Roquefortine C (ROC) and mycophenolic acid (MPA) are secondary metabolites produced by various fungal species. It is known that both ROC and MPA may co-occur in raw materials or food. However, to date there is a lack of information regarding their toxicity. In this study, ROC and/or MPA cytotoxicity was evaluated on human intestinal (Caco-2) and monocytic cell cultures (THP-1 and CD14+). The study reported here was designed to determine whether a phytoestrogen-containing soy extract (SSE) could negate/overwhelm the inhibitory effects of ICI 182 780 on the growth of estrogen-sustained human breast cancer xenografts (MCF-7), in ovariectomized athymic mice. Lavender is grown commercially for oil production, but could be grown as a flowering potted plant due to its attractive foliage, blue flowers, and distinct aroma. Superconducting YBa2Cu4O8 ceramics were synthesized by the sol-gel method using corresponding metal acetates as starting materials, water as solvent, and tartaric acid under 1 atm oxygen pressure. The aim of present article was to consider the influence of annealing parameters on evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of dual phase steel. Dual phase steel was annealed according to the three chosen cycles of annealing: into intercritical region (780°C), into austenite region (920°C) and into austenite region (920°C) by subsequently cooling into intercritical region (780°C) with the hold at the temperature of 495°C. The work addresses the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the ultrafine-grained (UFG) VT8M-1 subjected to isothermal die forging (IDF) and subsequent thermal treatment. An UFG microstructure with a mean size of secondary grains of about 0.3 μm was processed by a rotary swaging (RS) at Т=780°С.
