Abstract:
The Jequitinhonha Basin (JB) is one of the sedimentary basins in the Brazilian Eastern Margin. Although several regional studies have been conducted to define its tectonic framework and petroleum system, neither one is very well-understood. For instance, the extent and influence of the volcanic rocks in the petroleum system of the JB are still matters of debate among geoscientists. We found a new integrated interpretation for the structural framework of JB in which we discover the major faults, the mapped volcanics, and a new basement map. Finally, we evaluate the correlation of known exudatio

Abstract:
The basement topography of the Gascoyne Platform and adjoining areas in the Southern Carnarvon Basin was investigated using satellite gravity and seismic data, assisted by a depth to crystalline basement map derived from modelling the isostatic residual gravity anomaly. The resulting enhanced view of the basement topography reveals that the Gascoyne Platform extends further westward than previously indicated, and is bounded by a northerly trending ridge of shallow basement, named the Bernier Ridge. The Bernier Ridge is a product of rift-flank uplift prior to the Valanginian breakup of Gondwana,

This basin was formed in distensional context, with rifting and subsequent thermal phase during Neocomian to late Cretaceous. At Cenozoic ages, the Abrolhos magmatism occurs in the basin with peaks during the Paleocene and Eocene. In this period, there was a kinematic inversion in the basi
