Abstract Abstract 5097 Background: Monoclonal IgM is the biomarker that characterize to Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (WM), a rare low grade B-cell lymphoma derived of the lymphoplasmacytic cell, even serum IgM component also is presented in MGUS. Recently new determinations of heavy chain/light chain immunoglobulins pairs (HLC) have been developed as biomarkers to apply to every day clinical practice. The diagnostic and prognostic potential of these biomarkers is under investigation. The aim of this study is to present our experience in the use of free light chain assay (sFLC) and HLC as bi

BackgroundMany cancer patients initiated supplement use after cancer diagnosis and yet the effect of supplement use on survival has not been established. The trend of and factors associated with dietary supplement use in cancer survivors warrant further investigation.MethodsWe examined the trend of dietary supplemental use in 1,902 adult cancer survivors who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2012, and compared the frequency of supplement use in cancer survivors to that of 3,804 individuals with no history of cancer who were matched to th

Briefly, the method is based on intrinsic fluorescence properties of acridine orange (AO), a molecule taken up by living adherent cells. Dual binding of AO to either DNA or RNA allows complete staini

Authors: Dieter Egli & Gloryn Chia ### Abstract Here we describe detailed methods that allowed us to derive embryonic stem cell lines by nuclear transfer of fibroblasts from a newborn and from a type 1 diabetic adult. The protocol is based on the insight that 1) agents for cell fusion can act as potent mediators of oocyte activation by compromising maintaining plasma membrane integrity; minimizing the concentration at which they are used, and at least transiently remove calcium from the medium can improve developmental potential. 2) and on the insight that an efficient stimulus for oocyte

Risk management suggests that risks should be distributed to minimize their harm since they cannot be completely eliminated, which would have been the easiest option (Szymański, 2017). Authors: Rui Shi, Chenmin Yang, Ronald Sederoff & Vincent Chiang ### Abstract Here we describe a protocol for validating expression of artificial microRNAs (amiRNAs) by poly(A) tailing-based RT-PCR. Total RNAs, including amiRNA, are poly(A) tailed using E.coli. poly(A) polymerase. Poly(A) tailed amiRNA can be converted into cDNA along with mRNAs in a reverse transcription reaction primed by a standard poly(T) anchor adaptor. AmiRNA can then be amplified and quantitated by real-time PCR using an amiRNA specific forward primer and a universal adaptor primer. Because the amiRNA forward primer
