014 inhibited the emergence of both root and shoot at 1 mg L−1. At a dose of 31.3 g ai ha−1, SPRI-70014 provided effective control over most broadleaf weeds in greenhouse trials. Observations on absorption and translocation using a cucumber plant model system indicated that SPRI-70014 could be absorbed by the root but only partly by the stem. Field trials showed that SPRI-70014 provided effective control over most weed species tested at a dose of 1,000 g ai ha−1. Crop safety experiments showed that the compound had no harmful effect on peanut or wheat plants at doses up to 2,000 g ai ha−1. These results indicated that this compound could be developed as a potential POST herbicide for control of broadleaf weeds in peanut and wheat fields.

Abstract:

Introdução: Deficiências como fraqueza muscular tendem a aumentar com o envelhecimento e a incapacidade pode ameaçar a qualidade de vida dos idosos. Objetivo: investigar se há correlação entre preensão manual e incapacidade em idosos comunitários. Métodos: Participaram 62 idosos (70,14 ± 6,29 anos). Foram investigados: idade, sexo, nível de escolaridade, estado civil, classe econômica, função física (força de preensão manual) e incapacidade pelo instrumento WHODAS 2.0. Estatística: descritiva e Coeficiente de Correlação de Spearman. Resultados: Os idosos apresentaram média de idade de 70,14 anos e, em sua maioria, eram do sexo feminino, casados, baixo grau de escolaridade e renda média-baixa. Observou-se correlação negativa estatisticamente significativa entre a incapacidade e força de pensão manual, assim como entre preensão manual e cognição e mobilidade no WHODAS. Os demais domínios do WHODAS não apresentaram correlação significativa com a preensão manual. Conclusão: A função física avaliada foi correlacionada com níveis de incapacidades nos idosos.

Abstract:

This research is motivated by the lack of learning outcomes students' reading comprehension, particularly on the subjects of Indonesian. For that research by applying instant learning strategy assessment, the purpose of this research is to improve the ability of third-grade students' reading comprehension SDN 005 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam Rokan Hulu. This research is a class act, committed in Tapah Pagaran SDN 005 Darussalam. The subjects were students of class III with a number of students as many as 33 people. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle stages in this study were: 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, and reflection. The results of the study before action learning outcomes of students' reading comprehension only reached 66.62% in the medium category. In the first cycle of learning outcomes students 'reading comprehension has reached 70.14%, although it has not reached mastery individuals or groups, but the learning outcomes of students' reading comprehension in the first cycle increased from 66.62% to 70.14%. After the improvements on the activities of teachers and students in the second cycle, students' reading comprehension learning outcomes achieved quite satisfactory to reach an average of 77.70%. This situation shows that the improvement of learning on the subjects of Indonesian to use the Instant learning strategy assessment was successful.

Abstract:

Abstract The murine MHC Ib molecule Qa-1b is known to play roles in both antigen presentation during infection by intracellular pathogens, as well as an immunoregulatory role in autoimmune and viral infection disease models. It has been shown that Qa-1b is able to suppress NK cell and CD8+ T cell activity through the interaction of Qa-1b /self-peptide complexes with inhibitory CD94/NKG2A molecules on activated effector cells. We find that Qa-1b expression is upregulated on a variety of cell types in a mouse model of low-dose, aerogenic infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Further, Mtb-infected, Qa-1b -deficient mice demonstrate increased production of INF-γ and IL-17A as compared to wild-type mice, suggesting that Qa-1b primarily plays an immunoregulatory role in Mtb infection. Qa-1b -deficient mice also display increased expression of inhibitory CD94/NKG2A complexes on CD8+ T cells during infection, indicating a potential mechanism by which Qa-1b is able to control immune responses during Mtb infection.

Abstract:

The purpose of this community empowerment is to provide useful information to enable students write effective scientific papers. Adequate guidance on the practical application of Mendeley reference management system was incorporated. This activity was conducted online using Zoom and commenced with a discussion on scientific works, paraphrasing techniques, and subsequently ended by analyzing Mendeley reference management system and its application. A total of 438 participants were recorded in the survey with 70.14% of them reacted positively to the event. Furthermore, the activity is expected to continue in the future, with broader discussions on related topics.

Abstract:

In this paper, the chemical-thermal composite of coal gangue activation and influence factors is studied. Using adopting Al3+ dissolution rate as an evaluation index to determine the activation conditions, XRD is used to determine the crystal structure and SEM scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for crystal morphology. The results shows that the best activation conditions of calcination for coal gangue activation time is1.5h, under the condition of calcination temperature 650°C, water cooling, the Al3+ dissolution rate can reach 70.14%.After activation of coal gangue, the kaolinite convert directly into cetakaolinite, its active composition SiO2 and Al2O3 present loose shape, good activation, can be used as an adsorbent and catalyst materials.

Abstract:

SUMMARYA 3-step procedure for cloningTheileria parvaparasites was developed. The first step involved thein vitroinfection of a fixed number of bovine lymphocytes with titrated sporozoites. The cell lines obtained from infections initiated using sporozoite/lymphocyte ratios below 1:100 were then selected for cloning as these contained schizont-infected cells, each of which was derived from infection with a single sporozoite. In the second step, these cell lines were cloned by limiting dilution. As sporozoites infect lymphocytes and transform to induce clonal multiplication, this step produced infected cell lines containing both cloned parasites and cloned lymphocytes. In the third step, the cloned cell lines were used to infect cattle and isolation of the parasite in ticks was made during piroplasm parasitaemia. Finally, sporozoites were harvested from infected ticks and used for further characterization. Sporozoites derived from cloned cell lines ofT. parvaMuguga, Marikebuni, Boleni, Uganda and buffalo-derived 7014 were characterized using monoclonal antibody profiles, DNA restriction fragment length polymorphism detected using repetitive and telomeric probes,in vivoinfectivity and, in one case, cross-immunity studies. Additionally, several distinct schizont-infected lymphocyte clones were isolated from the Muguga, Mariakani and buffalo-derived 7014 stocks. The combined results of the characterization revealed that the cloning procedure selected clones ofT. parvafrom the parental stocks which were known to contain a mixture of genetically different parasite populations. The cloning method and the clones generated will be of value in studies of the biology of the parasite and in elucidating the strain specificity of immune responses in cattle.

AbstractCounseling is done to improve the knowledge of respondents. Counseling using video media has a real picture and liked the target. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of counseling using video and images of free sex knowledge in adolescents. The research method used quasi experimental design with Pretest-posttest control design design in this study there are two groups selected by simple random sampling. The population in this study is students of class XI In Vocational High School 1 Nawangan country Nawangan which amounted to 178 person. The overall sample in this study were 54 respondents, for each treatment group 27 respondents. The data were processed using computter program with paired T-Test to see the significance difference between pretest-postest of each counseling medium and Independent T-test to see the effectiveness between video and image media, significance level (p) ≤ 0.05. The result of the research shows the counseling using video media with the highest value of pretest 75, average 60,65. Posttest the highest value of 100 averages 81.02. Counseling using image media pretest value score highest score 87,5 on average 60,19. While the highest posttest value of 93.75 averaged 70.14. Pursuant to result of independent T-test obtained p value = 0,005, which mean p value smaller than α = 0,05. So there is a significant difference between video and image media extension.The conclusion of this research is counseling using video media more effective than image media in increasing free sex knowledge in adolescent. It is expected to increase the knowledge of free sex in adolescent In Vocational High School 1 Nawangan country Nawangan institutions using video as a media counseling.Keywords: Video, image, knowledge, free sex, adolescents.AbstrakPenyuluhan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan responden. Penyuluhan menggunakan media video mempunyai gambaran yang nyata dan disukai sasaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas penyuluhan menggunakan video dan gambar terhadap pengetahuan seks bebas pada remaja. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan quasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-postest control design dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua kelompok yang dipilih secara simplem random sampling. Populasi pada penelitian ini siswa siswi kelas XI SMK N 1 Nawangan yang berjumlah 178 orang. Sampel keseluruhan pada penelitian ini 54 responden, untuk setiap kelompok perlakuan 27 responden. Data diolah menggunakan Program komputer dengan uji paired T-Test untuk melihat perbedaan signifikas antara pretest-postest masing-masing media penyuluhan dan Independent T-test untuk melihat efektifitas antara media video dan gambar, tingkat kemaknaan (p) ≤ 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penyuluhan menggunakan media video iilai tertinggi pretest 75, rata-rata 60,65. Posttest nilai tertinggi 100 rata-rata 81,02. Penyuluhan menggunakan media gambar nilai pretest skor nilai tertinggi 87,5 rata-rata 60,19. Sedangkan posttest nilai tertinggi 93,75 rata-rata 70,14. Berdasarkan hasil uji T-test Independen diperoleh nilai p=0,005, yang berarti nilai p lebih kecil dari α=0,05. Sehingga Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan yang antara penyuluhan media video dan gambar. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penyuluhan menggunakan media video lebih efektif daripada media gambar dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan seks bebas pada remaja. Diharapkan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan seks bebas pada remaja instansi SMK N Nawangan menggunakan video sebagai media penyuluhan.Kata kunci: Video, gambar, pengetahuan,seks bebas, remaja.

Abstract:

Strategi dalam pengendalian kejahatan narkoba tidak bisa didasari melalui intervensi berupa larangan saja, akan tetapi memahami pola kejahatan narkoba akan menjadi lebih baik dalam pengendaliannya, terutama untuk pencegahan dan kewaspadaan. Dengan menggunakan teknik data mining, insigth terhadap kejahatan narkoba dapat didefinisikan dengan baik, salah satunya dengan algoritma klasifikasi decision tree. Ada beberapa algoritma dengan basis decision tree, seperti ID3, C4.5, dan CHAID. Dengan banyaknya pilihan algoritma, maka metode perbandingan algoritma dipilih oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini, tujuannya untuk menentukan algoritma yang paling tepat dalam menganalisis data. Performa akurasi menjadi tolok ukur dalam perbandingannya, dan hasil dari perbandingan yang dilakukan, penulis memilih algoritma CHAID sebagai pemodelannya dengan nilai akurasi sebesar 73.89%, sedangkan yang lainnya masing-masing memiliki nilai akurasi sebesar 70.14% untuk ID3 dan 72.44% untuk C4.5.

Abstract:

An ultra-high-sensitivity, miniaturized Fabry-Perot interferometric (FPI) fiber-optic microphone (FOM) has been developed, utilizing a silicon cantilever as an acoustic transducer. The volumes of the cavity and the FOM are determined to be 60 microliters and 102 cubic millimeters, respectively. The FOM has acoustic pressure sensitivities of 1506 nm/Pa at 2500 Hz and 26,773 nm/Pa at 3233 Hz. The minimum detectable pressure (MDP) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the designed FOM are 0.93 μPa/Hz1/2 and 70.14 dB, respectively, at an acoustic pressure of 0.003 Pa. The designed FOM has the characteristics of ultra-high sensitivity, low MDP, and small size, which makes it suitable for the detection of weak acoustic signals, especially in the field of miniaturized all-optical photoacoustic spectroscopy.

Abstract:

AbstractVocabulary is a important element in learning Arabic. Without learning it is impossible to master language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. But student’s understanding of vocabulary is still lacking, one of the contributing factors is the teachers still use conventional media. This article focus on developing vocabulary learning media using Benime. The purpose of this study was described of need analysis, design, develop and disseminate of vocabulary learning media using Benime. The method used is Research and Development with model 4D. The results showed that needs analysis of teacher with the value of 100 % and students of 90,16 %. Assessment of media validator 88,88 % and matter validator 82,14 %. Practicality of the media based on teacher responses shows the value 91,50% and students responseof 86,76 %. The effectiveness of the media seen from the pretest results 70,14 and posttest results 92,50.

Abstract:

CRISPR-Cas9 technology is reshaping the way scientists conduct research in genetic engineering. It is predicted to revolutionise not only the fields of medicine, biology, agriculture and industry but, much like all revolutionary technologies of the past, the way humans live. Given the anticipated and already seen benefits of CRISPR-Cas 9 in different areas of human life, this new technology may be defined as a true breakthrough scientific discovery. The article presents several challenges connected with various dimensions of the CRISPR-Cas 9 patent landscape. The central argument is that today the biggest challenge is finding a intermediary way that ensures a balance between providing sufficient openness for the further progress of basic research in CRISPR-Cas 9 such as ‘niche’ areas of the latest genetic engineering and adequate intellectual property rights to incentivise its commercialisation and application. The article contends the endeavours by academic scientific institutions to arrive at short-term benefits of the new CRISPR-Cas 9 technology do not constitute such an intermediary way, especially when the CRISPR-Cas 9 patent landscape is viewed as part of a series of controversial bioethical discussions that have been underway for over 40 years.

En este artículo se examinan los procesos de salida de una relación violenta en el caso de mujeres mayores, con especial interés en la existencia de elementos que dificultan específicamente la búsqueda de ayuda y la separación. La necesidad de este análisis se deriva de la constatación de que, aunque las mujeres mayores experimentan violencia de género en proporción similar al conjunto de mujeres, son muy pocas las que denuncian esta violencia y su presencia en los recursos sociales existentes para supervivientes también es muy reducida. Se trata, además, de un tema escasamente estudiado por la literatura, algo que, en un contexto de creciente desarrollo académico en materia de violencia de género, progresivo reconocimiento del paradigma interseccional y simultáneo envejecimiento de la población es cada vez menos aceptable. Las pocas investigaciones existentes, además, tienden a mantener una mirada ciega al género, algo que limita fuertemente su capacidad de comprender el fenómeno estudiado. Para el análisis, se ha planteado una metodología cualitativa, realizando ocho entrevistas en profundidad con mujeres supervivientes, un grupo de discusión con profesionales de recursos especializados y otro con mujeres mayores asociadas. Se observa así que existen una serie de factores de nivel individual-subjetivo, familiar e institucional que dificultan específicamente la búsqueda de ayuda y salida de la relación en el caso de mujeres mayores y que remiten fundamentalmente a los efectos de la intersección entre el sexismo y el edadismo que permean la sociedad.

Abstract:

La construcción en tierra está presente en todo el mundo. Muchas de estas construcciones se encuentran en regiones sísmicas y tienen una vulnerabilidad alta. Con el fin de reducir esta vulnerabilidad se propone una estrategia integrada que consiste en un refuerzo externo con elementos de madera en ambas direcciones y en ambos lados de los muros (en tapia pisada) simultáneamente con la implementación de un diafragma rígido por medio de una viga de coronación en concreto. Se propone que la viga se construya con una transición entre la tierra y el concreto para mejorar la compatibilidad. Los resultados de ensayos en mesa vibratoria en un modelo a escala 1:6 y su contraparte no reforzada muestran una mejora significativa en el comportamiento global de la construcción (reducción en los desplazamientos hasta del 80% en los modelos reforzados), logrando el objetivo de prevenir el colapso, manteniendo la integridad de la estructura.

Lysinibacillus massiliensis is an aerobic, endospore-forming, gram-negative staining bacterium with peritrichous flagella belonging to the Bacillaceae family. A few cases of L. massiliensis isolated from the cerebrospinal fluid and tissue have been reported. In this study, we aimed to describe a case of L. massiliensis isolated from the synovial fluid. The synovial fluid from a 74-year-old female patient was inoculated into blood culture bottle. Gram-negative rods were observed in a gram-stained smear from a positive blood culture bottle. The bacterium was identified as Lysinibacillus sphaericus/Lysinibacillus fusiformis, with a probability of 89% using an automated bacterial identification system (VITEK2; Biomerieux, France). Subsequently, 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed, and the sequence was analyzed using the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool. The sequence had 99.9% (1426/1427) identity with the strain L. massiliensis (GenBank ID: NR_043092.1). To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of L. massiliensis isolated from the synovial fluid. When an endospore-forming gram-negative staining bacterium can not be identified by phenotypic characterization, L. massiliensis should be considered, and different microbiological methods should be used for identification.

En 1985, Brasil salía de un periodo de 21 años de dictadura y abría un proceso constituyente para lograr una redemocratización. La Constitución de 1988 fue nombrada como «ciudadana» porque reforzó los derechos civiles e introdujo derechos colectivos de pueblos indígenas y otros pueblos tradicionales, derechos colectivos sobre el medio ambiente y la cultura, además de derechos a la vivienda, a la salud, a la educación y de los consumidores. No fue fácil la implementación de esos derechos y el presente trabajo analiza la aplicación de los derechos de los pueblos y de la naturaleza, dividiéndolos en tres periodos particulares. El primero, desde la promulgación de la Constitución, en 1988, hasta la elección de Lula da Silva y su posesión en 2003; periodo marcado por la aplicación de políticas neoliberales en contraposición con las normas constitucionales colectivas. El segundo periodo, representado por los gobiernos de Lula y de Dilma Rousseff, del 2003 hasta el 2016, cuando la presidenta es alejada para que asuma su vicepresidente; periodo marcado por un desarrollismo contradictorio con los derechos colectivos. El tercer periodo, a partir del 2016, caracterizado por la intención de destruir la Constitución.

In “Lusus Naturae,” Margaret Atwood shows her predilection for the machinations of Gothic fiction. She resorts to gothic conventions to express female experience and explore the psychological but also the physical victimisation of the woman in a patriarchal system. Atwood employs the female monster metaphor to depict the passage from adolescence to womanhood through a girl who undergoes a metamorphosis into a “vampire” as a result of a disease, porphyria. The vampire as a liminal gothic figure, disrupts the boundaries between reality and fantasy/supernatural, human and inhuman/animal, life and death, good and evil, femme fatale and virgin maiden. By means of the metaphor of the vampire woman, Atwood unveils and contests the construction of a patriarchal gender ideology, which has appalling familial and social implications.

El discurso de Perón del 11 de noviembre de 1953 es un parteaguas de al menos dos historias: la del peronismo en Argentina, y la del pensamiento geopolítico en Sudamérica. El entonces presidente argentino, que también ejercía el rol de ideólogo principal del movimiento político que lideraba, explica aquí las razones de su proyecto de integración regional, el ABC sudamericano. Expone su versión sobre las causas del fracaso, y propone un cambio de estrategia, que es la apelación al pueblo. En ese momento, se produce un cambio en su visión geopolítica: convoca a una ruptura con las categorías y conceptos del pasado, y a la adopción de una (geo)estrategia nacional-popular para la consecución de transformaciones geográficas y sociales. Este cambio ha sido analizado en clave histórica, considerando al contexto particular de la Guerra Fría que afectaba a los gobiernos sudamericanos, pero también se ha construido alrededor de él una teoría del regionalismo sudamericano. Sobre esta segunda dimensión, argumentaremos que la innovación de Perón no fue la decisión de practicar una geopolítica clásica (ratzeliana) desde el Sur, como sostuvieron Methol Ferré y sus discípulos, sino su giro hacia lo que hoy entendemos como geopolítica crítica: además de disentir con el orden hegemónico, descubre la “trampa territorial”, el fin de la geopolítica convencional y los límites de la política exterior de los Estados-nación.
