Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) absorption correction of the sulfur dioxide (SO2) camera was demonstrated for the first time. The key to improving the measurement accuracy is to combine a differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) instrument with the SO2 camera for the real-time NO2 absorption correction and aerosol scattering correction. This method performs NO2 absorption correction by the correlation between the NO2 column density measurement of the DOAS and the NO2 optical depth of the corresponding channel from the SO2 camera at a narrow wavelength window around 310 and 310 nm. For such correction, it is convenient to use the extrapolation method[l] because the thickness, density and mass absorption coefficient are not necessary in the method. The characteristic x-ray intensities measured for the analysis are only requirement for the absorption correction. Abstract:
AbstractAtomistic machine learning (AML) simulations are used in chemistry at an everincreasing pace. A large number of AML models has been developed, but their implementations are scattered among different packages, each with its own conventions for input and output. Thus, here we give an overview of our MLatom 2 software package, which provides an integrative platform for a wide variety of AML simulations by implementing from scratch and interfacing existing software for a range of state-of-the-art models. These include kernel method-based model types such as KREG (native implementation), sGDML, and GAP-SOAP as well as neuralnetwork- based model types such as ANI, DeepPot-SE, and PhysNet. The theoretical foundations behind these methods are overviewed too. The modular structure of MLatom allows for easy extension to more AML model types. MLatom 2 also has many other capabilities useful for AML simulations, such as the support of custom descriptors, farthest-point and structure-based sampling, hyperparameter optimization, model evaluation, and automatic learning curve generation. It can also be used for such multi-step tasks as Δ-learning, self-correction approaches, and absorption spectrum simulation within the machine-learning nuclear-ensemble approach. Several of these MLatom 2 capabilities are showcased in application examples.

Abstract:
Infrared absorption spectroscopy for quantitative analysis of alkane gases has been widely used in the fields of energy exploration, geological survey, coal-bed methane analysis, and atmospheric environment monitoring. With the rapid development of science and technology, various research fields have put forward higher requirements on the detection accuracy and detection limits of gas quantitative analysis. Spectral pretreatment is very important in the gas quantitative analysis of infrared absorption spectroscopy, which can effectively improve the detection accuracy, but there were few studies on the spectral pretreatment technology at this stage. In this paper, a comprehensive spectral pretreatment method based on spectral smoothing and noise reduction, spectral deconvolution and spectral baseline drift correction was proposed for the infrared absorption spectra of alkane gases. The optimal pretreatment parameters for alkane gases were investigated and the infrared absorption spectroscopy of typical alkane gases was pre-processed. The comprehensive pretreatment method of absorption spectroscopy can increase the probability of selecting variables with significant features in absorption spectral data, which can improve the accuracy of quantitative analysis. It also can improve the quality of some weak absorption signals and extend the lower detection limit downward in order to expand the detection range.

The underwater world holds a wealth of secrets as it dominates three fourth of the earth surface. However, capturing underwater images with clear details is not an easy task. Light scattering, absorption, and limited visibility create a challenging environment for traditional cameras. The various phenomena that degrade underwater images and how it affect image clarity are examined. The image enhancement techniques, both traditional methods and cutting-edge deep learning approaches, which tackle issues like color correction, contrast enhancement, and haze removal, effectively restoring the true colors and details hidden beneath the water's surface are considered. Image enhancement plays a crucial role as a pre-processing step, paving the way for more accurate object detection. Various deep learning-based frameworks specifically designed to excel in these challenging conditions are explored in this chapter.

Abstract:
Model Predictive Control (MPC) is a widely used method that has numerous applications in process industries. In the MPC group of controllers, a clear model is used directly for predicting future plant behavior and calculating corrective control action required to maintain the output at the desired set point value. It is well known that most chemical processes present inherent nonlinearities on account of disturbance, set-point changes.MPC variants based on nonlinear process models have produced stiff control of process along with improved handling of constraints, abnormal dynamics and time delays. One of the variants EMPC applied for various chemical processes have produced economic performance index over the horizon for achieving optimal output targets. In addition to that, adaptive MPC is better in handling the nonlinearity and time varying characteristics during run time by modifying model. The control of reactive separation process is difficult on account of process nonlinearity and interactions of vapor-liquid equilibrium with chemical reactions. Reactive separation is multi -input and multi-output(MIMO) system .In order to obtain the optimal performance, energy conservation and cost effectiveness of MIMO system , the application of optimal controller is inevitable. The application of optimal controller have exhibited better performance compared to tuned linear controller inspite of presence of unknown input delays. The mpc coupled with neural network have exhibited better controllability in case of reactive distillation process. This chapter will cover recent developments in MPC applicable to reactive separation techniques that consist of reactive distillation, reactive absorption, extractive reaction, reactive membrane separation which are used in applications such as LPG processing, natural gas sweetening process etc

Abstract:
The foot performs its main functions, including bearing body weight, shock absorption, adaptation to different ground surfaces, storage and return of elastic energy, and modifying its rigidity throughout gait, thanks to the arches present in its structure. In this section, the structures supporting the foot arches and their training are explained through the concept of the foot core system. The foot core system consists of passive, active, and neural subsystems. In the active subsystem, which can be developed through exercise, the specialized functions of the plantar intrinsic and extrinsic muscles are emphasized. Training of intrinsic foot muscles, with the short foot exercise being the most studied, is reported to be effective in correcting foot alignment and improving foot and ankle function and dynamic balance in long-distance runners, adults with foot and ankle conditions such as flatfoot, plantar fasciitis, chronic ankle instability, and diabetic foot, as well as in adults with normal foot posture. Moreover, for common foot problems, including Achilles tendinopathy, chronic ankle instability, and plantar fasciitis, exercise methods specifically recommended for each problem and proven to be effective are also explained. Exercise rehabilitation is considered the primary approach for the conservative management of Achilles tendinopathy, with the loading of the tendon through eccentric exercise standing out. In the rehabilitation of chronic ankle instability, strength training, balance training, and joint mobilization are prominent in the current literature, with strength training reported as the best choice for improving joint position sense. Strengthening the peroneal muscles, the main evertors of the ankle that provide lateral ankle stability, is essential in exercise rehabilitation. For plantar fasciitis, a combination of stretching and extracorporeal shock wave therapy is suggested to provide better results compared to either alone. The most studied exercises for plantar fasciitis are plantar fascia stretching and Achilles tendon or calf stretching exercises, with plantar fascia stretching suggested to be better. This section contains illustrated explanations and exercise prescription recommendations for the mentioned exercises.
