Abstract:
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, the organizer of the annual Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Nigerian tertiary institutions, fully adopted the Computer Based Test (CBT) for its annual examination in 2015 after the initial trial period, which started in 2013. Consequently, every admission seeker into any Nigerian higher institution of learning must register and write the computer-based UTME. This study, therefore, investigated the acceptability of CBT by admission seekers in southwestern Nigeria. It equally examined whether the gender and location of candidates would affect the acceptability of CBT or not. Data was collected from 599 candidates across three states in the Southwest of Nigeria and analyzed using appropriate statistical tools. Results indicated a moderate degree of acceptability of CBT by students; gender had a significant influence on the acceptability of CBT (male: = 12.49 and SD = 1.78; female: = 11.98 and SD = 2.21), and candidates in the rural areas demonstrated a low degree of acceptability of CBT compared to their counterparts in the urban areas. The study concludes that candidates have moderate acceptability of CBT, with the male gender demonstrating higher acceptability over their female counterparts. Candidates’ location equally affected the acceptability of CBT. The respondents in urban locations demonstrated higher acceptability of CBT than their counterparts in rural locations. The study therefore recommends that: CBT should be adopted for other categories of examinations in Nigeria; female candidates should be encouraged to embrace more technology; and more educational programs should be organized to promote the acceptability of technology in rural areas.

Abstract:
AbstractTest anxiety is experienced by 10–40% of students. The physical symptoms associated with test anxiety may be more likely to be exhibited by elementary students. Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) has been demonstrated to reduce physical symptoms of anxiety and could be used in the classroom, but teacher acceptability of PMR for test anxiety has not been assessed. This study used a vignette format to survey 404 first through fifth grade teachers on their acceptability of classroom-based PMR as an intervention for test anxiety. Good levels of acceptability were found for implementation with a school psychologist or counsellor, CD player, or digital music player. Special education teachers reported slightly lower levels of acceptability for using PMR in the digital music player scenario. With good levels of teacher acceptability of PMR to address test anxiety, school psychologists and counsellors may be more likely to recommend the use of PMR in classrooms. Implications for implementation of PMR to reduce test anxiety, study limitations, and suggestions for future research are discussed.

Abstract:
Background: Tempeh is a well-known Indonesian food not foreign to the Indonesian people. It is a product often used as a source of vegetable protein. Ear mushrooms are one of the products people are currently looking for to meet their nutritional needs. Ear mushrooms also have several benefits for preventing atherosclerosis and heart attacks. This research aims to determine the level of acceptance of healthy snack innovations for people who consume a vegetarian diet.Research Methods: This research method is an experiment using an organoleptic test where researchers measure the panelists' level of liking. This processed tempeh stick product uses three treatments: P1 (44.9% tempeh: 0 wood ear mushrooms), P2 (33.7% tempeh: 11.2% wood ear mushrooms), P3 (22.4% tempeh: 22 wood ear mushrooms). .4%). Research Result: The highest color acceptability results for this product are P2 (95.69%), the highest aroma acceptability is P1 (96.77%), texture acceptability is P1 and P2 (96.77%), acceptability of the most elevated taste is P1 (95.69). The difference in comparison causes the level of preference for the criteria of color, aroma, taste, and texture. The best treatment that most panelists liked was formulation P1, namely, without the addition of wood ear fungus at all. Conclusion: The highest acceptability results for the color and texture parameters of tempeh sticks are P2. Meanwhile, the acceptability of the aroma parameter P3 has the highest marks. In the acceptability results, taste parameter P1 has the highest assessment results.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Colon cancer screening, including colonoscopy, lags behind other forms of cancer screening for participation rates. The intrinsic nature of the endoscopic procedure may be an important barrier that limits patients from finding this test acceptable and affects willingness to undergo screening. With colon cancer screening programs emerging in Canada, test characteristics and their impact on acceptance warrant consideration.OBJECTIVES: To measure the acceptability of colonoscopy and define factors that contribute to procedural acceptability, in relation to another invasive gastrointestinal scope procedure, gastroscopy.PATIENTS AND METHODS: Consecutive patients undergoing a colonoscopy (n=55) or a gastroscopy (n=33) were recruited. Their procedural experience was evaluated and compared pre-endoscopy, immediately before testing and postendoscopy. Questionnaires were used to capture multiple domains of the endoscopy experience and patient characteristics.RESULTS: Patient scope groups did not differ preprocedurally for general or procedure-specific anxiety. However, the colonoscopy group did anticipate more pain. Those who had a gastroscopy demonstrated higher preprocedural acceptance than those who had a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy group had a significant decrease in scope concerns and anxiety postprocedurally. As well, they reported less pain than they anticipated. Regardless, postprocedurally, the colonoscopy group’s acceptance did not increase significantly, whereas the gastroscopy group was almost unanimous in their test acceptance. The best predictor of pretest acceptability of colonoscopy was anticipated pain.CONCLUSIONS: The findings indicate that concerns that relate specifically to colonoscopy, including anticipated pain, influence acceptability of the procedure. However, the experience of a colonoscopy does not lead to improved test acceptance, despite decreases in procedural anxiety and pain. Patients’ preprocedural views of the test are most important and should be addressed directly to potentially improve participation in colonoscopy.

Abstract:
BackgroundGhana rolled out the policy in 2013 with the use of malaria rapid diagnostic test (mRDT) promoted to facilitate diagnosis. However, health workers who are at the centre of mRDT implementation still treat half of febrile patients with negative mRDT results with antimalarial drugs, suggesting limited or lack of acceptability of the innovation.MethodsWe conducted a cross-sectional study to examine determinants of mRDT among health workers in Kintampo North Municipality (KNM) in Ghana. Data were collected from 110 health workers in KNM involved in malaria management from February to April 2017. The survey tool was based on two frameworks – the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Normalisation Process Theory (NPT). Acceptability was measured by ease of use, perceived usefulness and intention to use.We hypothesised that acceptability was influenced by „coherence, cognitive participation, collective action, reflexive monitoring and respondent characteristics. A composite acceptability score was computed from a 21-item questionnaire for each respondent. The respondents were divided into three groups of low, moderate and high acceptability for ordered logistic regression to examine the relationship between acceptability and its determinants.ResultsThe median acceptability score was 84(Q1, Q3:68, 103). About 34% of health workers had low acceptability while 37% and 29% had moderate and high acceptability respectively. In the multivariable analysis, coherence (OR=1.23, 95%CI=1.11–1.37), cognitive participation (OR=1.35, 95%CI=1.10–1.66), health workers in rural health facilities (OR=6.99, 95%CI=1.82–26.84) and health workers with more than three years’ experience (OR=5.53, 95%CI=1.98–15.42) were more likely to have high mRDT acceptability.ConclusionAcceptability of mRDT was moderate among the majority. This can be improved by enhancing health workers’ coherence on the benefits of mRDT through policy building or dissemination of information, promoting health workers’ cognitive participation in the mRDT implementation process through recruitment of local ‘champions’ to promote ‘buy-in’ and providing incentives to health workers to embed and sustain the use of the health technology.

Abstract:
ObjectivesPeruvian men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW) are highly vulnerable to HIV infection (HIV), but stigma, access issues and fear of venipuncture hamper testing. The oral HIV test—which uses oral fluids and provides results in 20 minutes—could reduce these barriers. The objective of this study was to determine the acceptability of the oral HIV test and the individual-level factors associated with its acceptability among MSM and TGW.MethodsWe conducted a cross-sectional secondary analysis among Peruvian MSM and TGW attending a community-based health centre between February 2012 and February 2013 to determine the individual-level factors associated with oral HIV test acceptability.ResultsOf 334 participants, 88% were MSM and 12% TGW. Overall, 85% of participants indicated their acceptability of the oral HIV test. Acceptability was higher in MSM than TGW (85.7% vs 80.0%) but this difference was not significant. Factors associated with acceptability in MSM were: tertiary or higher education (prevalence ratio (PR)=1.18, 95% CI 1.06 to 1.32 and PR=1.16, 95% CI 1.03 to 1.30, respectively); sex with drug use (PR=1.19, 95% CI 1.05 to 1.36); believing that HIV is transmitted by saliva (PR=1.20, 95% CI 1.08 to 1.33); and potential use of the oral test at home (PR=1.56, 95% CI 1.32 to 1.85). The only factor associated with lower acceptability was having had first anal intercourse between 14 and 19 years of age (PR=0.89, 95% CI 0.80 to 0.98).ConclusionsWe identified the individual factors associated with oral HIV test acceptability among Peruvian MSM and TGW. Expanded use of the oral HIV test to increase testing rates among Peruvian MSM and TGW is recommended.Trial registration numberNCT01387412, post-results.

Abstract:
Adams famously suggested that the acceptability of any indicative conditional whose antecedent and consequent are both factive sentences amounts to the subjective conditional probability of the consequent given the antecedent. The received view has it that this thesis offers an adequate partial explication of Ramsey’s test, which characterizes graded acceptability for conditionals in terms of hypothetical updates on the antecedent. Some results in van Fraassen (1976) may raise hope that this explicatory approach to Ramsey’s test is extendible to left-nested conditionals, that is, conditionals whose antecedent is itself conditional in form. We argue that this interpretation of van Fraassen’s results is to be rejected. Specifically, we provide an argument from material inadequacy against a generalization of Adams’ thesis for left-nested conditionals.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the ability of artificial neural networks to judge the grammatical acceptability of a sentence, with the goal of testing their linguistic competence. We introduce the Corpus of Linguistic Acceptability (CoLA), a set of 10,657 English sentences labeled as grammatical or ungrammatical from published linguistics literature. As baselines, we train several recurrent neural network models on acceptability classification, and find that our models outperform unsupervised models by Lau et al. (2016) on CoLA. Error-analysis on specific grammatical phenomena reveals that both Lau et al.’s models and ours learn systematic generalizations like subject-verb-object order. However, all models we test perform far below human level on a wide range of grammatical constructions.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction A range of test options are available to diagnose OSA. Test acceptability is measured via successful completion, though this fails to capture the patient preference. There is a paucity of data on acceptability particularly in pregnancy. We thus developed questionnaires to assess test preference and acceptability of Apnealink-Air, Somte and Grael tests, in pregnancy till 24 weeks gestation. Methods Eighty-four pregnant women by 24 weeks gestation were invited to complete home Apnealink-Air, unattended-self-applied-Somte-PSG and attended-Grael-PSG. Questionnaires were beta-tested by hospital staff (unaffiliated with study). Using a 5-point Likert scale, questionnaires assessed ease of use, convenience and acceptability of repeating test. A ranking scale was used to determine test preference. Following completion of tests, participants completed questionnaires. Results Of 59 participants that completed any test, 35 completed any questionnaire (Apnealink(n=33), Somte(n=33), Grael(n=30), preferred test (n=29)). Ranking of test preference demonstrated Apnealink ranked 1st/72.4%, Grael 2nd/20.7% and Somte 3rd/6.9%. Apnealink, Somte and Grael questionnaire data responses were assessed for ease of use (very easy (51.6%), easy / neutral (34.4/34.4%) and very easy (33.3%) respectively), convenience (very convenient (51.6%)), neutral (36.7%) and convenient (50%) respectively), and acceptability to repeat test (very acceptable (41.9%), neutral (43.3%) and neutral(43.3%)), respectively. Discussion Pregnant women being assessed for OSA by 24 weeks gestation preferred Apnealink to Somte and Grael PSG. Participants reported Apnealink easiest to use, most convenient and most acceptable to repeat in a future pregnancy. Patient autonomy is an important principle; womens’ preferences should be taken into consideration in clinical sleep services and research.

Abstract:
Obesity is a pathological state. According to the 2019 AKG, adolescent fiber needs are 37 grams. If snacks are given 10% of the need, then 3.7 grams are obtained per snack. To meet this need, an innovative high-fiber snack is made by formulating red beans into ice cream. The aim is to determine the acceptability and fiber content in red bean ice cream products as an alternative snack to prevent obesity. The research method was an experiment on 4 different formulations with a ratio of skimmed milk and red beans 100 : 0 g, 50 : 50 g, 70 : 30 g , 60 : 40 g then an acceptability test was carried out. The highest acceptability test results will be tested for fiber content with the control formulation. The results showed that the formulation of red bean ice cream that had the highest acceptability was formulation 4 (EKM 4), which was 3.83 in the liking category and contained fiber content of 2.43% / 100 g. One serving of red bean ice cream based on calorie needs is 85 grams with a fiber content of 2.1 grams. Conclusion, the formulation with the highest acceptability is in formulation 4 (EKM 4).

Abstract:
By using a pseudoword paradigm, we tested whether derogatory labels (e.g., pejorative labels addressing group members) differed from category labels and general slur in their descriptive (i.e., pointing to group membership) and expressive functions (i.e., perceived offensiveness and social acceptability). Results indicated that derogatory labels were similar to category labels in their descriptive function, and had higher expressive function than slurs. Participants’ prejudice toward the groups that were targets of derogatory label reduced their perceived offensiveness than in turn increased their social acceptability.

Abstract:
Abstract Undergraduates’ acceptability and attitude towards CBT as the general mode of testing in undergraduate programs were considered in this study. The survey research design was adopted; the population consists of the students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Benin. A sample of 200 was drawn from the total number of students by random sampling. The instrument – Students Attitude and Acceptability of the CBT Scale- was used for data collection, it was developed by the researchers, and the instrument had a reliability coefficient of .076 and .082 for sections B and C respectively. Descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation) were used in answering the research questions while inferential statistics (t-test and ANOVA) were used for hypotheses testing. All statistical data analysis were done using the IBM-SPSS statistical package version 20. Findings revealed that the students have positive Attitude towards the CBT and the level of acceptability of the CBT was found to be high. However, there was no significant difference in the attitude and acceptability by sex, but there was a difference in acceptability by area of study whereas there was none in attitude. It was recommended among others that CBT be introduced as the general mode of testing in the undergraduate programmes except otherwise, in areas where it is not practicable.

Abstract:
Purpose: Smart device-based testing (SBT) is being introduced into the Republic of Korea’s high-stakes examination system, starting with the Korean Emergency Medicine Technician Licensing Examination (KEMTLE) in December 2017. In order to minimize the effects of variation in examinees’ environment on test scores, this study aimed to identify any associations of variables related to examinees’ individual characteristics and their perceived acceptability of SBT with their SBT practice test scores. Methods: Of the 569 candidate students who took the KEMTLE on September 12, 2015, 560 responded to a survey questionnaire on the acceptability of SBT after the examination. The questionnaire addressed 8 individual characteristics and contained 2 satisfaction, 9 convenience, and 9 preference items. A comparative analysis according to individual variables was performed. Furthermore, a generalized linear model (GLM) analysis was conducted to identify the effects of individual characteristics and perceived acceptability of SBT on test scores. Results: Among those who preferred SBT over paper-and-pencil testing, test scores were higher for male participants (mean± standard deviation [SD], 4.36± 0.72) than for female participants (mean± SD, 4.21± 0.73). According to the GLM, no variables evaluated— including gender and experience with computer-based testing, SBT, or using a tablet PC—showed a statistically significant relationship with the total score, scores on multimedia items, or scores on text items. Conclusion: Individual characteristics and perceived acceptability of SBT did not affect the SBT practice test scores of emergency medicine technician students in Korea. It should be possible to adopt SBT for the KEMTLE without interference from the variables examined in this study.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study outlined in this article is to compare the acceptability of style in two contemporary Finnish translations of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz with special reference to the effect of sentence structure on acceptability. For the purposes of this study, acceptability is defined in terms of the norms and expectations prevailing in the language and style of Fin-nish children's fiction which include the requirements of a high degree of readability and natural style. The hypothesis is that the use of complex nonfinite con-structions in one translation decreases readability and consequently lowers acceptability, whereas the other translation is expected to be more readable and acceptable due to its natural, dynamic style characterized by simple finite cons-tructions. The syntactic structures relevant to the readability of the translations are analysed with the help of two linguistic models: a modification of phrasestructure grammar and a propositional model. Three empirical tests, i.e. a cloze test, subjective assessment and a reading test, provide information about the readability and acceptability of the translations.

The only way to judge a product's acceptance in the workplace is through its use. However, before a product is released into the marketplace, its developers would like to predict its acceptability in the target market. One predictor of acceptability is usability test results. Typically, usability testing takes place outside of the user's natural environment in a usability test lab, an artificial environment. This article suggest ways in which ethnographic principles, historically used to describe a culture from the point of view of someone within that culture, can be used along with traditional usability testing to predict a product's acceptability in the marketplace.

Abstract:
Introduction HIV self-testing is a complementary screening strategy that could facilitate access to HIV care services for street adolescents. The objectives of this study were to assess the acceptability and feasibility of HIV self-testing and their associated factors, to estimate HIV prevalence among street adolescents in Togo, and to describe the sexual behavior of this population. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted between July 2021 and May 2022 in Lomé and Kara (Togolese cities with the highest number of street adolescents). Street adolescents aged 13–19 years were included. An oral HIV self-test (OraQuick®) was used. Acceptability was defined as the proportion of adolescents who completed the test, and feasibility was defined as the proportion of adolescents who reported a test with a valid result. An HIV serological test was performed for all participants. A weighted logistic regression model was used to identify the factors associated with the acceptability and feasibility of HIV self-testing. Results A total of 432 street adolescents (12.3% female) with a median age of 15 years, interquartile range (IQR) [14–17], were included in this study. Of the 231 sexually active adolescents, only 30.3% (n = 70) reported having used a condom during their last sexual intercourse. HIV self-test was offered to a sub-sample of 294 street adolescents. Acceptability was 96.6% (284/294), (95%CI = [93.8–98.3]) and feasibility 98.9% (281/284), (95%CI = [97.0–100.0]). Being 16 years of age or older (aOR = 28.84; p<0.001) was associated with HIV self-test acceptability. Reporting drug abuse (aOR = 0.47; p = 0.020) was negatively associated to acceptability. Having an educational level at least equivalent to secondary school was associated to HIV self-testing feasibility (aOR = 3.92; p = 0.040). Self-test results were correctly interpreted by 98.6% of street adolescents. HIV prevalence was estimated at 0.9% (95%CI [0.4–2.4]). Conclusion HIV self-testing is acceptable and feasible among street adolescents, a population at high risk of HIV infection in Togo. The provision of HIV self-testing kits, coupled with condom distribution, represents an opportunity to improve access to HIV care services.

Abstract:
The objective of this work was to determine the sensory profile and the degree of acceptability of samples of commercial dehydrated orange juices (A-B-C) by quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA) and sensory acceptability testing. As samples B and C are marketed with the label “sweet orange”, in sensory tests it was also analyzed whether the assessors and consumers perceived them as any sweeter. A panel of 8 assessors was selected for the QDA test, and trained on evaluating of the dehydrated orange juices. The acceptance test was performed with 50 consumers of both genders, who were selected for their daily consumption of dehydrated juices. In addition, in this test, the influence of gender of consumers on evaluations of the samples was analyzed. In the descriptive test, B and C were characterized by a greater intensity in orange and acid aroma and orange and acid flavor, samples A and C by a larger body, and A and B by exhibiting a greater intensity of the sweet flavor descriptor. In the test with consumers, B and C were perceived as the sweetest and those that presented the greatest overall acceptability. Furthermore, no differences were found between the ratings provided by men and women. DOI: https://doi.org/10.54167/tch.v17i3.1325

Abstract:
BackgroundA simple and efficient exercise test possible in a small space is welcome to supplement 6 min walk test (6MWT) that demands a 100 feet corridor to perform.MethodsThe proposed two chair test (2CT) makes a person to sit and move five times between two chairs placed face to face at 5 feet apart and note the changes in pulse-rate (PR) and arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) at every 10 s for 2 min after that. Comparison of the post-exercise measurements (PR and SpO2) with a repeat performance in same patients was done for reproducibility and doing the same after 6MWT and 2CT in another set of patients was meant for for acceptability. The statistical analysis was made on moment to moment change, mean maximal difference and mean cumulative difference for the measurements using p value, z-score, r value and principal component analysis (PCA).FindingsA total of 40 and 60 volunteers were included for testing reproducibility and acceptability. On both the sets, the difference in most of comparisons between the measured variable (PR and SpO2) showed the p values remaining insignificant (>0.05), and z-score being <1 SD of the corresponding other and the correlation coefficients (r) remaining excellent (>0.9). Furthermore, the PCA shows complete overlapping. The post-exercise changes did not corelate the walking distance in 6MWT.InterpretationThe proposed 2CT demands small space and appears reproducible and comparable with 6MWT in terms of its post-exercise impact on PR and SpO2. This novel test also appears more of cardiopulmonary reserve specific.

Abstract:
We study the influence of context on sentence acceptability. First we compare the acceptability ratings of sentences judged in isolation, with a relevant context, and with an irrelevant context. Our results show that context induces a cognitive load for humans, which compresses the distribution of ratings. Moreover, in relevant contexts we observe a discourse coherence effect that uniformly raises acceptability. Next, we test unidirectional and bidirectional language models in their ability to predict acceptability ratings. The bidirectional models show very promising results, with the best model achieving a new state-of-the-art for unsupervised acceptability prediction. The two sets of experiments provide insights into the cognitive aspects of sentence processing and central issues in the computational modeling of text and discourse.

Abstract:
Purpose: This study aims to determine the organoleptic acceptability and antioxidant activity of bay flower yoghurt with variations in the addition of bay flower extracts of 1%, 3%, and 5%. This research is important because functional foods such as synbiotic products that combine probiotics and prebiotics have significant health benefits. It is hoped that the results of the study will provide information on the optimal level of addition of telang flower extract in yogurt to obtain the best health benefits and good acceptance by consumers. Methodology: A one-factor completely randomized design was used in this study as the experimental method. The factor tested was the addition of bay flower extract with three treatment units: F1 (1%), F2 (3%), and F3 (5%). Data were collected through organoleptic tests on color, aroma, taste, viscosity, and overall by 30 panelists. In addition, antioxidant activity was measured using the DPPH method used to assess the ability of compounds to neutralize free radicals. Results: Organoleptic test results showed that 5% telang flower extract yogurt (F3) had the best acceptability. The antioxidant activity measurement results showed the total antioxidant activity of F1 was 909.88, F2 was IC50 750.8608, and F3 was IC50 1277.024. The antioxidant activity test results showed that the antioxidant strength was weak because the IC50 was more than 150. Findings: This study found that 5% bay flower extract yogurt (F3) had the best organoleptic acceptability. However, the antioxidant activity of bay flower yoghurt was still relatively weak despite the increase in bay flower extract addition. Novelty: This study offers a new approach in making bayang flower extract yoghurt as a source of anthocyanins and antioxidants. The use of telang flower in synbiotic yoghurt products is an innovation that has not been widely explored before. Originality: This study demonstrates originality in incorporating bay flower extract as a functional component in synbiotic yoghurt and evaluating its impact on organoleptic acceptability and antioxidant activity. Conclusion: This study concluded that 5% bay flower extract yoghurt (F3) was the best in terms of organoleptic acceptability, although its antioxidant activity was still weak. Abstract:
Background Widespread use of at-home rapid COVID-19 antigen tests has been proposed as an important public health intervention to interrupt chains of transmission. Antigen tests may be preferred over PCR because they provide on-demand results for relatively low cost and can identify people when they are most likely to be infectious, particularly when used daily. Yet the extent to which a frequent antigen testing intervention will result in a positive public health impact for COVID-19 will depend on high acceptability and high adherence to such regimens. Methods We conducted a mixed-methods study assessing acceptability of and adherence to a daily at-home mobile-app connected rapid antigen testing regimen among employees of a US-based media company. Acceptability was assessed across seven domains of the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability. Results Among 31 study participants, acceptability of the daily testing intervention was generally high, with participants reporting high perceived effectiveness, intervention coherence, and self-efficacy; positive affective attitude; acceptable degree of burden and opportunity cost; and assessing the intervention as ethical. 71% reported a preference to test daily using an at-home antigen test than weekly employment-based PCR. Mean adherence to the 21-day testing regimen was 88% with 43% of participants achieving 100% adherence, 48% testing at least every other day, and 10% testing less than every other day. Conclusions Despite overall high acceptability and adherence, we identified three implementation challenges that must be addressed for frequent serial testing for COVID-19 to be implemented at scale and have a positive public health impact. First, users need guidance on how and when to adapt testing frequencies to different epidemiological conditions. Second, users and institutions need guidelines for how to safely store and share test results. Third, implementation of serial testing strategies must prioritize health equity and protect those most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Abstract:
ObjectivesPatient experiences are critical when determining the acceptability of novel interventional pharmaceuticals. Here, we report the development and validation of a product acceptability questionnaire (SPRAY PAL) assessing feasibility, acceptability and tolerability of an intranasal Q-Griffithsin (Q-GRFT) drug product designed for COVID-19 prophylaxis.DesignSPRAY PAL validation was undertaken as part of an ongoing phase 1 clinical trial designed to test the safety, pharmacokinetics and tolerability of intranasally administered Q-GRFT for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection.SettingThe phase 1 clinical trial took place at a University Outpatient Clinical Trials Unit from November 2021 to September 2023.ParticipantsThe initial SPRAY PAL questionnaire was piloted among healthy volunteers ages 25 to 55 in phase 1a of the clinical trial (N=18) and revised for administration in phase 1b for participants ages 24–59 (N=22).ResultsSpearman correlations tested convergent and discriminant validity. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha, and test–retest reliability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients of responses collected from three repeated questionnaire administrations. The initial version demonstrated excellent internal consistency. The revised version demonstrated very good internal consistency after removal of one item (alpha=0.739). Excellent test–retest reliability (intraclass coefficient=0.927) and adequate convergent (r’s=0.208–0.774) and discriminant (r’s=0.123–0.392) validity were achieved. Subscales adequately distinguished between the constructs of acceptability, feasibility and tolerability.ConclusionsThe SPRAY PAL product acceptability questionnaire is a valid and reliable patient-reported outcomes measure that can be considered a credible tool for assessing patient-reported information about product acceptability, feasibility of use, tolerability of product and side effects and cost of product for novel intranasal drug formulations. The SPRAY PAL is generalisable, and items may be readily adapted to assess other intranasal formulations.Trial registration numbersNCT05122260andNCT05437029.

Abstract:
Nutrition problems in Indonesia are still relatively high. SSGI results (2021) show that malnutrition is 17.1% and stunting is 24.4%. Lack of food consumption, especially protein, is one of the causes. Utilization of tofu dregs is still very low, as is banana blossom. Tofu dregs and banana blossoms have quite a high protein and fiber content. Tofu dregs and banana blossoms have the potential to become a high-nutrient food product that is suitable for consumption and has economic value. This research is a follow-up research from organoleptic tests, finding that vegetable sausages have organoleptic qualities that are no less than commercial sausages. This research aims to conduct laboratory tests for protein and fiber content and tests for the acceptability of vegetable sausages. This type of research is experimental, by design of two groups with control. Test acceptability with the method Visual Comstock by looking at leftovers. The acceptability test was conducted on 51 children in grades IV and V at SDN Pamitran-Cirebon who met the screening criteria. The treatment group consisted of 24 children, and the control group consisted of 27 children. Sample assignment was carried out randomly. Analysis of crude protein content using the IK-03/LAKP/SOP.10 method. Analysis of oil fiber content IK-13/LAKP/SOP.10. Analysis of the difference in receptivity test using the t-test of unpaired data. The research results showed that the protein content of vegetable sausages was (7.54%), slightly lower than commercial sausages (9.29%). The crude fiber content of vegetable sausages (3.48%) is higher than commercial sausages (2.10%). Vegetable sausages have the same acceptability as commercial sausages, with a good acceptability value of 100%. It has been proven that vegetable sausages can be used as an alternative food source of high protein and fiber at a relatively cheaper price.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the determinants of arbitrator acceptability and investigate whether the perceived costs of arbitration moderate the relationship between arbitrator acceptability and arbitrator characteristics in international commercial arbitration. Design/methodology/approach A two-stage analytic process is used to test the dimensionality, reliability and validity of each construct and then the proposed hypotheses. Findings The findings show that the five constructs of arbitrator characteristics – reputation, practical expertise, legal expertise, experience and procedural justice – statistically significantly explain arbitrator acceptability. Moreover, perceived cost of arbitration moderates the relationship between arbitrator acceptability and arbitrator characteristics. However, the moderating effect of perceived costs of arbitration is not equal across characteristics. Research limitations/implications Knowledge regarding potential moderators of the strength of the indicators of arbitrator acceptability will be useful to future researchers in determining which variables to study in arbitrator selection research. Practical implications Useful guidelines in the selection of an international arbitrator are proposed. Originality/value This study contributes to arbitrator acceptability literature through the suggestion of a hypothesized model of arbitrator acceptability with auxiliary hypothesis of reputation in international contexts. In addition, this study investigates the moderating role of perceived cost of arbitration on the relationship between arbitrator acceptability and arbitrator characteristics.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to show the relations of acceptability changes between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions. In order to do this, using the constructions with homomorphic causative/passive verbs, the acceptability between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions is investigated through questionnaire survey and the analysis of the result is executed by SPSS 27.0 program. The paper is structured as follows. First, the acceptability between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions is presented using descriptive statistics. In order to examine the changes in the acceptability between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions, the 'Welch test' is conducted in this analysis. I focus on comparing the acceptability between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions according to the age groups, respectively. Afterwards, it is demonstrated through Pearson correlation analysis and Two Way Anova that there are some relationships between the changes in the acceptability between the lexical causative and lexical passive constructions. Also, the tendencies of the acceptability changes is claimed to be predicted in the lexical causative and the lexical passive constructions. Finally, the thesis concludes by presenting a hypothesis of the interactions on the acceptability between lexical causative and lexical passive constructions.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Introduction: The objective of this study is to analyze the acceptability of the HIV self-test among male adolescents who have sex with male and transgender women in three Brazilian capitals. Method: qualitative study, with 6 focus groups and 37 in-depth interviews with 58 participants, from the cities of Belo Horizonte, Salvador and São Paulo, whose thematic analysis was based on the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability. Results: the HIV self-test had good acceptability, although it was not homogeneous among participating adolescents. Positive aspects include, for example, agility, privacy, autonomy, monitoring one’s health, and emotional and stigma management. In another direction are concerns about how to deal with an eventual reactive result and whether self-testing is a prevention strategy. The place where self-tests are given out is decisive to improving their use, which depends on cultural competence to accommodate sexual and gender diversities of adolescents. Conclusion: This study has shown that HIV self-testing is a fundamental strategy to increase adolescent autonomy and self-care. These should be considered to better adapt the test to local youth cultures and, consequently, achieve better compliance.
