A frenum is a fold of mucous membrane that connects the labial mucosa (lips) to the gingiva or that connects the tongue to the floor of the mouth and hence providing support to the lips and the tongue. The normal frenal attachment is at the level of mucogingival junction (mucosal) and hence maintaining a balance between the interproximal contacts of the anterior teeth of either maxilla or mandible. But if this frenal attachment is high or in other words if there is a an aberrant frenum, then this type of frenal attachment either results in spacing between the anterior teeth or in some cases ca

Abstract:
A new genus, Cerritulus gen. nov., with type species, C. forticrura sp. nov., are described from French Guiana based on a single specimen that is considerably distinct morphologically from all known Neotropical genera. The new genus is only partially similar to the enigmatic, monotypic Asian genera Ceylonspathius Belokobylskij and Termitospathius Beloko-bylskij, whose species were collected inside termite nests. We provide colour pictures for the type species of the above three genera.

AbstractLaboratory bioassays were carried out on two species of phytoseiid mites to investigate their resistance to the fungicide mancozeb. Susceptible and suspected resistant strains of Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans) and Typhlodromus pyri Scheuten were tested. Mancozeb resistance factors were low to moderate: they reached 6.3 and 11.7 for K. aberrans and T. pyri, respectively. Intrinsic toxicity of mancozeb was approximately 5–10-fold more pronounced in females of K. aberrans than in females of T. pyri. The female susceptibility pattern of the most resistant strain of K. aberrans was quite

AbstractStudy of a large number of aberrant verb forms (‘écarts de la norme’) in Canadian French reveals a variety of pressures, paradigm levelling, markedness reduction and iconicity in particular, affecting the inflectional structures. These verb forms, when seen in the light of the theoretical proposals of Natural Morphology, permit a ranking of naturalness principles within that approach and contribute to proposals for the resolution of ‘naturalness conflicts’.

<strong>Introduction:&nbsp;</strong>The maxillary frenulum can cause aesthetic problems or jeopardize orthodontic results in cases of central diastema, causing relapse after treatment. One of the etiologic factors of central diastema persistence is an aberrant frenulum. The most common way to diagnose frenulum attachment is with the blanch test. One of the treatments for aberrant frenulum is frenectomy. Frenectomy can reduce the risk of relapse from central diastema closure. The purpose of this case report is to describe the stages of frenectomy in a case of maxillary central diastema. <strong

Recent studies identified that ARMC5 mutations occur frequently in BMAH, but the relation between ARMC5 mutation and the expression of aberrant G-protein-coupled receptor has not been examined in detail yet.MethodsWe studied a large French-Canadian family with BMAH and sub-clinical or overt CS. Treatment modalities like electrosurgery and lasers have emerged as effective painless alternatives to scalpel methods for a frenectomy. The present case series involves ten patients, diagnosed with abnormal frenal attachments. Frenectomy was performed by 980 nm diode laser and scalpel methods. Scalpel frenectomy was performed as described by Archer and Kruger. Laser-assisted frenectomy was performed by a hemostat-guided incision using a 980 nm diode laser tip in a paintbrush motion. It was observed that Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) pain scores in patients who underwent scalpel frenectomy were

Introduction: A "midline diastema" arises when there is a space of more than 0.5 millimeters between the proximal surfaces of two consecutive teeth. There is usually open space between the two central incisors. Depending on its width, a midline diastema can make speaking difficult and look unsightly. Genetic factors, large tongues, improper tongue positioning during rest or function, microdontia or hypodontia of upper lateral incisors, extra teeth between upper central incisors, particularly mesiodens, aberrant frenal attachment, periodontal disease, and extra teeth are some of the multifactor

The spliced Ikaros isoforms 4 to 8 (Ik4-8) suppress the function of full-length Ik1 or Ik2 in a dominant-negative manner, owing to their reduced numbers of DNA binding sites. Thus, dominant-negative Ikaros isoforms may inhibit the normal transcriptional regulation of hematopoietic cell development. To clarify the function of Ik6 in developing bloo
