Abstract:
This research determines the Acceptable Level of Acceptance (ALA) based on the countries with active Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The ALA is a particular value of public acceptance of NPP, indicating public support and participation in the program. If the public acceptance level is lower than the ALA, then the probability of public resistance against the program is relatively high and would harm the NPP. There is no correlation between the number of populations. This research uses four categories to classify public acceptance: (1) low, (2) moderate, (3) high, and (4) very high. Based on these categories, this research suggests that the moderate ALA is 27.5% of the acceptance level.

Abstract:
ObjectivesThe management of the COVID-19 pandemic hinges on the approval of safe and effective vaccines but, equally importantly, on high vaccine acceptance among people. To facilitate vaccine acceptance via effective health communication, it is key to understand levels of vaccine scepticism and the demographic, psychological and political predictors. To this end, we examine the levels and predictors of acceptance of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.Design, setting and participantsWe examine the levels and predictors of acceptance of an approved COVID-19 vaccine in large online surveys from eight Western democracies that differ in terms of the severity of the pandemic and their response: Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Italy, UK and USA (total N=18 231). Survey respondents were quota sampled to match the population margins on age, gender and geographical location for each country. The study was conducted from September 2020 to February 2021, allowing us to assess changes in acceptance and predictors as COVID-19 vaccine programmes were rolled out.Outcome measureThe outcome of the study is self-reported acceptance of a COVID-19 vaccine approved and recommended by health authorities.ResultsThe data reveal large variations in vaccine acceptance that ranges from 83% in Denmark to 47% in France and Hungary. Lack of vaccine acceptance is associated with lack of trust in authorities and scientists, conspiratorial thinking and a lack of concern about COVID-19.ConclusionMost national levels of vaccine acceptance fall below estimates of the required threshold for herd immunity. The results emphasise the long-term importance of building trust in preparations for health emergencies such as the current pandemic. For health communication, the results emphasise the importance of focusing on personal consequences of infections and debunking of myths to guide communication strategies.

Abstract:
This study investigates the level of acceptance of news stories on social media platforms among youth in Nigeria following the assumption that the proliferation of news stories on social media promotes the circulation of both factual and fake news. The sample consisted of 600 youth; however, 583 validly participated in the study. The participants were equitably selected in six States in Nigeria that represented the six geo-political zones of the country. The multi-stage sampling technique was employed to evenly select the youth from the major cities/towns in the States. Data generated were analysed and presented through descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS version 20 software. Results show that the youth accepted entertainment news stories more than any other type of news stories on social media platforms. The majority of the youth considered Twitter as the most acceptable social media platform for receiving news stories in Nigeria. Findings also revealed that despite their love to read news stories on social media platforms, the youth’s level of acceptance of it was low. Furthermore, the age and gender of the youth were found to directly influence their level of acceptance of news stories on social media platforms. The study concluded that the multi-dimensional inter-play that characterised the low level of acceptance of news stories on social media platforms among the youth in Nigeria does not portend ominous signs. Abstract:
A robust level of self-awareness and self-acceptance is crucial for flight cadets. In this study, a total of 106 flight cadets from various grades and flight training sites were assessed using the self-awareness and self-acceptance scale. The scales were optimized through item analysis, reliability, and validity assessments. The finalized scales demonstrated an acceptable level of reliability and validity. Upon analyzing the collected data, it was observed that the overall self-awareness and -acceptance levels among the evaluated pilot students fell within the normal range. However, identifying positive symptoms directly proved challenging. The tested flight cadets exhibited moderate symptoms across each factor, with instances of severe symptoms in academic self-awareness. Notably, flight cadets trained abroad exhibited a lower level of self-awareness and -acceptance compared to those trained in China. But this phenomenon was not reflected in grade difference. Regression analysis revealed that physical and emotional self-awareness dimensions accounted for 62% of the variations in the psychological dimension, while passive self-acceptance explained 72% of the changes in active self-acceptance. Finally, in view of the issues found in the research, corresponding management measures and recommendations are presented to enhance the self-awareness and -acceptance levels of flight cadets.

Abstract:
A method has been established to measure the maximum acceptable background noise level (BNL) for a listener, while listening to speech at the most comfortable listening level (MCL). The acceptable noise level (ANL) is the difference between BNL and MCL. In the present study, the ANL procedure was used to measure acceptance of noise, first, in the presence of speech at MCL and, then, for speech presented at much lower and higher levels in listeners with normal hearing. This study used the term ANL to describe the results obtained at MCL and also at other speech presentation levels. The mean ANL at MCL was 15.5 dB, which is comparable to results obtained by previous investigators. ANL increases systematically with speech presentation level. Mean ANLs ranged from 10.6 dB when speech was presented at 20 dB HL to 24.6 dB when speech was presented at 76 dB HL. The results indicated that the acceptance of noise depends significantly on speech presentation level.

Abstract:
This paper is a part of various linked studies towards unravelling the reasons behind the poor performance of Nigeria in the SDG 4 index. With less than 10 years to the 2030 target for achieving a 17-goal developmental plan for United Nation member states, Nigeria is still at a loss as to actualizing the pivotal Sustainable Development Goal of quality education. Results from a voluntary assessment body, Voluntary National Review (VNR) as well as SDG index reports indicate that the Nigerian education sector has major challenges and not much has been achieved from the time of goal setting till date. The researcher, considered technology as a means for advancing the education quality through making learning more entertaining and engaging. The students were presented with questionnaire to determine their acceptance of visual learning. The result shows, that majority of the students accept visual learning tools, find it interactive and retain knowledge gained from visual learning aids more than traditional learning pattern. Abstract:
The common acceptance sampling plan needs to specify two points in the operating characteristic curve, which represent the producers and customers risks, respectively. The points are determined in a subjective way and hence may result in unfairness. This paper presents a new approach, which determines the acceptance sampling plan based on the condition that the risks of producer and customer at acceptable quality level are the same. Another condition is introduced to control the mean risk of producer. The approach can considerably simplify the design of acceptance sampling plan, and is illustrated by an example.

Abstract:
This study explored the preparedness and acceptance of receiving teachers toward the inclusion of learners with special educational needs (LSENs) at Sogod Central School in Southern Leyte. Using a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, the research aimed to determine the relationship between teachers’ preparedness focusing on pedagogical knowledge, professional development, classroom environment, and instructional strategies and their level of acceptance of inclusive education. Data were collected through a structured survey questionnaire adapted from Kern (2006), and responses were gathered from ten teachers who had been consistently catering to LSENs for more than two years. Results showed that teachers were moderately prepared overall, with the highest preparedness in instructional strategies, followed by professional development, classroom environment, and pedagogical knowledge. Teachers also demonstrated a moderately acceptable level of inclusion acceptance. Strong positive relationships were found between preparedness and acceptance, particularly in instructional strategies and pedagogical knowledge, both of which were statistically significant. These findings indicate that when teachers are well-equipped with effective teaching strategies and a solid educational foundation, their willingness to embrace inclusive practices increases. The study emphasizes the importance of ongoing teacher training and support systems that foster inclusive mindsets. Strengthening instructional competence and pedagogical foundations can significantly influence positive attitudes and readiness toward inclusive education. Schools and policymakers should prioritize continuous professional development to promote successful inclusive learning environments.

Abstract:
Drawing from social domain theory, this study examined people’s evaluation of society-level disease-prevention regulations (e.g., school closure) and personal precautions (e.g., wearing a facemask) during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, as assessed in Spring, 2020. Participants from three countries (United States [US], China, and Japan; N = 528) rated their acceptance of a range of society-level and individual-level preventive measures and then indicated their main reasons for these ratings, which were categorized as moral, societal, personal, and prudential based on social domain theory. Consistent with this theoretical framework, we found both similarities and differences across the three societies. Specifically, we found that, across the three societies, moral considerations predicted higher acceptance of society-level preventive measures, whereas personal considerations predicted lower acceptance of both society-level and individual-level preventive measures. However, a stronger link between societal considerations and higher acceptance of society-level preventive measures was found for Chinese participants than for US and Japanese participants.

Abstract:
The article considers the formation of independence in adolescents under the influence of emotional acceptance from parents in Vietnam and Russia. Parental emotional acceptance helps teenagers gain self-confidence and avoid difficulties when they make decisions and solve problems, thereby developing independence in thinking and behaviour. Using the methodologies “Behaviour of parents and the attitude of adolescents to them” by E. Shafer and “Diagnostics of students’ independence” by L.A. Sergienko, the authors analyse the correlation between emotional acceptance from influential parents and the level of a teenager’ autonomy. In addition, the influence of fathers and mothers on the independence of adolescents is different. The results show that emotional acceptance from both parents helps teenagers develop autunomy better than emotional acceptance from just one person. Besides, the level of emotional support is higher among Russian parents than among Vietnamese ones, and this leads to the fact that Russian teenagers are more independent than Vietnamese ones. Emotional acceptance from parents plays an important role in the development of autonomy in children, therefore parents need to create healthy relationships with them.

Abstract:
The introduction of COVID-19 vaccines in sub-Saharan Africa has been met with mixed feelings. In Ghana, several concerns were raised about the potency and side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. We investigated the acceptance and risk perception of students on the KNUST campus and the residents of the surrounding communities to assess the risk factors that will influence their willingness or unwillingness to be vaccinated in the government’s quest to get its citizens vaccinated. A well-structured questionnaire was administered online and through face-to- face interviews to survey 3332 respondents between the periods of March 15 and May 28, 2021. Chi-square analysis was used to show the association between the sociodemographic characteristics and, the acceptance and risk perception of the COVID-19 vaccine. Logistic regression analysis was used to explain the relationship between the acceptance and risk perception of the COVID-19 vaccine and the various socio-demographic characteristics. Out of 3323 respondents, 1,703 (45.23%) were hesitant whiles 64.39% of 3311 indicated they would accept being vaccinated. In a multivariate analysis, the age range of 31 to 40 years, being male, having secondary level education, and having a previous vaccination post-childhood immunization increased the likelihood of vaccine acceptance. More than half of the students of KNUST and inhabitants around the campus are likely to acceptant the COVID-19 vaccine. However, adequate and timely information is needed to educate prospective vaccine recipients with tertiary level education to better the level of acceptance and address misinformation about vaccines and promote individual and population-level benefits of vaccination.

Abstract:
Abstract Nori is processed seaweed that is quite popular, including in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics and consumer acceptance level of nori from Sargassum hystrix seaweed. S. hystrix (in wet and/or dry form) was soaked in 0.01% NaOH, then blended into a slurry. S. hystrix slurry was molded in size 15x15 cm and dried in an oven (70°C, 3 hours). The analysis included thickness, hardness, proximate analysis, antioxidant activity with 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), antidiabetic activity, and hedonic tests. The results of this study indicate that the composition of the initial conditions of raw materials has a significant effect (P<0.05) on the characteristics and consumer acceptance level of S. hystrix nori. The best treatment was obtained on nori made from the initial raw material in wet form with the characteristics of a thickness of 0.34 mm, hardness of 335.21 gf, water content of 14.47%, ash content of 21.22%, protein content of 7.51%, fat content of 9.64%, total phenol content of 21.01 mg GAE/g, DPPH inhibition activity 62.77%, FRAP value 133.50 M/g, (-glucosidase inhibitory activity 43.81%, and consumer acceptance level of appearance 2.66, aroma 2.41, texture 3.06, flavour 3.26, and color 2.98.

Growing diversity in terms of values and worldviews is one of the main challenges in current European societies. It is often argued that, in these societies, suspicion toward some aspects and forms of religion, if not religion in general is one of the main obstacles toward the acceptance of minority religious practices. In this article, we focused on the role of religion as a part of culture across European societies in allowing or inhibiting the expression of a religious identity by wearing visible religious symbols in the workplace. We examined the, intuitive but still to be tested, assumption that religious identity expression is more accepted in societies with an elevated level of societal religiosity in a European context. Using the 2006 data of Eurobarometer 65.4 on discrimination, we examined differences in the acceptance of religious identity expression through support for wearing visible religious symbols in 26 European societies. Results of multilevel analyses showed cross-societal variation in the acceptance of wearing visible religious symbols and that societal religiosity positively predicts the acceptance of religious identity expression. Our results showed that it is meaningful to differentiate between European countries when examining the role of cultural characteristics at the societal level when analyzing individual attitudes related to identity expressions and their acceptance.

Abstract:
This study investigates the factors determining consumers’ acceptance of takaful (Islamic insurance) in Nigeria. The main objective is to explore the Shariah view, price, service quality, attitude, awareness, subjective norm and perceived behavior control of Nigerian citizens towards the acceptance of takaful services in the country. One of the obstacles currently facing the takaful industry in Nigeria is the lack of awareness about takaful products. To examine the acceptance and awareness of takaful in Nigeria, 209 questionnaires were distributed to respondents in five states, including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and Enugu; and the data collected were analyzed using SPSS, version 25. The results show that Shariah view, locality, consumer acceptance, service quality, attitude, awareness, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control are the factors influencing the awareness and acceptance level of takaful in Nigeria. The implication of this study is that the majority of respondents do not possess sufficient information to differentiate between conventional and Islamic insurance. As such, for proper implementation and development of takaful in Nigeria, it is important for the policymakers and other stakeholders to provide enough information about the takaful services, products, and operating system to the general public. The future of takaful industry in the country will be determined by a proper understanding of the operating system and the rights of participants as well as other stakeholders, including customers and insurance regulatory bodies.

Abstract:
Research on the acceptance of consuming insects in one’s diet shows the increasing importance of this issue in the context of a sustainable food chain and ecology. Insects represent a promising food source due to their high nutritional value, efficiency in production, and minimal environmental impact, as well as the growing awareness of ecological issues. Despite these benefits, cultural and psychological barriers hinder the acceptance of consuming insects in Western countries. In this study, an assessment was made of the acceptance level of cream-type soups made from tomatoes and white vegetables with the addition of 20% flour from four insect species: mealworm (T. molitor); house cricket (A. domesticus); buffalo worm (A. diaperinus); and grasshopper (R. differens), compared to a control sample. One hundred and four subjects (55 seniors and 49 young adults) participated in this study. The acceptance level of various soups with insect flour was evaluated, considering different sensory parameters such as appearance, smell, taste, and texture. The research showed that older people have a lower acceptance for dishes containing insects compared to young adults, but the differences in the responses given were not statistically significant (p = 0.05), rejecting the assumption that insect-based products should be mainly targeted at young people. Of all the proposed test samples, the mealworm (T. molitor) was the most acceptable insect species in the tests in both taste versions for both age groups. The average score was 6.63 points on a 10-point scale. The products with the addition of grasshopper (R. differens) were rated the lowest. The acceptance level ranged between 4.23 and 4.38 points. A multiple regression analysis showed that taste and texture had the strongest influence on the overall acceptance of these dishes, and the results obtained were highly correlated with the general opinion of the testers. The increasing acceptance level and growing interest in this type of food can be a positive step towards sustainable and efficient food production.

Abstract:
This study sought to understand users' acceptance behavior towards the paid policy (monetization of online services). To this end, we looked at the difference in acceptance behavior, which varies depending on the level of relationship between the user and the service and the existence of alternatives. The analysis subjects of this study were mobile games, video platforms, and online courses, which are representative paid services. As a result of the verification, the group with a high level of addiction to paid services showed more positive acceptance behavior towards the paid policy than the group with a low addiction level. In addition, groups that thought there were no alternatives other than the service showed more positive acceptance of the paid policy than those who thought there were other alternatives. In addition, by examining the effect of users' addiction level on paid policy acceptance by online service type, it was found that the high-addicted group most actively embraces the paid policy in mobile games, while the low-addicted group has the most negative paid policy acceptance behavior in mobile games. On the other hand, as a result of verifying how the existence of alternatives perceived by users affects the acceptance of paid policy by each type of online service, the acceptance behavior of users who perceived that alternatives do not exist on video platforms such as YouTube was the highest, and the acceptance behavior of users who perceived that alternatives exist in mobile games was the lowest.

Abstract:
Introduction: Cancer threatens life and brings about many negative emotions in patients, which influence their satisfaction with life and contribute to a low level of their acceptance of illness. This is why the acceptance of illness is a serious problem among patients with cancer; contributes to the intensification of symptoms; and influences the patient’s physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual condition. Aim: The purpose of this work is to assess the acceptance of illness and satisfaction with life in patients with cancer, as well as to identify social, demographical, and clinical factors that significantly differentiate their acceptance of illness and satisfaction with life. Materials and Methods: The study involved 120 patients with cancer aged 18 to 88. The study was conducted in the form of a questionnaire based on standard research tools: Acceptance of Illness (AIS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Social, demographical, and clinical data were collected in the original questionnaire. Results: A group of 120 patients was studied, including 55.83% (n = 67) women and 44.16% (n = 53) men. The average age was 56. A general acceptance-of-illness index obtained by the patients was 21.6 ± 7.32 and a general satisfaction-with-life index was 19.14 ± 5.78. The statistical analysis indicated a significant correlation between the acceptance of illness and the intensity of pain (rHO = −0.19; p < 0.05), fatigue ((Z = 1.92; p > 0.05), and diarrhoea (t(118) = 2.54; p < 0.05). The correlation between the intensity of pain and satisfaction with life was negative (rHO = −0.20; p < 0.05). Conclusion: The greater acceptance of illness, the greater satisfaction with life in patients with cancer. Pain, fatigue, and diarrhoea decrease the acceptance of illness. In addition, pain decreases the level of satisfaction with life. Social and demographical factors do not determine the level of acceptance of illness and satisfaction with life.

Abstract:
Abstract Sixteen different aflatoxin sampling plan designs were evaluated using the negative-binomial distribution. Evaluations were used to predict the effects of 4 different sample sizes and 4 different sample acceptance levels on the classification of farmers’ stock lots according to the lot aflatoxin concentration. The 4 sample sizes evaluated were 2.27 kg (5 lb), 4.54 kg (10 lb), 9.08 kg (20 lb), and 18.16 kg (40 lb). The 4 sample acceptance levels evaluated were 5,50,100, and 180 ng/g. A decrease in the sample acceptance level from 180 to 5 ng/g decreased the number of lots accepted at all lot concentrations, increased the number of lots rejected at all lot concentrations, and decreased the average aflatoxin concentrations among all lots accepted. At the highest sample acceptance level, 180 ng/g, increase in sample size from 2.27 to 18.16 kg decreased the percent of lots accepted at concentrations above the sample acceptance level and increased the percent of lots accepted at concentrations below the sample acceptance level. At the lowest sample acceptance level investigated, 5 ng/g, an increase in sample size from 2.27 to 18.16 kg decreased the percent of lots accepted at all concentrations. The effect of using sampling designs with 2 sample acceptance levels to classify lots into 3 categories was investigated. The advantages of using dual sample acceptance levels over a single sample acceptance level was demonstrated for 2.27 and 9.08 kg samples.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to determine how the utilization of ICT-based tools enhances the skills of teachers, particularly in the context of pedagogy. The quantitative descriptive-correlation research design with cluster sampling was employed to satisfy the objectives of the study. The Pearson Correlation and Likert scale were employed to determine the level of Technology Acceptance and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics teachers. From the quantitative analysis of the data, findings showed that the popular software choices among Elementary Mathematics teachers across various categories are H5P for authoring softwares, while EndNote is the preferred reference management tool. Microsoft Office (Word) for desktop publishing, Video LAN Client for tutorial software, Kahoot 360 for educational games and zoom for video conferencing software. Elementary Mathematics teachers have a predominantly very low mean level of utilization for various software applications across different categories. It was also revealed that the level of elementary Mathematics teachers in Technology Acceptance of ICT usefulness is strongly acceptable. Furthermore, the level of Technology Acceptance of Ease of use disclosed that the respondents express an acceptance of its Ease of use in ICT utilization. Meanwhile, the overall level of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK) of the teachers is very high. On the other hand, the relationships between the level of utilization of ICT-Based tools and other software applications are classified as very weak. However, there is a weak relationship between Technology Acceptance level in terms of the usefulness of ICT and ease of use of ICT and TPCK. This correlation is not significant. Thus, the levels of Technology Acceptance in terms of usefulness and ease of use of ICT are closely related to the utilization of ICT in teaching. A strong TPCK foundation can help teachers maximize the potential of ICT in their classrooms, while the perceived usefulness and ease of use of ICT can contribute to the growth of TPCK. Provision of comprehensive training to elementary Mathematics teachers may address the perception of respondents on the usefulness of ICT and, administrator’s empowerment to effectively utilize ICT-based tools in their classrooms, ultimately enhancing teachers’ teaching pedagogy.

Abstract:
In August 2024, the Somali government introduced a 5% sales tax, sparking mixed reactions from various segments of society, particularly traders and consumers. Many opposed the tax, citing concerns over its potential negative impact on businesses and the economy. In response, we conducted a study to examine public concerns about the Value Added Tax (VAT) and assess its level of acceptance in Somalia Purpose: To assess the public acceptance level of VAT implementation in Somalia Methodology: The research employed a quantitative approach, using questionnaires as the primary data collection tool. The target population consisted of individuals directly affected by VAT, particularly those engaged in business activities. The study initially aimed for 400 respondents, but valid responses were received from 300 participants, resulting in a 75% response rate. A random sampling method was used to ensure fairness and diversity in the sample. Data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS version 27 for Windows to determine frequencies and percentages. Findings: The findings reveal a significant gap in public awareness regarding the 5% sales tax. Additionally, the study identified a widespread perception that the tax is unaffordable. The belief that taxation disproportionately impacts lower-income groups is also reflected in the study's findings. Research Limitations: This study focused solely on the level of public acceptance of VAT implementation in Somalia. Therefore, the findings may not be generalizable to other countries. Originality/value: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study sheds light on level of public acceptance of VAT implementation in Somalia.

Abstract:
Primary schools that have recently implemented Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI) are experiencing an adverse perception and lack of acceptance of mainstream pupils towards special education needs pupils (MBPK). The aim of this study is to identify the level of knowledge, affective and behaviour of mainstream pupils towards acceptance of MBPK. This study employs a quantitative approach to conduct a descriptive survey. A random sampling technique was used to obtain 60 respondents who consisted of the population of second level mainstream pupils in SJK (C) Port Dickson district. To collect feedback from respondents, this study used a questionnaire instrument. The findings indicate that the level of acceptance is high, with a mean score of 3.52 based on knowledge, affective and behaviour factors. The mean scores for knowledge, affective and behavior are comparatively high at 3.64, 3.64, and 3.27, respectively. Therefore, the school should aim to strive for an integration programme to promote mainstream pupils acceptance of MBPK.
