Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi (born between 922 and 933; dead circa 1023) is considered as one of the most renowned Arabic writers of the second half of the 10th – the first half of the 11th century. The article comprises an academic translation of a collection of stories from a literary and didactical work by al-Tawhidi al-Basa’ir wa-l-dhakha’ir (“The Views [of the Ancient] and the Treasures [of the Sages]”). ikhwān al-ṣafāʾ are still anonymous, and opinions are still conflicting about what they are, and the researchers have presented many hypotheses trying to find their knowledge. After the brief presentation of these hypotheses, I will present my hypothesis that the son of the muqafa is the author of the letters, and then the letters were signed by Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi.
