Neuroinflammation, in particular activation of microglia, is thought to play an important role in the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. In activated microglia, the purinergic P2X7 receptor is upregulated. By a closer inspection of the Friedman-Jorgenson-Kramer algorithm related to the prime geodesic theorem on cofinite Fuchsian groups of the first kind, we refine the constants therein. The newly obtained effective upper bound for Huber’s constant is in the modular surface case approximately 74000 74000 -times smaller than the previously claimed one. A protein of Mr 94000 was isolated from detergent-solubilized bovine intestinal, liver and mammary-gland membranes. It binds immunoglobulin M and also undergoes proteolytic fragmentation in a similar manner to bovine secretory component (Mr 74000). SummaryA field experiment was conducted for 2 years during the crop seasons of 1980–2 to study the effect of diverse plant spacings and rates of nitrogen application on the yields of herb and essential oil of palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini Stapf. var. motia). A rat monoclonal antibody, LO SM2, of the immunoglobulin M class, specific for a saliva receptor (SR) from Streptococcus mutans serotype f, was able to precipitate the SR from crude cell-wall-associated antigens (WEA) of this bacteria in presence of a detergent mixture. We have then used the technique of monoclonal-antibody immunoaffinity chromatography to purify the S. mutans SR. Pure SR was obtained from a crude WEA fraction with a single chromatographic step.
