Abstract:
Stroke, or cerebrovascular accident, is a major global health problem and one of the leading causes of death and acquired disability worldwide. After a stroke, deficits in perceptual and cognitive functions may arise, with particular emphasis to impairments caused to visuomotor skills. In this way, its stimulation, within a therapeutic rehabilitation context, is truly relevant for the recovery of lost functions. RehabVisual, presented in earlier works, is a digital platform that allows for an objective and standardized assessment of visuomotor skills and specific clinical interventions for eac

Abstract:
There is anecdotal evidence that the rate of complaints and claims against doctors is rising, yet little is known about (Q1) which types of patients are more likely to make a complaint or claim, nor about (Q2) what interventions are effective in reducing rates of complaints and claims and increasing patient satisfaction. This Evidence Check aimed to answer those two questions. The evidence base for both of the questions was of low quality, with only five studies having a comparison group. Twenty-five studies addressed Question 1. The only patient characteristic to have a consistent effect on r

Abstract:
This review of the literature on suicide prevention programs targeting people who identify as LGBTQI found scant research in this area. However, the available evidence allows tentative directions to be drawn to guide prevention efforts targeting this group. Studies included in the review looked at legislative initiatives (e.g. same-sex marriage), community programs and therapeutic interventions. Legislation was found to play an important role by promoting equality and prohibiting discrimination and school based programs appear to show promise in reducing suicide among LGBQTI youth.
