Achievement of high-quality servicing level of cargo owners should be carried out under unconditionally effective use of rolling stock of railways and technical means. The real transport process should be implemented based on logistic cargo supply chains by types of connections for each shipment. The practice of railway operation shows that there is a significant shortage of train locomotives as a result of which the departure of ready trains at rail yard is often not carried out. In such cases, a feedback effect in local elements of interaction of these stations occurs. Due to delay in depart

Every year, about one million cars are uncoupled for running repairs, 2/3 of which are due to wheel failures that are repaired by turning. At the same time, the average idle time of cars in the running repair has already reached 6 days, which negatively affects the performance of transportation. The paper argues for the need to solve the problem of long-term downtime of cars, and the use of mobile technologies to turn wheelsets which can be an effective option.

One of the problems that arise during the operation of gas-balloon vehicles running on compressed natural gas is downtime associated with refueling with motor fuel. Accounting for downtime data is a necessary task when solving the issue of vehicle routing in the transportation of goods and passengers. At motor transport enterprises, this factor is often not taken into account or is determined subjectively based on experience and intuition. This fact leads to an increase in unaccounted for costs and a decrease in the profits of enterprises from transportation activities.

AbstractCommon goods are those natural or man-made resources that serve all members of a particular community and its institutions. Unlike private goods such as cars or mobile phones, all members have free access to commons, i.e., the goods cannot simply be fenced off. As a result, such goods tend to be overused, leading to a loss of welfare-the tragedy of the commons. In this chapter, we discuss the concept of the tragedy of the commons, why it is relevant to global and local environmental problems, and how the social dilemma might be resolved.
