Abstract:
The pharmacodynamics (PD) of voriconazole activity against Aspergillus spp. were studied using a new in vitro dynamic model simulating voriconazole human pharmacokinetics (PK), and the PK-PD data were bridged with human drug exposure to assess the percent target (near-maximum activity) attainment of different voriconazole dosages. Three Aspergillus clinical isolates (1 A. fumigatus, 1 A. flavus, and 1 A. terreus isolate) with CLSI MICs of 0.5 mg/liter were tested in an in vitro model simulating voriconazole PK in human plasma with Cmax values of 7, 3.5, and 1.75 mg/liter and a t1/2 of 6 h. These plants were selected to evaluate the possibility of new fungicides. But there were results where these plants couldn’t be seen effective against plant pathogenic fungi. These plants were also tested in synergism to see the possibility of finding such a combination which can prove effective against fungi. Therefore, in the present study individual and synergistic e

Aspergillosis is the most common fungal infection caused by molds, especially in high-risk patients. The treatment of these diseases is based on the use of polyene and azole antifungal drugs. Resistance rates of Aspergillus species to antifungal drugs vary widely across medical centers around the world. Antifungal susceptibility testing of Aspergillus species to antifungal agents could provide useful information for clinicians to make decision regarding the patient therapy. The aim of the study was to evaluate the antifungal susceptibility profile of Aspergillus species towards amphotericin B,

Aspergillosis is a fungal disease caused by Aspergillus, a saprophytic filamentous fungus that can be found in the air. Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is known to affect immunocompromised patients. 80 sputum samples were collected from cancer patients infected with pneumonia. This sample was cultured on SDA for isolation and identification of Aspergillus spp. and diagnosis by macroscopic and microscopic examination. The result shows that Aspergillus represents 26 (86.7 %) and the most mold causes pneumonia; A.fumigatus represents 12 (40 %), followed by A.niger 8 (26.7%), A.terrus 4(13.3%) an

The present study examined the biopreservative efficacy of Trametes polyzona extracts on tomato fruits. Microorganisms associated with the spoilage of tomato fruits were isolated and identified using standard microbiological methods. Pathogenicity test of all the microbial isolates were also done using standard techniques. Qualitative and quantitative phytochemical constituents of Trametes polyzona was also assessed. Moreover, antimicrobial effect and preservative potential of the extracts of Trametes polyzona on microbial isolates of tomato and the tomato fruits were assessed respectively. Th
