Abstract:
The article deals with the study of electronic segment in the criminal procedural law in Armenia. It proves the use of specialized electronic tools and information systems within the framework of criminal process in Armenia. Among them: a special computer system for recording, archiving data and protecting the system; technical means for controlling and intercepting telephone and other types of communications. The author identifies a number of non-specialized electronic tools applied in criminal proceedings, in particular: audio-visual, video recording, electronic or telegraph technical means; electronic media; means of communication; computer; phone; technical means, etc. The paper also presents the requirements for electronic recording of individual investigative ac-tions carried out by means of photographic work, audio-recording, video-recording, filming. Criminal-Procedural Code of Armenia separately specifies the requirements for electronic recording of interrogation, examination, exhumation, witnessing, person identification by a photograph, submitting a corpse for identi-fication, search, mail monitoring, telegrams and other means of communication, inspection and withdrawal of correspondence, wiretapping of telephone conversations, investigatory experiment, obtaining samples for carrying out expert research. The study focuses on the right of the suspect immediately after his / her deten-tion to notify of his / her whereabouts and the reasons for his / her detention using phone or other means of communication. However, it is possible to delay the effectuation of this right for up to 12 hours, if there is a reasonable assumption that immediate exercise of this right may obstruct crime prevention or will result in destroying or damaging the evidence. Moreover, petition for permission to apply measures of procedural coercion may be sent to the court and supervising prosecutor in electronic format. Procedural actions within criminal proceedings in Armenia are recorded in electronic format through the prism of the procedural action protocol. The hearing is accompanied by electronic recording of its progress and results. Electronic communication is also employed in terms of international cooperation.

Abstract:
Written journals, as a means of enhancing communication between teachers and students, are espoused quite extensively in the literature. But on the university level, where classes do not usually meet every day, the rate of exchange of the journals between an instructor and his or her students can be slowed considerably, thus limiting the benefits usually associated with this form of communication. To increase the exchange rate of journals, it was proposed that electronic mail be utilized as the medium by which the journal entries were transmitted. Eighty students in three sections of a general education required computer literacy course participated in this study. Results from the study found that the students who used electronic journals wrote significantly longer entries than the students who wrote in traditional written journals. No differences were found, though, between treatment groups as to computer-related knowledge and attitudes.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the influence of e-communication (e-meetings and e-conferences) on the communication skills of managers and leaders (decision making, problem solving, consistency, productivity and better work flow). Quantitative approach was employed to achieve the aim; 150 managers and leaders responded to a self-administered questionnaire, which was tackled later using SPSS.The results of the study confirmed an undeniable influence of e-communications on communication skills of managers and leaders within Jordanian mining and manufacturing industries; the most influenced variable was decision-making process associated with the real-time data that e-communication means can provide to decision makers (data, information, figures and numbers), which facilitated a faster ability to take decisions and avoid risks among organizations. The study also demonstrated that electronic meetings and conferences are based on transmitting voice over internet protocol (VoIP), which allows voice to be transmitted over the Internet, which is key to facilitating real-time electronic meetings. The study recommended adopting more electronic means of communication as an approach to avoid loss of time and efforts in face-to-face communication.

Abstract:
The article characterizes the need to use modern information and communication technologies in the work of future translators. The analysis of modern software tools that contribute to the automation and simplification of translation operations, the generalization of work with individual words and fragments of foreign text. The article reveals the peculiarities of the use of translation programs and electronic dictionaries in the training of future translators in the higher education system and their role in the thorough formation of translation competence in future professionals. The research reveals a number of advantages of using electronic translation tools in the work of a translator, defined as modern electronic software helps to select the most accurate equivalents of translation and lexical equivalents. Specialized software is a translator's assistant that automates basic actions, helps to structure and systematize translation activities. The main programs-translators are described. They give the opportunity to instantly translate a sentence or a fragment of text into many languages. Online dictionaries contain a large database of words. They are multilingual. But the final translation of a foreign text depends on the translation actions and transformations of a specialist, electronic software only automates general actions.

McGarry, Donald L. "The Electronic Bulletin Board as a Means of Professional Communication Among Physics Teachers." NSUWorks, 1994. http://nsuworks.nova.edu/gscis_etd/716.

Full text
Abstract:
Teachers of secondary school physics are often physically isolated from their peers; that is, they do not have as much contact with their physics colleagues as they desire. One reason for this physical isolation is the relatively small population of students enrolled in high school physics courses resulting in small numbers of physics teachers per school. Another is that many physics teachers are teaching physics only part time. One method of communication among teachers has the potential to improve professional communication among physics teachers. This is the computer operated electronic bulletin board system (BBS). Bulletin board systems and variants have been studied for more than ten years. At least one is being operated primarily for physics teachers. This study was designed to determine the effectiveness of a BBS as a means of professional communication among physics teachers. Effectiveness was determined by surveying physics teachers in three categories: (1) those who are using a BBS to communicate, (2) those who are members of a physics teachers association, and (3) those who have neither of these formal means of communication available to them. School data (population, graduation requirements, number of physics classes and teachers, etc.) and personal data (years teaching physics, teaching assignment, certification, professional affiliations, etc.) were gathered from all three groups. The experimental group using the BBS was asked to supply additional information about the use of the BBS itself. Data were gathered using a questionnaire. The BBS users were compared to the other groups to determine whether they are representative of the physics teacher population and whether their desires for additional professional communication are similar to that of the physics teacher population. Survey responses by BBS users about the BBS itself were then used to determine the effectiveness of the BBS as a means of professional communication. Statistically significant differences among the three groups were found and are discussed. Comparisons were also made between the three groups and the population of physics teachers in the United States as presented in an American Institute of Physics report. Of greatest importance, differences exist among the three groups when tested for professional contact with physics colleagues. No differences were found among the three groups when desire for additional professional contact was tested. Survey results for the group of BBS users showed that they were experienced computer users who expressed no unusual difficulties with the mechanics of connecting to the BBS. Many did express difficulties with the BBS as a means of professional communication. Two important problems discussed are difficulty in using all system options and the small number of active participants using the BBS. BBS users expressed confidence in the system's potential as a professional communications system, but were less enthusiastic about it had served their needs. Overall, the problems experienced by BBS users were not offset sufficiently by the benefits to make the system as effective a means of professional communication as it could be. The potential of the electronic bulletin board system as a means of communication among physics teachers did not live up to its perceived potential for the group of users studied.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The increase in the complexity and functionality of new satellites leads to a growing demand for a digital communication system operating at a much higher bit rate than before. The main purpose of this thesis is to address precisely this problem. The theory as well as a practical high speed system are custom-developed. The goal of this thesis is not to reinvent the wheel, but to use off-the-shelf products as far as possible. This system demonstrates that a very high data rate is not out of reach for a developer with limited funds. The secondary goal is to understand the operation of this communication system. The emphasis is on the inaccuracies in the system. A design tool is created to act as a vehicle for understanding the influence of a single variable on the performance of the entire system.

Abstract:
The inability to express a decision or a feeling, both provoked by a physical or psychological trauma, exposes the individual to personal and social impacts that sometimes may cause problems in his intellect or live in society. Thinking about this need and studying the methods currently available to this group of people, it was developed an application for tablets and smartphones which helps persons with difficulties in oral communication. Method: Collecting information with professionals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication during their daily work, and making a deep study about the first words and sentences that are necessary when someone wants to be introduced in a new language, we created and classified a database of phrases and expressions. They were associated to the alternative communication symbols in order to be part of a communication board for cellphones and tablets running Android operational system. The application reproduces the sound corresponding to the meaning of the activated image through touch. Results: 400 images with sound make part of the system created as well as the possibility of the user to edit his own board with pictures of the collection. When Falante ́s interface and the architecture of the software used in mobile devices were presented to the volunteers, 80% of them was able to use the system after few minutes of instruction, and 90% used the application at some moment during the therapy to express needs. It proves the benefits that techniques of alternative communication in mobile devices can bring to people with communication difficulties. Conclusion: The prototype was able to reproduce efficiently the sound related to the meaning of the images, resulting in effective communication for children with speech difficulties. It was possible to observe positive emotions expressed by users when their desires and needs were understood and attended. Among the major positive feelings, we point out wellbeing, calmness and courage expressed by the users.

Abstract:
This study looks into the introduction of electronic means in French and German company law.The French legislator already introduced the possibility of participating in shareholders annualgeneral meetings via electronic means in 2001. The law on New Economic Regulations led thegovernment to set the conditions of all the electronic communication between companies andtheir shareholders. In Germany, mainly the ARUG from 2009 modernized the law related to theAGM, by transposing the European directive from 11th July 2007 on the exercise of certain rightsof shareholders in listed companies. The new laws have a shareholder in mind, who would useelectronic means to facilitate the exercise of his rights before and during the AGM, a “cybershareholder”.While the German law seeks to assimilate the electronic communication with thetraditional correspondence, the varying French decrees seem to distinguish between a new legalregime and a traditional one. However, there is no need for a new category of shareholders, which could justify a special legal foundation. The cyber-shareholder is just a shareholderexercising his rights related to information, communication and collective decision-making in theAGM via electronic means

Adapting constantly to new scenarios, society develops with great influence of technology. Smartphones, communication technology present in the various social layers, can contribute to the democratization of access to scientific information. Considering the social dimensions that this fact extends, it is understood that it is necessary to carry out studies that establish an association between the theoretical and practical perspectives that involve such questions. Therefore, the objective of this research is to investigate how smartphones effectively contribute to the access to scientific information by young students of the Álvaro Guião State School, located in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo. The justifications for conducting this research are based on the need to understand how these students currently contemplate aspects related to science. The proposed methodology is based on two aspects: 1) theoretical study through a bibliographical survey, comprising the themes: Scientific dissemination; Scientific information; Scientific communication by electronic means; And Information and Communication Technologies; 2) empirical study - developed based on experimental knowledge of young smartphone users. The data collection instrument used in this research was the questionnaire, applied to a group of young people, students of the third year of high school at the Álvaro Guião school, in the city of São Carlos. The results of the research demonstrated that despite different socioeconomic contexts and social environments among groups of students, there is a valorization of scientific information by the dominant cultural capital in the school environment that encourages them to access scientific dissemination in order to have sociability. It is concluded that the availability of open networks added to the increase in the number of young people who have smartphones, effectively contribute to the scientific dissemination and, consequently, to the access of these students to scientific information.

Abstract:
Email communication has become an integral part of the communication structure within organisations, but the problems it can cause are rarely assessed. The defects associated with email, which are related to both the quantity and the quality of email need to be understood by employees for them to become more effective users of email. Email training within organisations tends to focus on how to use email as a software package, without looking at when it is appropriate to use email and how to get your message across effectively. This thesis first explores email defects and how they impact on organisations.

Abstract:
Thesis (MTech (Public Relations Management))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2011.
This research focuses on whether social media is an effective means of communication to external stakeholders and investigates communication between Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) to its student-stakeholder group on four levels of interaction; namely institution, faculty, department and subjects. It provides answers to the questions, "How does CPUT communicate to students?" "What is the CPUT student-stakeholder's preferred method of communication?" and "What content does the CPUT student-stakeholder want to hear about?" to answer the bigger question, "Is social media an effective means of communication to CPUT students?" Using a conceptual framework based on Edward Freeman's work on stakeholder communication and Grunig's communication theory, the research considers the role that social media could play in the communication mix; whether CPUT should communicate to students using a medium on which they are already active; as well as what is/are an appropriate method/s of communication to reach student-stakeholders. Findings include the students' perception of social media as well as the state of communication from CPUT to the students and the platform/s the student-stakeholder would prefer. Further research is recommended to consider the use of a mobile platform for communication to students.

Yatsymirska, Mariya. SOCIAL EXPRESSION IN MULTIMEDIA TEXTS. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, February 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.49.11072.

Full text
Abstract:
The article investigates functional techniques of extralinguistic expression in multimedia texts; the effectiveness of figurative expressions as a reaction to modern events in Ukraine and their influence on the formation of public opinion is shown. Publications of journalists, broadcasts of media resonators, experts, public figures, politicians, readers are analyzed. The language of the media plays a key role in shaping the worldview of the young political elite in the first place. The essence of each statement is a focused thought that reacts to events in the world or in one’s own country. The most popular platform for mass information and social interaction is, first of all, network journalism, which is characterized by mobility and unlimited time and space. Authors have complete freedom to express their views in direct language, including their own word formation. Phonetic, lexical, phraseological and stylistic means of speech create expression of the text. A figurative word, a good aphorism or proverb, a paraphrased expression, etc. enhance the effectiveness of a multimedia text. This is especially important for headlines that simultaneously inform and influence the views of millions of readers. Given the wide range of issues raised by the Internet as a medium, research in this area is interdisciplinary. The science of information, combining language and social communication, is at the forefront of global interactions. The Internet is an effective source of knowledge and a forum for free thought. Nonlinear texts (hypertexts) – «branching texts or texts that perform actions on request», multimedia texts change the principles of information collection, storage and dissemination, involving billions of readers in the discussion of global issues. Mastering the word is not an easy task if the author of the publication is not well-read, is not deep in the topic, does not know the psychology of the audience for which he writes. Therefore, the study of media broadcasting is an important component of the professional training of future journalists. The functions of the language of the media require the authors to make the right statements and convincing arguments in the text. Journalism education is not only knowledge of imperative and dispositive norms, but also apodictic ones. In practice, this means that there are rules in media creativity that are based on logical necessity. Apodicticity is the first sign of impressive language on the platform of print or electronic media. Social expression is a combination of creative abilities and linguistic competencies that a journalist realizes in his activity. Creative self-expression is realized in a set of many important factors in the media: the choice of topic, convincing arguments, logical presentation of ideas and deep philological education. Linguistic art, in contrast to painting, music, sculpture, accumulates all visual, auditory, tactile and empathic sensations in a universal sign – the word. The choice of the word for the reproduction of sensory and semantic meanings, its competent use in the appropriate context distinguishes the journalist-intellectual from other participants in forums, round tables, analytical or entertainment programs. Expressive speech in the media is a product of the intellect (ability to think) of all those who write on socio-political or economic topics. In the same plane with him – intelligence (awareness, prudence), the first sign of which (according to Ivan Ogienko) is a good knowledge of the language. Intellectual language is an important means of organizing a journalistic text. It, on the one hand, logically conveys the author’s thoughts, and on the other – encourages the reader to reflect and comprehend what is read. The richness of language is accumulated through continuous self-education and interesting communication. Studies of social expression as an important factor influencing the formation of public consciousness should open up new facets of rational and emotional media broadcasting; to trace physical and psychological reactions to communicative mimicry in the media. Speech mimicry as one of the methods of disguise is increasingly becoming a dangerous factor in manipulating the media. Mimicry is an unprincipled adaptation to the surrounding social conditions; one of the most famous examples of an animal characterized by mimicry (change of protective color and shape) is a chameleon. In a figurative sense, chameleons are called adaptive journalists. Observations show that mimicry in politics is to some extent a kind of game that, like every game, is always conditional and artificial.
