Abstract:
77 Background: Trastuzumab (Tzb) is a humanized monoclonal antibody (MAb) approved for treatment of HER2-overexpressing breast cancer. Unfortunately not all patients benefit from it and lack of response cannot be predicted. We detected TR-abs in serum of mice and patients treated with Tzb. We hypothesized that TR-abs would associate with response to therapy. Methods: Direct/competition ELISA, dot blot, and mass spectrometry were used to detect and characterize TR-abs in sera from Tzb treated FVBMMTV/HER2transgenic mice, from hybridoma MAbs stemming from transgenic mice responding favorably to Tzb (992-18 mMAb), and in sera of 22 patients with metastatic breast cancer enrolled in a phase I clinical trial. WST-1 viability assay was used to assess biological activity of 992-18 on SKBR3 or BT474 human breast cancer cell lines. Results: From 12 mice bearing HER2-overexpressing tumors and treated with Tzb, 5 responded to therapy and 7 exhibited progressive disease (PD). All 5 responders had elevated TR-abs, whereas TR-abs were low/undetectable with PD (p=0.002; Mann-Whitney two-tailed). This was confirmed in a second cohort of 16 mice, in which TR-abs were undetectable prior to treatment, but gradually detected with Tzb therapy and tumor regression. TR-MAb 992-18 directly targeted also SKBR3 and BT474 in cell-based ELISAs and immunofluorescence assays. Treatment with 992-18 reduced BT474 and SKBR3 cell viability in comparison to isotype-matched control Ab (p<0.0001). In sera from patients with metastatic breast cancer, higher concentrations of TR-abs were significantly associated with lower risk of disease progression (p=0.023, Cox regression, univariate analysis). Conclusions: Low serum TR-abs are associated with poor response to Tzb in mice and with shorter progression free survival in women with HER2 overexpressing stage IV breast cancer. In addition, TR-abs (e.g. 992-18) produced in response to therapy may be pharmacologically active. Results support prospective evaluation of patients undergoing treatment with therapeutic antibodies to determine if this non-invasive immunoassay detecting anti-therapeutic antibodies would predict benefit to therapy.

Abstract:
Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan modifikasi zeolit alam teraktivasi NH4Cl (H-Zeolit) dengan surfaktan CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide) berbagai konsentrasi yaitu sebesar 0,25 mM (ZMS-1), 1 mM (ZMS-2), dan 100 mM (ZMS-3) sebagai adsorben senyawa ABS (Alkil Benzena Sulfonat). Karakterisasi dilakukan terhadap H-Zeolit dan ZMS menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR. Parameter utama dalam penelitian ini adalah variasi konsentrasi ABS (50, 75, dan 100 ppm) dan waktu kontak (15, 30, 45, 60, 75, dan 90 menit). Konsentrasi ABS yang teradsorpsi dianalisis dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis menggunakan metode MBAS (Methylene Blue Active Substance). Hasil spektra FTIR zeolit alam termodifikasi surfaktan (ZMS) menunjukkan puncak pada bilangan gelombang 2931,80 cm-1; 2854,65 cm-1 dan 1404,18 cm-1 yang mengindikasikan keberadaan gugus CTAB pada zeolit. Konsentrasi maksimum dan waktu optimum ABS yang dapat dijerap oleh per 0,1 gram ZMS adalah 50 ppm dalam 25 mL pada waktu 60 menit dengan persen adsorpsi sebesar 84,04% untuk H-Zeolit ; 96,42% untuk ZMS-1; 96,48% untuk ZMS-2; dan 97,29% untuk ZMS-3. Performa ZMS cenderung meningkat dengan konsentrasi CTAB pada zeolit.

Abstract:
A cross-sectional survey utilizing structured questionnaires was used to study the veterinarians’ perception, knowledge and practices of antibiotic stewardship (ABS) in Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria. Data obtained were analyzed using chi-square on SPSS (Version 15.0) at a significance level of P < 0.05 to determine possible associations between variables and perceptions/knowledge about ABS. Out of 280 respondents, 41 (17.1%) had heard about ABS. Minority of the respondents perceived/knew that using antibiotics only when necessary (6.4%, 18), administering antibiotics at the appropriate dose (6.4%, 18) and administering antibiotics for appropriate duration in every case (4.3%, 12) were among the principles of ABS. The study also showed that age, gender, qualification, years of practice and locations did not exert any influence (P > 0.05) on the awareness of respondents about ABS. More than one-third of the respondents wrongly perceived that increasing the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics (35.4%, 99) is one of the goals of ABS, whereas the minority of the respondents rightly perceived/knew that minimizing toxicity and other adverse effects (16.8%, 47) and reducing antibiotic resistance (ABR) (43.2%, 121) are also goals of ABS. Only 21.4% (60) had overall knowledge of ABS. Prescribing antibiotics without seeing/examining the patient, prescribing antibiotics for any case suspected to be infectious, prescribing broad-spectrum antibiotics despite availability of narrow-spectrum antibiotics, prescribing different classes/types of antibiotics concurrently to ensure therapeutic efficacy, prescribing overdose of antibiotics to ensure efficacy and non-consultation of the veterinary formulary/other resources when in doubt during prescription, are some of inappropriate/untoward ABS practices/behaviors/attitudes amongst the respondents. No significant association (P > 0.05) was found between practices of ABS and age, gender, qualification, years of practice and location. In conclusion, the veterinarians’ awareness/perception and practices of ABS is abysmally poor in the study area, thus education of Nigerian veterinarians about ABS and the teaching of the principles and practices of ABS during veterinary schools are recommended.

Abstract Context Hyperthyroidism in Graves disease (GD) is caused by autoantibody stimulation of the TSH receptor (TSHR). TSHR autoantibody (TSHR-Ab) activity is measured routinely by inhibition of labeled ligand (TSH or M22) binding to the TSHR [TSH-binding inhibitory immunoglobulins (TBIIs)] or by stimulation of cAMP production in isolated cells [TSH receptor–stimulating antibodies (TSAbs)]. Usually, measurements of TSHR-Abs by TBIIs agree reasonably well with TSAb values at least in the setting of hyperthyroidism, and both measurements tend to change in parallel during treatment with some exceptions. In this study, we describe three unusual cases, which illustrate nearly pure stimulating, blocking, or neutral properties of TSHR-Abs. Objective Whether patient serum TSHR-Abs can be reproduced by mixtures of human monoclonal autoantibodies to the TSHR was studied because the sera in most patients show moderate properties having both of TBII and TSAb activities. Design We compared the TBII and TSAb activities of serum from four unusual patients in detail with mixtures of human monoclonal TSHR-Abs (mAbs) M22 (stimulating), K1-18 (stimulating), and K1-70 (blocking). Results Characteristic of a patient’s serum was similar to M22 or K1-18, another was similar to K1-70, whereas another was similar to a mixture of K1-70 and M22 (or K1-18). Additionally, some patients seemed to have neutral TSHR-Abs in their sera. Conclusions Our studies suggest that the characteristics of TSHR-Abs in the patient serum can be mimicked by mixtures of human mAbs to the TSHR, stimulating, blocking, and neutral if any.

Thermally reduced graphene oxide (trGO) was successfully prepared and confirmed by XRD then dispersed in polystyrene (PS) and Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) polymers and evaluated for EMI shielding in microwave and infrared (IR) region. Thickness of prepared polymer/trGO composite films were 200-250 micron. It was observed that trGO has more compatibility with PS then ABS and dispersed more easily and uniformly in PS than ABS. This effect was also observed in IR shielding as ABS+15trGO have 3% transmission and PS+1% trGO have 1.5% transmission. Maximum 29 dB and 25 dB shielding effectiveness was measured by vector network analyzer (VNA) in microwave region (9-18 GHz) of PS+2% trGO and ABS+2% trGo composite respectively. These results clearly indicating that trGO is more compatible with PS than ABS and form more stable and mature interconnected network structure in PS at lower concentrations.

Antibodies (Abs) to carbonic anhydrase (isoforms CA-I and CA-II) have been considered pathogenic factors in the development of autoimmune pancreatitis. Besides, such autoAbs might accelerate the pancreatic damage in alcoholic chronic pancreatitis (CP). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the presence of serum Abs to CA-I and CA-II in CP and the relative affinity of these Abs.Serum anti-CA-I and -CA-II Abs were measured in 89 patients with CP (48 alcoholic and 41 nonalcoholic) by an ELISA technique. The prevalence of those autoAbs in CP was compared with other autoimmune diseases where they have also been found. The presence of other serological manifestations of autoimmunity, such as hypergammaglobulinemia or antinuclear Abs, was determined in CP patients as well.Elevated serum levels of both anti-CA-I (24%) and -CA-II (18%) Abs were observed in CP, although their prevalence was lower than in autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (44 and 25%, respectively) or systemic lupus erythematosus (39% for anti-CA-I Abs). Furthermore, these Abs were of low average avidity. On the other hand, a significantly higher proportion of nonalcoholic CP had anti-CA-II Abs with respect to alcoholic CP (15.2 vs. 2.4%,p< 0.05Anti-CA-I and -CA-II Abs might be helpful in the diagnosis of autoimmune CP, and the detection of the latter Abs seems to discard alcoholic etiology. Although it does not discard any pathogenic role in autoimmune CP, the low-avidity of anti-CA Abs argues against such idea.

Im Fall von Glawischnig-Piesczek/Facebook Ireland Ltd. hatte der EuGH über die Reichweite der Löschungspflicht von Hostingplattformen für rechtswidrige Inhalte zu entscheiden. Im Kern ging es um die Frage, ob das Vorliegen der positiven Kenntnis über rechtswidrige Inhalte sich auch auf wort- und sinngleiche Inhalte erstreckt, also ob soziale Netzwerke verpflichtet werden können, nicht nur den ursprünglichen rechtswidrigen Beitrag zu entfernen oder zu sperren, sondern auch inhaltsgleiche Abwandlungen. Diese Fragen hat der EuGH alle bejaht und damit Art. 14 Abs. 1 E-Commerce-Richtlinie als weltweite Pflicht ausgelegt.

O sistema antibloqueio de freios ABS (Antilock Braking System) é um dispositivo eletrônico-mecânico que complementa o sistema de freio tradicional e tem como objetivo fazer com que as rodas não travem na ocorrência de uma frenagem de emergência ou sob condições de alto perigo como superfície muito escorregadia, chuva forte ou gelo. Como resultado, o veiculo não perde a dirigibilidade fazendo com que o motorista consiga efetuar uma parada muito mais segura e, na maior parte dos casos, num espaço menor do que quando este sistema não se encontra a bordo do veiculo, mesmo que essa não seja a missão principal do ABS. Esta dissertação vai apresentar as diferenças que existem na frenagem de um mesmo bitrem, quando esse está equipado com diferentes tipos de ABS. O termo que vai determinar a \"qualidade\" da frenagem é a eficiência da mesma, ou seja, que percentagem de desaceleração máxima é atingida pelo binômio veículo-ABS numa frenagem em linha reta e pista seca e também com aderência diferenciada lado a lado. Para poder fazer essas estimações simulou-se o sistema de freios ABS com o software Matlab/Simulink. Foi desenvolvido um modelo em multicorpos introduzindo todas as características físicas e dinâmicas de um bitrem. Dados foram obtidos durante as simulações: velocidades, acelerações, forças verticais e tangenciais nas superfícies de contato das rodas, além da eficiência de frenagem. Uma característica fundamental dessa simulação tem sido o fato do bitrem ter dois semireboques ao invés de um só, o que faz com que o veículo combinado às vezes apresente um comportamento diferente do esperado. Foram simuladas as seguintes versões de ABS: 4s4m, 4s3m, 4s2m, 2s2m e 2s1m, sob condições de aderência simétrica e valor 0,6 e condições assimétricas com valores 0,6 e 0,2. No cavalo mecânico, o sistema ABS usado foi o mesmo ao longo da simulação, um 2s2m no eixo dianteiro e 4s4m no tandem. Com condições assimétricas de aderência, a ordem de eficiência dos sistemas foi: o 4s4m (menor distância de parada), depois foi o 4s2m e depois vieram o 4s3m, o 4s2m, o 2s2m e o 2s1m em último lugar.
The ABS braking system (Antilock Braking System) is an electronic-mechanical device which along with a conventional braking system is conceived to make the wheels don\'t lock in consequence of an emergency braking or dangerous road conditions such as slippery or icy asphalt or even heavy rain. As a result, car doesn\'t lose control and driver is enabled to perform a much safer stop. It could also require a shorter distance to a full stop although that is not the first purpose of ABS. This dissertation expects to spot the noticeable differences when a truck is stopped with different versions of the ABS. The \"quality\" of breaking is going to be set trough the braking efficiency parameter, i.e. a comparison between the deceleration reached and the maximum reachable by both truck and road conditions, over a straight path and both equal and different grip coefficient on the sides of the truck. The Matlab/Simulink software was used to simulate an ABS breaking system. A multibody model was developed including all physical and dynamical properties of a truck. Every single relevant data was displayed and monitored: velocity, acceleration, vertical and tangential forces on the common surface tire-ground, besides braking efficiency. One remarkable feature of the simulation was the fact that this modelled truck pulls two trailers, which can get to unusual or unexpected behaviour. Namely, the following ABS versions were tested: 4s4m, 4s3m, 4s2m, 2s2m and 2s1m, under symmetric grip of 0,6 and asymmetric grip values of 0,6 and 0,2. The tractor head used invariably a 2s2m on the front axle and 4s4m on the rear tandem. When it comes to asymmetric conditions the ABS versions were ranked this order: 4s4m, 4s2m, 4s3m, 2s2m and finally 2s1m.

O ABS (Antilock Braking System) é um sistema suplementar ao sistema de freio de serviço normal, que impede o travamento da roda em qualquer situação de frenagem, principalmente em frenagens de emergência, e com isto garante estabilidade e dirigibilidade ao veículo e reduz, na grande maioria de situações, a distância de parada em relação ao sistema de freio normal. Por sua vez, o travamento de roda na frenagem tem uma forte relação com acidentes de trânsito. Esta dissertação apresenta uma avaliação da eficiência do ABS na redução de acidentes de trânsito nas condições de uso cotidianas do veículo, baseando-se em uma característica da dinâmica do veículo: a eficiência de frenagem. Usualmente, esta avaliação da eficácia do ABS na prevenção de acidentes é feita através de estatísticas de dados de acidentes e de registros de veículos. O travamento da roda ocorre quando a demanda de aderência de veículo, que está diretamente relacionada com a desaceleração desejada, supera a aderência disponibilizada pelo conjunto pneu pavimento. Portanto através de curvas de probabilidade de disponibilidade de aderência, curvas de probabilidade de demanda de aderência e estatísticas sobre o uso do veículo, consegue-se estimar a probabilidade da ocorrência do travamento de roda. Este trabalho apresenta estimativas de acionamentos do freio para que ocorra um travamento, de distância percorrida para que ocorra um travamento e tempo decorrido para que ocorra um travamento. As estimativas são feitas para pistas de concreto seco e concreto molhado. Para esclarecer o funcionamento do sistema, simulou-se o sistema ABS em Matlab/Simulink. Para isto, desenvolveu-se um controlador de estados finitos, o qual foi implementado em um modelo de veículo completo. A simulação realizada foi uma frenagem em linha reta até a parada completa do veículo em uma pista homogênea de alta aderência. Neste estudo verificou-se que o ABS tem grande potencial para reduzir acidentes de trânsito, tanto em pista molhada quanto em pista seca. O ABS apresenta um ganho na segurança veicular mesmo em relação a um sistema de freio perfeitamente balanceado. Deve-se ressalvar que este resultado pode ser alterado pelo fator motorista, alteração esta causada pelo desconhecimento do funcionamento e utilização do sistema ou mesmo mau uso.
The ABS (Antilock Braking System) is a supplementary system to the regular service brake system, which prevents the wheel lock in any braking situation, mainly in emergency braking maneuvers, and it will guarantee stability and steerability of the vehicle and reduces, in most of the situations, the stopping distance in relation to the regular brake system. By the way, the wheel lock when braking has a strong relationship with traffic accidents. This thesis presents an assessment of the effciency of the ABS in the reduction of traffic accidents in daily conditions of use of the vehicle, based on a dynamic feature of the vehicle: the braking efficiency. Usually, this evaluation of the effectiveness of the ABS in the prevention of accidents is done through database statistics of accidents and records of vehicles. The wheel lock occurs when the friction demand of the vehicle, which is directly related to the desired deceleration, is larger than the friction provided by the interaction between the tire and the road surface. So through probability curves of availability of friction, probability curves of friction demand and statistics on the use of the vehicle, it is possible to estimate the probability of occurrence of wheel lock-ups. This study presents estimations of brake applications to cause a lock-up, estimations of distance travelled to cause a lock-up and estimations of time so that a wheel locks. The estimations are made for dry and wet concrete roads. To clarify the operation of the system, it was simulated the ABS system in Matlab/Simulink. In order to do this, it was developed a finite state controller, which was implemented in a full vehicle model. The simulation carried out was a straight line brake until the complete stop of the vehicle in a homogeneous high friction road. This study found out that the ABS has a great potential to reduce traffic accidents, both on wet road and on dry road. The ABS presents a gain in vehicles safety even in relation to a perfectly balanced brake system. It should be noted that this result can be affected by the driver factor, this change is caused by ignorance of the operation and use of the system or even misuse.

Abstract:
O bi-trem é um veículo cada vez mais comum no trânsito brasileiro. Por ser um veículo de grande porte, é capaz de se envolver em acidentes catastróficos caso o sistema de freio não esteja projetado de maneira adequada. Neste contexto é necessário um estudo que permita prever e otimizar o desempenho do sistema de freios para qualquer condição operacional. Para isso foi desenvolvida uma planilha de cálculos para estudar o desempenho da frenagem de um bi-trem. A planilha calcula a aderência que cada eixo utiliza, a desaceleração máxima desenvolvida pelo veículo, o espaço e o tempo de parada, a força de frenagem (e sua porcentagem) em cada eixo, a temperatura final do tambor, a eficiência do sistema de freios, as forças normais ao pavimento, a distribuição real e ideal das forças de frenagem e verifica se o cavalo mecânico e os semi-reboques se enquadram, respectivamente, nos diagramas 3 e 4 do anexo 10 da ECE-R13. Tais cálculos podem ser feitos com o veículo utilizando ou não ABS e com válvula sensível a carga nos semi-reboques e no \"tandem\" do cavalo mecânico. A planilha de cálculo foi aplicada em um veículo exemplo e os resultados são apresentados nesta dissertação. O sistema de freios desse veículo foi otimizado com a utilização da planilha, mostrando como ela pode ser de grande auxílio ao projetista.
The bi-trem (a vehicle similar to a twin trailler truck) is more and more common in the brazilians highways. Because it\'s a large and heavy vehicle it can cause catastrophics accidents if the brakes are not well developed. In this context it is necessary a study that allows to foresee and to optimize the performance of the brakes system for any operational condition. In this work an electronic spread sheet was developed in order to study the braking performance of a bi-trem. The spread sheet calcs the adhesion in each axle, the maximum deceleration, the braking space and the braking time, the braking force (and its percentage) in each axle, the final temperature of the drum, the brake system\'s efficiency, the normal forces, the actual and ideal brake force distribution, and verifies if the tractor and the semi trailers are fitted in the annex 10 of EGE-R13. The reckoning can be made for a vehicle equipped or not with ABS and with the load sensing valve in the semi trailers and in the tandem axle of the tractor. The spread sheet was applied in a example vehicle and the results are presented in this dissertation. The brakes system of this vehicle was optimized with the use of the spread sheet, showing as it can be of great assists the designer.

Syftet med denna studie är att kartlägga småhusentreprenader och vilka problem samt konflikter som uppstår mellan entreprenader och beställare. Vidare är det tänkt att denna studie skulle ge allmänheten en bättre uppfattning kring varför konflikter uppstår mellan beställare och entreprenörer samt hur husleverantörer jobbar för att motverka dessa problem. För att uppnå syftet och besvara forskningsfrågorna användes en kvalitativ forskningsmetod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Anledningen till att denna intervjuteknik tillämpades var för att ge respondenterna frihet att prata öppet om sina upplevelser och synpunkter. Respondenterna som intervjuades var fyra representanter för husleverantörer, tre beställare, en byggnadsinspektör och en kontrollansvarig. Resultatet av intervjuerna visade att det fanns en gemensam uppfattning bland beställare och husleverantörer kring att det är för mycket pappersarbete och att totalentreprenad är den mest optimala entreprenadformen för den som inte vill ta på sigallt för mycket ansvar. Det fanns dock även åsikter som skiljde sig. Studien visade att beställare upplever uppförandet av småhus som en långsam och energikrävande process. Problemen som är vanligt förekommande inom småhusentreprenader är att det finns en skillnad i språk och kunskap mellan parterna. Detta resulterar i att det blir en bristande kommunikation som i sin tur kan leda till diverse konflikter. Husleverantörerna är medvetna om dessa problem och jobbar kontinuerligt för att ta fram lösningar. En sådan lösning är att lägga stor vikt på dokumentation och kontrakt eftersom det är de som är lagligt bindande. Slutsatsen för denna studie var att en god kommunikation resulterar i färre missförstånd och konflikter. Konflikter går däremot inte att undvika helt, utan kommer alltid kunna uppstå på grund av mänskliga faktorer.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the single-family home construction industry and what problems arise. Furthermore, it was intended that this study would give the public a better idea of why conflicts arise between customers and contractors and how home suppliers work to counteract these problems. To achieve the purpose and get answers to the research questions, we used a qualitative research method in the form of semi-structured interviews. The reason why this interview technique was applied was to give respondents the freedom to talk openly about their experiences and views. The respondents interviewed were four representatives of house suppliers, three clients, a building inspector and an inspection manager. The results of the interviews showed that there was a common opinion among clients and house suppliers on certain issues, but then there were also opinions that differed. The study showed that customers experience the construction of detached houses as a slow and energy-intensive process. The problems that are common in detached house contracts are that there is a difference in language and knowledge between the involved parties. This results in a lack of communication which in turn can lead to various conflicts. Home suppliers are aware of the problems that exist in the industry and work continuously to develop solutions. One such solution is to place great emphasis on documentation and contracts because they are the ones that are legally binding. The conclusion of this study was that good communication results in fewer misunderstandings and conflicts. Conflicts, on the other hand, cannot be completely avoided, but will always arise due to human factors.

A presente dissertação visa analisar o desempenho na frenagem de um cavalo mecânico e semi-reboque que utiliza o sistema ABS (Antilock Braking System). Foi desenvolvido um modelo virtual de simulação utilizando a técnica dos sistemas multicorpos (Multibody System) do SimMechanics, um toolbox do Matlab/Simulink. No modelo virtual do veículo combinado foram considerados os parâmetros geométricos e mecânicos dos chassis, das suspensões, dos freios, contato pneu-pavimento e a válvula sensível à carga. São obtidas as forças normais dinâmicas no contato pneu pavimento quando o veículo está desacelerando de 20m/s até a parada completa, estas forças normais dinâmicas são entradas de uma sub-rotina em Simulink onde são calculadas as forças de frenagem, quando os freios tipo S carne são acionados. São realizadas simulações de frenagens em linha reta em pistas de média aderência (0,4) e alta aderência (0,8). As eficiências são obtidas quando o cavalo mecânico utiliza a configuração fixa de ABS tipo 6S/6M e o semi-reboque utiliza diversas configurações de ABS tipos: 2S/1M (e 4,6); 2S/2M (e 4,6); 4S/2M (e4); 4S/2M (e6); 4S/3M (e4); 4S/3M (e6); 4S/4M (e4) e 4S/4M (e6) e 6S/6M. O veículo é simulado também freando sem sistema ABS e a eficiência resultante comparada com as obtidas anteriormente. Os resultados são apresentados em figuras que mostram as forças normais dinâmicas ao pavimento, as aderências utilizadas pelos pneus e as eficiências atingidas pelas diversas configurações de ABS utilizadas no semi-reboque. Conclui-se de forma geral que configurações de ABS com mais sensores e válvulas moduladoras produzem uma eficiência maior e que a utilização de qualquer configuração de ABS como sistema complementar do sistema de freios de serviço, aumenta a eficiência de frenagem que é sempre superior ao do veículo sem sistema ABS. Esses resultados ajudam na preservação da dirigibilidade e estabilidade do veículo combinado, contribuindo assim na prevenção de acidentes de trânsito em situações de emergência.
This dissertation reports on the development of a simulation model for the analysis of the braking performance of tractor-semitrailer vehicles that use the ABS (Antilock Braking System). The model was developed using the virtual simulation technique of multibody systems with SimMechanics, a toolbox of Matlab/Simulink. In this simulation model the mechanical and geometrical parameters of the chassis, suspensions, brakes, adhesion coefficient, and load sensing valve were considered. When the vehicle is decelerating, the normal forces between the tire and road surface are obtained by the virtual model. These forces are the input of a subroutine in which the braking forces are calculated when the S Came brakes are triggered. Simulations of braking on straight line in road were made for average adhesion coefficient (0.4) and high adhesion coefficient (0.8). Efficiencies were obtained when the tractor used fixed ABS configuration of a 6S/6M type, and the semitrailer used the ABS type: 2S/lM (and 4.6); 2S/2M (and 4.6); 4S/2M (e4); 4S/2M (e6); 4S/3M (e4); 4S/3M (e6); 4S/4M (e4) and 4S/4M (e6) and 6S/6M. The results are presented in figures which show, the normal dynamic forces between tire and road, adhesions used by the tires and the efficiencies achieved by different ABS configurations installed in the semi-trailer. It is possible to conclude that in general ABS configurations with more sensors and modulating valves produce higher efficiency and the use of any configuration as a complementary system of the ABS brake system service increases the braking efficiency, which is always higher than that of a vehicle without ABS. The results help preserving the vehicle stability and maneuverability, preventing road accidents in emergency situations.

Under år 2010 valde fyra av fem att starta företag i form av aktiebolag. En stark anled-ning till att man föredrar aktiebolagsformen är på grund av det begränsade ansvaret som utmärker denna bolagsform. För att motverka att vissa nogräknade styrelse utnyttjar an-svarssystemet har lagstiftaren infört flera aktiebolagsrättsliga regler som ska vara till skydd för bolagets intressenter, främst borgenärer. En av reglerna är att se till att bolaget har kapital vid början av verksamhetens gång. För att hålla aktiekapitalet intakt under verksamhetens gång tillkom bland annat regeln om personligt betalningsansvar vid kapi-talbrist, 25 kap. 18 § ABL. Båda reglerna har till syfte att skydda borgenärerna. Syftet med denna framställning är att utreda om lagregeln om personligt betalningsansvar är i behov av reform, särskilt för aktiebolag som omfattas av frivillig revisionsplikt.Styrelsen är tvungen att aktivt handla efter ett handlingsmönster i 25 kap. 13 – 16 §§ ABL. Underlåter styrelsen att agera när skyldigheten har uppstått blir styrelsen personlig betalningsansvarig för därefter uppkomna förpliktelser. Ledamöterna ska svara solida-riskt. Ansvaret uppstår när det finns ”skäl att anta” att aktiekapitalet understiger hälften av det registrerade aktiekapitalet och styrelsen underlåter att upprätta en kontrollbalans-räkning som ska vara revisorgranskad. Syftet med revisorgranskningen är att kunna motverka manipulation och efterhandskonstruktion av kontrollbalansräkning. Eftersom kontrollbalansräkningen utgör bevis för att kapitalbrist föreligger kan styrelsen i ett bo-lag, som saknar revisionsplikt, få ett frikort till att manipulera eller efterhandskonstruera ”kontrollbalansräkningen” till sin fördel. Därför finns det behov av att reformera an-svarssystemet i 25 kap. 18 § ABL allteftersom regeln inte är ändamålsenlig.
In 2010, four out of five chose to establish limited companies. A strong reason for the preference for limited company is due to the limited responsibility that distinguishes the corporate form. The shareholders will not be personally liable for anything than the cap-ital invested in the company. To counter that some unscrupulous people exploiting the system, the legislation provides a number of company law rules to protect its stakehold-ers, particularly creditors. One of the rules is to ensure that the company has capital at the beginning of the activity. Furthermore, the legislation provides rules that are intend-ed to keep capital intact, hence the rule of compulsory liquidation of capital shortage. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether the rule in 25:18 ABL is adapted to its purpose, especially when small limited companies has optional audit requirement. The Board is required to actively follow a pattern in Chapter 25 ABL. Failure by the Board to follow the pattern, the board may be personally liable for obligations incurred thereafter. The responsibility arises when there is "a reason to believe" that the share capital is less than half of the registered share capital and the board fails to establish a balance sheet that shall be audited. The purpose of the audit review is to discourage tampering and subsequent construction of a balance sheet. A balance sheet is evidence that proves a capital shortages exist, the board of a company, which has no mandatory auditing, get a free pass to manipulate or retrospectively construct "control balance sheet" to their advantage. Therefore, there is a need to reform the liability system in 25:18 ABL as the rule is not practicable or adapted to its purpose.

Syftet med förevarande uppsats är att utreda hur det personliga ansvaret är utformat för nytillträdd styrelse, samt vilka möjligheter har nytillträdd styrelse att undgå ansvar. Styrelseledamöter i ett aktiebolag kan bli personligt betalningsansvariga om det i lagen givna handlingsmönstret när det finns skäl att anta att bolaget har kapitalbrist. Det personliga ansvaret är utformat som ett medansvar och träffar hela styrelsen. Möjligheterna för att undgå personligt betalningsansvar är dels genom ansvarsfrihetsgrunder, dels genom att läka kapitalbristen (inom en till två månader). Det personliga ansvaret för nytillträdd styrelse är inte lagreglerad och av lagstiftaren stadgas att frågan bör bedömas med beaktande av den nytillträdde ledamotens agerande i det enskilda fallet. Diskussion har förts kring vilken ansvarssituation som ska anses gälla för den nytillträdde styrelseledamoten vid tidpunkten för inträdet. Indikationer finns på att nytillträdd styrelseledamot "ärver" tidigare styrelses ansvar. Doktrins tolkning är nytillträdd styrelseledamot inte borde ådra sig något ansvar om denne vidtar adekvat åtgärd för rättelse så snart efter sitt inträde. Möjligheterna att undgå personligt betalningsansvar är tämligen begränsade. För egen del ansluter jag mig till doktrins tolkning, en ordning som innebär att styrelse ärver tidigare styrelses ansvar är alldeles för långtgående ansvar och oproportionerligt. Möjligheterna för nytillträdd styrelse att läka kapitalbrist är tämligen begränsade varför uppsatsförfattaren ställer frågan huruvida det inte vore rimligare att tillåta läkning i efterhand i speciella fall, t.ex. då en ny styrelse träder in i ett bolag. E contrario tolkningen har vidare av uppsatsförfattaren ifrågasatts om den stadgade tidpunkten verkligen borde utgöra den definitiva slutpunkten.

Data from the National Health Interview Survey • In 2019, 65.5% of adults aged 18−64 had a dental visit in the past 12 months. • The percentage of adults who had a dental visit was higher among those residing in urban areas (66.7%) than those in rural areas (57.6%). • In both urban and rural areas, women were more likely than men to have had a dental visit in the past 12 months. • In urban areas, non-Hispanic white adults (70.2%) were more likely than Hispanic (59.4%) and non-Hispanic black (61.8%) adults to have • a dental visit. In rural areas, non-Hispanic white adults (59.1%) were more likely than Hispanic adults (45.7%) to have a dental visit. • The percentage of adults who had a dental visit increased as family income, as a percentage of the federal poverty level, increased in both urban and rural areas. How are natives attitudes towards migrants shaped by economic crises? Natives could show more compassion towards migrants as everyone faces a common threat. Alternatively, natives prejudice could rise as competition for scarce economic opportunities increases. We conduct an online survey to 3,400 Colombian citizens and randomly prime half of them to think about the economic consequences of COVID-19, before eliciting their altruism and attitudes towards Venezuelan migrants. We find that natives attitudes towards migrants are substantially more negative in the treatment relative to the control group. Individuals ages 18 to 25 years, however, respond to the treatment by showing more altruism.

SSHAP convened a virtual roundtable of expert advisors on Friday 12 March 2021 to discuss the outbreak of Ebola in Guinea declared on 14 February 2021. At the time of writing (19 March 2021), there have been 18 cases (14 confirmed, 4 probable), 9 deaths (including 5 in the community; CFR 50%) and 6 recoveries. Six of the 7 first cases identified were from the family of the first case, a 51-year-old nurse from Gouecke who died in N’Zérékoré on 28 January. Vaccination was launched on 23 February, and as of 17 March, 3,492 people had been vaccinated. The last new case was reported on 4 March 2021.

Abstract:
The Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station (NTAS) was established to address the need for accurate air-sea flux estimates and upper ocean measurements in a region with strong sea surface temperature anomalies and the likelihood of significant local air–sea interaction on interannual to decadal timescales. The approach is to maintain a surface mooring outfitted for meteorological and oceanographic measurements at a site near 15°N, 51°W by successive mooring turnarounds. These observations will be used to investigate air–sea interaction processes related to climate variability. This report documents recovery of the NTAS-18 mooring and deployment of the NTAS-19 mooring at the same site. Both moorings used Surlyn foam buoys as the surface element. These buoys were outfitted with two Air–Sea Interaction Meteorology (ASIMET) systems. Each system measures, records, and transmits via Argos satellite the surface meteorological variables necessary to compute air–sea fluxes of heat, moisture and momentum. The upper 160 m of the mooring line were outfitted with oceanographic sensors for the measurement of temperature, salinity and velocity. Deep ocean temperature and salinity are measured at approximately 38 m above the bottom. The mooring turnaround was done on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ship Ronald H. Brown, Cruise RB-20-06, by the Upper Ocean Processes Group of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The cruise took place between 14 October and 1 November 2020. The NTAS-19 mooring was deployed on 22 October, with an anchor position of about 14° 49.48° N, 51° 00.96° W in 4985 m of water. A 31-hour intercomparison period followed, during which satellite telemetry data from the NTAS-19 buoy and the ship’s meteorological sensors were monitored. The NTAS-18 buoy, which had gone adrift on 28 April 2020, was recovered on 20 October near 13° 41.96° N, 58° 38.67° W. This report describes these operations, as well as other work done on the cruise and some of the pre-cruise buoy preparations.
