Abstract
The research described in this article can be described as an explorative study that focused on
obtaining and analysing perceptions and attitudes of public sector officials in Pretoria regarding the
possible introduction of teleworking in their working environment. The term teleworking was understood
in the sense of using computers to work from home or working at a distance away from the
office. The research question that was posed was: What perceptions and attitudes exist among
public sector officials in Pretoria that could contribute to, or impede, the acceptance of teleworking
in South African government departments? Specific attention was given to perceptions of possible
benefits or other impacts of teleworking, indications of public sector officials' ability to use computers
for teleworking purposes, attitudes toward computers and teleworking, and the behavioural
intention to use teleworking in future. The questionnaire and results were structured along the lines of
the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of Davis. It was found that there was firm support among
the officials for public sector teieworking - especially in terms of those views and perceptions that
served as indicators for relevant TAM constructs such as 'perceived ease of use regarding teleworking',
'perceived usefulness of teleworking', 'attitude toward teleworking' and 'intention to use
teleworking'.

New information systems will only improve organisational performance if they are accepted and
used to their full capacity. It is therefore important to be able to understand, explain and predict the
factors affecting technology acceptance. One model which has been successful at this is the
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM; Davis, 1986). This study tests an extension of the TAM in
a mandatory usage environment. The extended TAM proposed here incorporates two new
independent measures; past behaviour and perceived behavioural control. Participants were 285
members of an Australian Government Department who had been using a new information system
for approximately 4 months. Usage of the system was mandated in organisational policy and there
were no alternative systems or processes available to participants to complete their job
requirements. Results indicate that when information system usage is mandatory (or nonvolitional)
perceived behavioural control significantly increases the ability of the extended TAM
to predict system acceptance behaviour. Furthermore, self-reports of system usage were not related
to the participants intention to use the system and user satisfaction was the only dependent variable
accurately predicted by the model. Past behaviour did not predict either behavioural intention or
behaviour in this study. The implications of these findings for technology acceptance in modern
organisations and areas for future research are discussed.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om faktorn pris påverkar konsumenter vid användning av bankens digitala tjänster. Metod: Vår studie är baserad på en kvantitativ forskningsmetod, som genomfördes medwebbaserade enkäter. Av de 164 påbörjade enkäterna, fick vi ut 162 representativa svar.Av insamlad empirisk data gjorde vi sedan en korrelationsanalys med hjälp avprogrammet SPSS. Analys: Studien visar att variabeln pris har en påverkan på kunder i valet av att användabankernas digitala tjänster. Pris tenderar att bli mindre framträdande då kunden uppleverett högt PU (upplevd användbarhet) eller PEOU (upplevd användarvänlighet). Förslag på vidare forskning: En replikation av denna studie hade varit intressant att semed ett annat urval. Vid genomförandet av denna studie har vi använt oss av ettbekvämlighetsurval, där större delen av respondenterna haft tidigare erfarenhet avinternetbanken. Teoretiskt och Praktiskt bidrag: Studien tydliggör att priset har en betydelse föracceptansen av ny teknologi, i detta fall internetbanken. Problematiska delen som organisationer har är att veta hur man på bästa sätt ska implementera nya teknologier. Teknologiacceptans blev en känd term av den mest applicerade teoretiska modellen inom informationssystem Technology acceptance model – TAM. Teknologiacceptans innebär det positiva beslutet att använda sig av en teknologi och inom denna studie kommer fokus ligga på socialt inflytande inom teknologiacceptans. Socialt inflytande innebär mellanmänsklig övervägande faktor vid beslut, vilket tar hänsyn till att beslutet att acceptera ny teknologi görs oftast tillsammans i grupp eller hur individens beslut gör så att de passar in i gruppen eller hur beslutet påverkar andra personer. En undersökning gjordes för att undersöka följande frågeställning: Hur påverkar socialt inflytande teknologiacceptansen för obligatoriska system? Frågan har undersökt genom en enkät som användes för att få en överblick i problemområdet vilket sedan blev grunden för intervjufrågorna. Totalt deltog 12 stycken personer inom enkäten och 4 stycken inom intervjun. Sammanfattningen av resultatet bildades rekommendationer som organisationer kan tänka på innan de påbörjar införandet av ny teknologi inom organisationen.

This research study examined the acceptance of the intranet in restaurant franchise systems. The widely accepted Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed by Davis (1986, 1989) was the basis for this study. TAM is an excellent model to predict information technology (IT) usage and is based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). Therefore, TAM was adopted in this study of intranet acceptance. Furthermore, this study attempted to see if the earlier results of TAM are still valid. The original model was modified to include one external variable, franchise support. Data were collected from franchise restaurant systems throughout the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Of 3,500 questionnaires distributed to individual users of intranet, 161 contained usable responses. The results of regression analysis confirm that TAM is valid for additional applications such as evaluating the intranet in restaurant franchise systems.<br>Ph. D.

Two decades of technological advances in internet, security, wireless, social media and networking technologies have introduced the most promising NFP systems - donor management systems (DMS). The number of DMSs available in the marketplace as well as the breadth of their feature and functionality offerings has grown tremendously to overcome NFP challenges which include program and service performance accountabil.ity, financial and operational transparency, and declines in funding sources. These systems enable NFP organizations to perform more intelligent campaigning and achieve a higher level of donor interactions resulting in greater monetary and voluntary contributions in addition to increases in donor and constituent advocacy and public support. Research indicates that NFP have experienced reduced operational and program costs, increased staff productivity, increased monetary contributions, when leveraging DMSs as part of a comprehensive fundraising program.
While NFP adoption of the systems is increasing, adoption rates are much lower when compared to the for-profit sectors adoption cycle for newer technologies. Adopting the technology acceptance model (TAM), this study examined the factors that determine health and human service NFP employees' behavioral intentions to use DMSs. The proposed models included the original TAM factors of perceived usefulness and ease of use and incorporated the additional factors of user experience and organizational support, which have been found to influence an individual's intention to use technology.
The model's predictive capability was measured using multiple regression techniques against data captured via an electronic survey sent to 100 health and human service organizations in the Mississippi Delta region of the US. Results from the 173 participant responses indicated that perceived ease of use and DMS experience directly influenced user perceptions toward DMSs and their subsequent intention to use the systems. The findings further indicated that the factors of perceived usefulness, NFP experience, and Organizational support did not significantly extend the model in predicting behavioral intention. The research was not able to replicate typical predictive capabilities of the core TAM in the context of health and human services NFP organizations.

The implementation of a new Information Technology in an organization represents a
significant change. Little research, however, has been conducted on the collective
power of Information Technology acceptance and change management. The current
research seeks to integrate a prominent model of technology acceptance and change
management theory to develop an holistic approach to Information Technology
implementation and acceptance. Using Davis' (1989) Technology Acceptance Model
(TAM) (Attitude) and Beer, Eisenstat and Specter's (1990) six step model of change
(Change), this three phase longitudinal case study examined the change management
of the implementation of a new Information System within a statutory authority.
Results from the current study show that the addition of the six step model (Change)
adds appreciably to the TAM (Attitude) in the prediction of general service
satisfaction and perceived implementation success. Findings also show the temporal
salience of the factors of the six step model and the TAM in the prediction of these
dependent variables. The current research supports previous work by Davis (1989)
and Thompson, Higgins and Howell (1994) who stated that initially people are
motivated to use an Information System by affect, but will in time be more concerned
with usefulness as habit formation occurs. The current study found that during the
pre-implementation phase, commitment through communication and vision are
critical to the change process. However, as the change moves into the implementation
phase, consensus becomes most important. The shift in factors salient during the
change process is what the author refers to as the temporal progression proposition.
Strengths and limitations of the current study and recommendations for future
research are discussed.

We live in a society that is becoming more and more digital, where new technologies revolutionize several industries, and technological advances go faster every day. There may be an understanding that companies and organizations want to keep up with this digitization and not fall behind. But what happens if companies go too fast without involving the people who actually use their systems and services? The purpose of this study was to find possible problematic factors in digitizing a form in a PDF format. This form is used for the purpose of enrolling a principal administrator to further log in on a corporate service at Fora AB, with BankID or mobile BankID. An additional purpose for the study was to create a new design proposal by creating a prototype. An empirical data collection has been conducted through usability tests that included interview questions and observation of use. The theoretical framework underlying the study is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and its view on user acceptance. The study has resulted in a number of factors that leads the user not accept the system, these factors have formulated into three improvement areas; simple navigation, digitizing all the way and minimizing technical requirements.<br>Vi lever i ett samhälle som blir mer och mer digitalt, där nya tekniker revolutionerar flera branscher och den teknologiska utvecklingen går snabbare för varje dag. Det kan finnas en förståelse för att företagen och organisationerna vill hänga med i denna digitalisering och inte hamna efter. Men vad händer om företagen går för snabbt fram utan att involvera de människor som faktiskt ska använda deras system och tjänster? Denna studie har haft som syfte att finna eventuella problematiska faktorer i en digitalisering utav en blankett i PDF-format. Denna blankett används i syfte av att anmäla en huvudadministratör för att vidare kunna logga in på en företagstjänst på Fora AB, med BankID eller mobilt BankID. Ett ytterligare syfte för studien var att skapa ett nytt designförslag i form av en prototyp. En empirisk datainsamling har utförts genom användbarhetstester som inkluderade intervjufrågor samt observation av användning. Det teoretiska ramverket som legat till grund för studien är the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) och dess syn på användaracceptans. Studien har resulterat i ett flertal faktorer som bidrar till att användaren inte accepterar systemet, dessa faktorer har formulerats till tre förbättringsområden; enkel navigation, digitalisera hela vägen samt minimera krav på teknisk kunskap.

"As the delivery of healthcare has become more sophisticated, scientific, and complex, the need for HIM (Health Information Management) professionals at all levels has increased, and the role and status of those managing these functions has increased accordingly." (AHIMA, September 24, 2007). Studies by the Institute of Medicine and others have found suboptimal technology use throughout the healthcare industry. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) developed the e-HIM Virtual Lab (V-lab) to train students in the use of new technology applications in response to IOM findings. Faculty are the gatekeepers for use of instructional technology in educational settings. Many disciplines have evaluated instructional technology use by students. There are very few studies on faculty use of instructional technology. There are no published studies of the determinant factors influencing health information management (HIM) faculty use of instructional technology. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the faculty's attitude and behavior toward the use of the V-lab instructional technology. A non-random one group pretest posttest design was used to test the hypothetical Instructional Perception -Technology Acceptance Model (IP- TAM) for faculty perceptions regarding system functionality, usability and technology acceptance. The Path Analysis determined the strongest construct indicators for intent to use the V-lab were Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease Of Use (PEOU), System Functionality and Usability (SFU). A survey conducted by the United Nations in 2016 endorses this fact, showing a high rate of technological development with respect to e-government. However, the same publication showed the low rate of citizen participation about it. These results show how, although there are many government technological services, these do not focus on the citizen or in their active participation, but mainly on technological development. In the present study, an adoption model is proposed, extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) incorporating public value, specifically environmental sustainability, as an external variable. The validation of the proposal was made through a validated survey with experts in the environmental field and applied to citizens of the Peruvian capital. Our results show that environmental sustainability is a factor that positively affects the adoption of e-government in Peru and that should be considered by the authorities as an enhancer of citizen participation about it.

This research analyzed why some university faculty resisted a new software program using a new model of motivation. The new model, called the motivation and acceptance model (MAM), was inspired by the technology acceptance model and the commitment and necessary effort model of motivation. This model was tested on faculty at a college in a large southeastern university who were resisting a new software program called LiveText. This research used regression analysis to determine the relationship between the variables of the MAM: perceived usefulness, perceived organizational support, perceived ease of use, and attitude toward LiveText. The research was conducted during the Spring 2007 semester. The data were analyzed with regression, independent-sample t-tests, and descriptive statistics using SPSS v15. This research demonstrates that the MAM accurately measured the relationship between professors' perceptions and their use of LiveText. The research also suggests that the perceived utility of LiveText and users' attitudes toward LiveText were statistically significant predictors of LiveText use and that perceived ease of use also predicted whether the professors found LiveText useful. Additional research should seek to develop a greater understanding of technology acceptance and employee resistance to innovations using larger sample sizes, a variety of environments and organizations, diverse populations, and different types of technologies and technology-implementation strategies.<br>Ph.D.<br>Department of Educational Research, Technology and Leadership<br>Education<br>Education PhD

The purpose of this research was to examine students' acceptance of the World Wide Web Course Tools (WebCT) online learning system. The Perceived Resources and Technology Acceptance Model (PRATAM) was created based on previous research to address the factors of perceived resources, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using, behavioral intention to use and actual system use. The aim for this research was to investigate the critical determinants and provide the causal relationships regarding students' acceptance behaviors when using WebCT. While institutions are expecting to adopt online learning to reach more students, there are still many challenges for institutions to retain students in their online courses. The literature review conducted in this research indicated that the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has successfully explained students' behaviors when they use educational information systems. In addition, the additional perceived resources variable in the PRATAM also showed a significant influence on the other belief and intention variables. The study analyzed a total of 115 students responses in two surveys administered during two WebCT based courses taught at a large southeastern public university. The beliefs, attitudes, intentions, and behavioral constructs of PRATAM showed significant goodness-of-fit indices and coefficient of determination after analyzing the data in both surveys. However, the results indicated several exceptions on PRATAM's constructs and causal relationships. First, the path coefficient between perceived resources to behavioral intention to use in both pre-test and post-test were insignificant. Second, the path coefficient between behavioral intention to use and actual system use in pre-test was insignificant. Third, the path coefficient between perceived resources and perceived usefulness in post-test were insignificant. In addition, the research also suggested an additional link between perceived ease of use and behavioral intention to use at the pre-test data. Overall, this research validated the influences of PRATAM's constructs factors to students' acceptance behaviors toward WebCT. Cloud computing can be used as a way to access services and resources for many organizations; however, hackers have created security concerns for users that incorporate cloud computing in their everyday functions. The purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies used by cloud security managers to implement secure access methods to protect data on the cloud infrastructure. The population for this study was cloud security managers employed by 2 medium size businesses in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area and that have strategies to implement secure access methods to protect data on the cloud infrastructure. The technology acceptance model was used as the conceptual framework for the study. Data were collected from semi-structured interviews of 7 security managers and review of 21 archived documents that reflected security strategies from past security issues that occurred. Data analysis was performed using methodological triangulation and resulted in the identification of three major themes: implementing security policies, implementing strong authentication methods, and implementing strong access control methods. The findings from this research may contribute to positive social by decreasing customers' concerns regarding personal information that is stored on the cloud being compromised.

Business Intelligence (BI) has become an essential part of the modern enterprise, and what used to be thought of as a luxury is now a matter of survival. Recent economic developments have forced companies to rethink their IT investment strategy. BI investments are now targeting the majority of people in the organisation instead of a select few. Thus, it is important to understand why users of a BI system choose to accept and use the system. Previous research has established the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as one of the most powerful and parsimonious models explaining user acceptance and usage behaviour of information technologies. This quantitative study replicates the original TAM study with the purpose to increase the understanding of BI usage, and investigates the behaviour of the users of the BI system QlikView in the case company GE Healthcare. The results showed a lower explanatory power for the model when compared to previous research. This indicates that how useful a user perceives a BI system to be does not affect the amount of usage to the same extent as predicted by TAM. Possible causes for this are discussed, with an emphasis on the influence of what tasks a user is confronted with and the measurement of system use.

Purpose: Low citizen adoption rates jeopardize the success and proliferation of e-government systems. This study aims to understand how the perception of environmental sustainability (ES) can influence a citizen’s intention to use e-government systems. Design/methodology/approach: In a case study in Peru, the technology acceptance model (TAM) adoption model is extended with the construct of ES and evaluated with structural equation modeling. An 18-element, in-person survey was constructed and administered to citizens of Lima, Peru who had prior exposure to e-government systems. Findings: The results show that citizens can be positively influenced to adopt e-government systems if they perceive that doing so will contribute to ES. Research limitations/implications: As this was a preliminary study, further research should focus on specific, as opposed to general, e-government systems, as well as encompassing a broader cross section of the population. Practical implications: Administrators of e-government initiatives can consider public-interest factors, alongside of the common self-interest factors, when looking to improve adoption rates of e-government systems. Originality/value: This is the first time that TAM has been extended with the construct of ES.

Mobile payments is a topic that is gaining increased attention in both research and in the media. Trends have been identified that show an increase in the use of both smartphones and mobile applications. At the same time there has been a decrease in cash use, with a move towards alternative cashless means of payment in Sweden. Existing research has focused on this type of trend research and also looking at mobile payments in a general sense. There is a gap in the research where the acceptance of mobile payment applications are receiving very little to no attention. The purpose of this thesis is then to identify the determinants of the acceptance of mobile payment applications. Using existing Technology Acceptance Model research on mobile payments, 13 hypotheses were proposed that all related to various factors of acceptance of mobile payment applications. A questionnaire was constructed to test these hypotheses and distributed using convenience sampling. The hypotheses and questionnaire was used to construct a conceptual model in AMOS, where we subsequently used multiple regression analysis to analyze the gathered data. This resulted in 6 hypotheses being accepted and 7 hypotheses being rejected. The factors that was shown to have a significant effect on the acceptance of mobile payment applications, ranging from largest effect to the least are: attitude towards using mobile payment applications, perceived usefulness of mobile payment applications, the subjective norm of the individual, perceived ease of use of the mobile payment application, perceived credibility of the mobile payment application and perceived compatibility of the mobile payment application.

Unter der Einbeziehung des Technology-Acceptance-Models (TAM) und dem Uses-and-Gratification Ansatzes werden Nutzungsmotive aus dem Forschungsstand herausgearbeitet und empirisch getestet (Studierende der TU Dresden, n=1242). Studierende nutzen demnach Anwendungen für das Studium, die sie auch schon im alltäglichen Leben verwenden. Besonders im Bereich der Zusammenarbeit sowie zur Kontaktaufnahme zu Kommilitonen werden Anwendungen aus der Freizeit genutzt. Unverzichtbar für das Studium ist für die meisten Studierenden die Nutzung des Lernmanagementsystems, welche zumeist von Dozenten vorgeschrieben ist. Nur so ist es den Studierenden möglich, auf bestimmte Lerninhalte, die für das Bestehen des Studiums notwendig sind, zuzugreifen. Die Arbeit leistet einen Beitrag zur Beforschung des Mediennutzungsverhalten von Studierenden. Die Ergebnisse können wiederum für die Strategieentwicklung im Bereich des Einsatzes von Lehr- und Lerntechnologien in der Hochschule nützlich sein.

The purpose of this study was to determine if the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) could explain the relationship between teacher's acceptance of an online teacher professional development course and their continuance intentions regarding online teacher professional development (oTPD). This study focused on the perceptions of the teachers as opposed to the design or implementation of oTPD. The participants (N=517) were mostly teachers (88.8%) enrolled in a statewide online course to provide classroom teachers with the latest knowledge of research-based instructional reading strategies. The course was offered over a 10-14 week period during the Spring 2006 semester through a public state university. Structural equation modeling was used to create a path analytic model extending the TAM to include two additional constructs: sociability and social presence. In addition, gains in instructional reading strategies knowledge (performance) were examined. Using this expanded version of the TAM, the study examined the causal relationships between sociability, social presence, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, continuance intention, and gains. Online distance education research has indicated that social presence can influence post-secondary students' attitude and persistence within a web-based course. However a paucity of research exists on how technology acceptance and social presence impacts teachers within an online teacher professional development setting. Path analysis, univariate analysis of variance, and independent t-tests in SPSS v12.0 for Windows were used to analyze the data. The results suggest that the hypothesized extended model was a good fit. Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology allows for the scanning of RFID-tagged objects and individuals without line-of-sight requirements. Healthcare organizations use RFID to ensure the health and safety of patients and medical personnel and to uncover inefficiencies in operations. The successful implementation of a system incorporating RFID technologies requires acceptance and use of the technology. Nurses are a group of employees who must use RFID in hospitals throughout the United States. However, due to their being tracked by RFID technology, some of these nurses feel like "big brother" is watching them.
This predictive study used a theoretical model that assessed the effect of five independent variables, namely, privacy concerns, attitudes, subjective norms, controllability, and self-efficacy, on a dependent variable, nurses' behavioral intention to use RFID. A total of 106 U.S. registered nurses answered a Web-based questionnaire containing previously validated and adapted questions that were answered through a five-point Likert scale. Two statistical methods, linear regression and multiple linear regression, were used to investigate the survey results. The results of the linear regression analysis showed that privacy concerns, attitudes, subjective norms, and self-efficacy were each a significant predictor of nurses' behavioral intention to use RFID. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis showed that all the constructs together accounted for 60% of the variance in nurses' intention to use RFID. Of the five predictors in the model, attitudes provided the largest unique contribution when the other predictors in the model were held constant. Subject norms also provided a unique contribution. The other predictors in the model (privacy concerns, controllability, and self-efficacy) were not statistically significant and did not provide a significant unique contribution to nurses' behavioral intention to use RFID.
The outcomes of this study constitute a significant original contribution to the body of knowledge in the area of information systems by enhancing understanding of the factors affecting RFID acceptance among nurses. The results of this research also provide hospitals and medical centers that require their nurses to use RFID technology with information that they can use to address barriers to their nurses' acceptance and use of RFID technology.

This study examines inexperienced users’ perceptions of therelationships between aspects of user acceptance in professionalmeetings, based on usability tests performed in a VR application.The study is supported by specific parts of a Design scienceresearch methodology. As a starting point in the study of useracceptance, a specifically developed version of the TechnologyAcceptance Model (TAM) is used. This TAM-tool focuses on useracceptance in relation to the two basic aspects, perceivedusefulness and perceived ease of use and these, in which relationsare also explored relative to perceived enjoyment, perceivedpresence and perceived cybersickness. In the study, three testrounds were performed with a total of six participants with minorexperience of VR. The participants conducted usability tests ofprofessional meetings in pairs, in a pre-alpha version of meetingcontexts in Freeland VR based on explicit scenarios. The testsessions were videotaped, and selected clips were used to triggerthe participants’ reflections in the interviews conducted inimmediate connection with the test sessions. The main empiricaldata is thus audio recordings of the interviews. A qualitativeanalysis was then made of the respondents’ reflections on thedifferent aspects of user acceptance that were analyzed in relationto each other to understand how they affect each other in differentways. The results showed that the participants perceived that useracceptance of the professional meetings in Freeland VR was clearlyrelated to the fact that they saw the potential for usefulness inprofessional meeting settings. The lack of ease of use in some of thescenarios and cybersickness were also perceived as somewhatnegatively related to user acceptance, although not explicitly sincethe participants themselves perceived them as transitional anddisappearing with more habit. The result clearly suggested that thepositive aspects in relation to user acceptance were both theevidently perceived presence and enjoyment. The overallconclusion is that the relationships between aspects that are mostclearly perceived as important for user acceptance were therelationships between the overall aspect, perceived usability andthe two underlying aspects perceived enjoyment and perceivedpresence.<br>I denna studie undersöks ovana användares uppfattningar avrelationer mellan aspekter av användaracceptans i ettprofessionellt möte, utifrån användbarhetstester i en VRapplikation med efterföljande intervjuer, med stöd av en del av endesignvetenskaplig metod. In retail, the explosion of data sources and data has provided incentive to invest in information systems (IS), which enable leaders to understand the market and make timely decisions to improve performance. Given that users’ perceptions of IS affects their use of IS, understanding the factors influencing user acceptance is critical to acquiring an effective business intelligence system (BIS) for an organization. Grounded in the technology acceptance model theory, the purpose of this correlational study was to examine the relationship between perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and user acceptance of business intelligence systems (BIS) in retail organizations. A 9-question survey was used to collect data from end-users of BIS in strategic managerial positions from retail organizations in the eastern United States who reported using BIS within the past 5 years. A total of 106 complete survey responses were collected and analyzed using multiple linear regression and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The results of the multiple linear regression indicated the model’s ability to predict user acceptance, F(2,103) = 21.903, p < .000, R2 = 0.298. In addition, PU was a statistically significant predictor of user acceptance (t = -3.947, p = .000), which decreased with time as shown by the results from Pearson’s product-moment correlation, r = -.540, n = 106, p < .01. The implications of this study for positive social change include the potential for business leaders to leverage BIS in addressing the underlying causes of social and economic challenges in the communities they serve.

by academics in a nursing school in the Western Cape, South Africa (determination
of educational technology use, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and
influencing factors). The findings of the study may be used to facilitate planning for
and implementation of increase use of educational technologies to enhance teaching
and learning.
METHODS:
The research design was a quantitative descriptive survey using a self-administered
questionnaire. Due to small population size, all 58 academics (28 lecturers- qualified
personnel to teach students conduct research and involved in administration of
modules and levels) and 30 clinical facilitators- registered nurses with clinical
expertise who assists students in the clinical placements were included in the study.
The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) provided the framework for the study. The
study adapted an existing questionnaire developed by Kripanont in 2007. Validity
and reliability of the instrument were established and pre-testing was done to
validate the questions. Data was entered into SPSS version 23 and analysed using
both descriptive and inferential statistics techniques.
RESULTS:
The findings suggested that though academics use educational technology but
usage was found to be low and the academics were selective in the type of
technology that they use which is influenced by need, availability, duties and
academic positions of such academic. This will help facilitating planning for
implementation of increased use of educational technology to enhance teaching and
learning.
Lecturers use educational technology for teaching and learning, while its use among
the clinical facilitators is still minimal. The most commonly and frequently used
devices were desktops and laptops. Low usage of smartphones for educational
purpose among academics was reported. Email was the most common application
used by academics for teaching and learning, followed by WhatsApp. The e-learning
platform was poorly used; however, the lecturers still used it more compared with the
clinical facilitators. Low usage was reported on other educational technologies
included in the study. Most of the respondents reported a moderate to high
experience with educational technology. More than two-thirds of the respondents
used educational technology for enhancing their knowledge on current evidence of
nursing, preparing for classes, preparing teaching materials, student contact and
supervision and for facilitating/teaching in class. Time and institutional factors were
mentioned to be important factors to consider when engaging with any educational
technology. Finally, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and academic
position were predictors of use of educational technology.

För att identifiera vilka faktorer som bidrar till acceptans hos användarna så har Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) utvecklats, vilken kartlägger dessa faktorer. Denna uppsats undersöker hur en faktor i TAM, subjektiv norm, påverkar användarens attityd mot användning. Subjektiv norm identifieras ofta som någonting det finns en stark allmän uppfattning om. I innevarande uppsats konkretiseras subjektiv norm som en vilja att agera miljövänligt, till följd av de miljöproblem som uppmärksammats allt mer på senare tid. Uppsatsen tillämpar en kvalitativ metod i form av en enkätundersökning med kompletterande intervjuer. Resultaten indikerar att subjektiv norm påverkar acceptansen positivt hos de individer som har en stark emotionell koppling till den subjektiva normen. Vidare så identifierades även ett antal hinder som minskar acceptans. Intraorganisatorisk kommunikation visade sig även vara avgörande för hur användarna uppfattade det nya systemet, och i förlängningen hur de accepterar satsningen.

In the healthcare sector the internet has become one main information resource for health-related issues and with the introduction of mobile devices such as smartphones the mHealth market has evolved. With help of mHealth applications (mHealth apps) patients can actively participate in maintaining their health and take over tasks usually fulfilled by health professionals. Despite the advantages of mHealth apps in practice, the download numbers are decreasing and the academic world has not paid much attention to the end-users point of view. The purpose of this paper is to identify factors influencing end-users in their intention to use mHealth apps. In order to answer this research question a quantitative research design has been chosen. The data is collected with help of an online self-completion questionnaire and statistical analysis with the software SPSS. Time and Perceived Usefulness were two out of five factors that had an influence on the end-users intention to use mHealth apps. A key finding of this study is that the mHealth app market is still in its early stage and end-users lack knowledge about it. This paper contributes to theory as well as to practice by providing new research directions for the academic world and insights for app developers and marketers to adapt their marketing strategies in order to meet the customers’ needs.

The need for online banking technology in the banking industry is important to allow financial institutions to serve their customers worldwide, without having the need to be present in person or face-to-face to benefit from the service. Despite the investment in informational technology and information system infrastructure by Saudi Arabian financial institutions, the Saudi banks have lagged their Western counterparts when it comes to provision of online banking services. Given a relatively recent adoption of online banking in Saudi Arabia, consumer trust in online banking is a critical challenge facing bank managers, warranting further research. The aim of this research is to develop a framework to improve consumer trust toward online banking services and its affect consumer intentions to use the online banking service and e-WOM. The literature included the assessment of relevant theories including social cognitive theory, technology acceptance model and commitment trust theory. These theories formed the basis of formulation of research framework, including development of 12 research hypotheses. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, relationship termination cost, shared value, communication, privacy and demographic factors all have an important role in influencing the extent of trust and the subsequent intention of customers to engage in and use online banking services provided by the financial institutions. When it comes to the literature gap, there remains a relative lack of existence of research on the subject of consumer trust in online banking within Saudi Arabia (Zhou, 2012; Alanezi and Brooks, 2014; AL-Malkawi et al., 2016), which presents a gap in the literature warranting further research. Moreover, most of the prior research on the subject of consumer trust in online banking has concentrated on the information cues such as reputation and information quality (Montazemi and Qahri-Saremi, 2015). This is alongside relatively little attention given to other factors such as perceived usefulness, ease of use, shared value, and privacy/security, which are crucial factors in online banking services (Fatima, 2011; Aloul., 2012; Montazemi and Qahri-Saremi, 2015). Regarding methodology, the positivist research philosophy, deductive approach, survey questionnaire and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques were undertaken. A key rationale for selection of such a methodology is the review of relevant literature, which led to development of research hypotheses that are tested through the survey technique, which is consistent with positivist and deductive research approach. The survey questionnaire request was sent online to 800 research participants (users of online services in Saudi Arabia). Out of these 800, 585 responded (indicating a response rate of an impressive 73%). The response rate was improved through giving regular reminders to the research participants who had not responded to the survey earlier. The findings of this research support the argument that trust in e-bank website play an important role in maintaining long term relationship with customers. Therefore, online banks who deal with their customers in a confidential, transparent and honest manner and ultimately protect the consumers' interests are likely to contribute to greater adoption of online banking by customers in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, it is also concluded that perceived ease of use, trust in online banking website, trust in technology, relationship termination cost, privacy/security, shared value, and communication have positive and significant effect on customer trust in e-bank website, intention to use online banking, and e-WOM.

Introduction: Along with the swift spread of 3G and wireless network, wireless technologies are applied in many areas, especially in education. The advent of mobile learning overcomes several limitations and barriers of traditional classroom education. As for higher education in China, mobile learning is in its infancy stage. Understanding end-users’ acceptance of mobile learning is crucial, because new technological advances cannot enhance performance if they are not accepted by end-users. This study focuses on three top Chinese universities and answers the following research questions: How do students perceive mobile devices as a learning tool incorporated in class and what are their attitudes towards mobile learning? What are the motivational factors that affect students’ acceptance of mobile learning? Purpose: The purpose of this study is to test the proposed Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in explaining students’ acceptance in three top Chinese universities. The goal of this work is to enhance the understanding of user acceptance of incorporating learning into mobile device inside and outside classes. Method: A deductive, theory-testing approach was used in this study. Eleven hypotheses were built based on a literature review and on the proposed TAM model, and were tested using primary data and literature review. Primary data was gathered via semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The data collected through the questionnaire was analysed by Structural Equation Modeling. Conclusion: Through testing the proposed model, the authors found that students are positive towards mobile learning but they do not have a strong willingness to adopt it. The proposed TAM model can improve the understanding of students’ motivation by suggesting what factors are the most important in enhancing students acceptance of mobile learning.

The tablet is a new IT-tool which have started to get introduced into school, but research is still missing and especially in the pre-school environment. The purpose with this study is to investigate teachers uptake, how they use the tablet in everyday pedagogy work as well as the organizational conditions that that facilitate and hinders. Through my observations and interviews in a Swedish K-5 school I have found that the teachers find tablets more appealing to use in comparison to computers. These findings are partly supported by Davis et al.’s (1989) TAM-theory who considers there to be three types of aspects that affect the way individuals adapt to technology. Firstly the teachers’ motivation increased when they saw the usefulness in the tablet in both educational and administrative possibilities. Secondly, the tablet is perceived as an ease of use-artifact which in it self gives the teachers incentive for usage. Thirdly, the infrastructure problem that exists around computers creates an escape to the more appealing tablets.

The main purpose of the study was to analyze whether age, gender and integrity affect the acceptance of self-driving cars. The theoretical framework TAM (Technology AcceptanceModel) is used as a starting point for acceptance where we set our variables against Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use that are the main variables in the model. A quantitative method has been applied and a survey was used for data collection. The survey was sent to 140 students. The response rate was 82 % involving a total of 116 respondents, of which 60 were women and 53 were men, where age ranged between 18-60 years old. The results of a T-test showed that there was a correlation between gender and acceptance of self-driving cars. The remaining variables could not be linked to acceptance in our study. The conclusion that we could make from this study was that there was a correlation between gender and acceptance of self-driving cars based on the cognitive mindset that is separated between the sexes.<br>Det huvudsakliga syftet med studien var att analysera ifall ålder, kön och integritet påverkar acceptans av självkörande bilar. Det teoretiska ramverket TAM (Technology AcceptanceModel) används som utgångspunkt för acceptans där vi ställde våra variabler gentemot den Uppfattade Användbarheten och den Uppfattade Användarvänligheten som är huvudvariableri modellen. En kvantitativ metod har använts och där ett frågeformulär skickades till 140 studenter. Svarsfrekvensen låg på 82% där totalt 116 respondenter, varav 60 kvinnor och 53 män i åldrarna mellan 18–60. Resultatet från ett T-test visade att det fanns samband mellan kön och acceptans av självkörande bilar. Resterande variabler kunde inte kopplas till acceptans i studien. Slutsatsen vi kunde dra utifrån denna studie var att det fanns ett samband mellan kön och acceptans av självkörande bilar, baserat på det kognitiva tankesättet som skiljs åt mellan könen.

Southern U.S. teachers at suburban high schools can use Edmodo; however, teachers prefer traditional teacher-centered teaching methods. This quantitative correlative study explored teachers' technology acceptance in relation to teaching styles and experiences. Framing acceptance by Davis's technology acceptance model (TAM), research questions addressed the direct and moderating relationships between teaching style and the TAM variables related to using Edmodo and the direct and moderating relationships between teaching experiences and TAM variables. From 240 teachers at the high school, 45 completed an online survey (response rate of 18.75%). Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and regression analyzed data. TAM could be verified for the entire sample; however, no significant direct relationship between teaching style and the TAM variables was found. Teaching style moderated the relationships within the TAM; these were stronger for teachers with a teacher-centered teaching style. No significant direct relationship existed between teaching experiences and TAM variables; a moderating effect on the relationships existed within the TAM. Among experienced teachers, ease of use was the strongest acceptance predictor, whereas perceived use was the strongest predictor among less experienced teachers. Results indicated teachers might develop a more student-centered teaching style, thus concentrating on technology's ease of use, rather than its potential utility. A policy recommendation could ensure teachers efficiently used technology to support student-centered learning. The application of the recommended policies might lead to teachers' more effective use of instructional technology, which might affect student learning and motivation.

This study examined the perceived importance of availability of ICT-based features and technical support on meeting plannersâ recommendation/selection of a conference center. In addition, this study attempted to explain relationships between meeting plannersâ beliefs (perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) toward ICT-based features and other factors: personal innovativeness of ICT (PIICT); perceived importance of the availability of technical support; self efficacy; and result demonstrability.
A conceptually integrated and expanded model of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed by Davis (1986, 1989) was used as a theoretical frame. The subjects of the study were meeting planners who used the selected two conference centers for their meetings or were considering them for their future meetings. A total of 167 usable responses were gathered and the proposed model was empirically examined using the data collected.
The results of the model test revealed that the expanded TAM with the integration of key factors provided a systematic view of the meeting plannersâ beliefs in selection/recommendation of a conference center with ICT-based features. In addition, factor analysis of the fifteen ICT-based features revealed three underlying dimensions based on meeting plannersâ perceived importance of the availability of each feature for a conference center selection: 1) high-speed wireless Internet; 2) network backbone; and 3) ICT-based service outlet. Specifically, high-speed wireless Internet was the most important ICT-based determinant of a conference center selection/recommendation to all types of meeting planners.
Due to the exploratory nature of this study, the results provided limited facets of the impact of ICT-based feature and technical support on meeting facility selection/recommendation. Nevertheless, this study is the first research effort of its kind to investigate what type of ICT-based feature and technical support impact conference center selection/recommendation by different types of meeting planners the most. The results revealed that corporate meeting planners consider wireless Internet and a fast network more important in selection than other types of meeting planners do. The availability of ICT-based features was less important to association meeting planners when they make a conference center selection. This study also identified that there is a serious lack of knowledge in terms related to network backbones across all types of meeting planners. Technical support, especially on-site technical support, was perceived as very important to all types of meeting planners.
This study also identified that meeting planners with high PIICT possess stronger confidence in using and visualizing the advantages of ICT-based features. Thus conference centers should make efforts to measure meeting plannersâ PIICT and use the score effectively for their marketing of ICT-based features. The study also identified result demonstrabilityâ the visualizing of positive outcomes of using ICT-based featuresâ as very important to meeting planners. PIICT and result demonstrability were positively related to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness which were identified as key antecedents of actual acceptance/usage of technology in previous studies. The results of the current study present an important step toward providing practical as well as theoretical implications for future technology impact studies in the context of meeting facility selection.<br>Ph. In order to understand the consumers' behavioral intention about adopting the innovation and environmental product electronic luggage tags by Rimowa in 2016. This study takes the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as basis and combines two additional constructs: personal innovativeness, perceived risk for using electronic luggage tags（perceived risk as an interference variable. A total of 430 questionnaires were delivered on the Internet by convenient sampling and 386 valid questionnaires were collected. This research uses the method of regression analysis to develop a research model. The result suggested that personal innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use，attitude were significantly impacted individual’s attitude toward adoption while perceived risk was in moderate relationships to attitude toward adoption.

As of today, Blockchain is an innovative distributed ledger technology enabling the exchange
of value online without the need of intermediaries such as banks or players of the shared
economy. The technology provides a decentralized and trustless network, secured by
cryptography and consensus mechanisms.
The study attempted to assess the current ‘Level of Knowledge’ about the up-and-coming
Blockchain technology throughout society, which is considered to be fundamental in order to
unfold full socio-economic potential. Based on a modified version of the Technology
Acceptance Model (TAM) by Davis (1989) the study sought to define relationships between
self-reported variables such as ‘Perceived Ease of Use’, ‘Perceived Usefulness’ and
‘Perceived Risk’, ultimately predicting the ‘Intention to Use’ of Blockchain. An online
questionnaire was designed and shared across a convenience sample population, comprised by
young students and professionals.
The results reveal that about two thirds of the sample population is non-aware of the topic at
hand. The findings affirm overall significance and appropriateness of the tested constructs
within the conceptual framework. A system will be accepted, if it is perceived as trustworthy,
convenient and useful. ‘Perceived Risk’ was the most significant determinant in predicting
intended use. Regression analysis revealed significant relationships among all the variables
used.
Managerial as well as academic implications about the outcomes of this study have been
formulated.
It should be noted, that due to the nature of TAM and the convenience sample, general
conclusions about society’s perception are limited.<br>Atualmente o Blockchain, ou “protocolo de segurança” é uma tecnologia inovadora que
garante a partilha de valor online sem intermédio de terceiros. Por outras palavras, a
tecnologia garante uma rede descentralizada e segura, assegurada pela criptografia e outros
mecanismos consensuais, criando uma alternativa à confiança em bancos e outros players que
atuem sob a economia partilhada.
O estudo em causa tenta avaliar o atual “Nível de Conhecimento” na sociedade relativamente
à tecnologia, considerado como um ponto fundamental para revelar todo o seu potencial
socioeconómico. O mesmo, é baseado numa versão modificada do modelo Technology
Acceptance Model (TAM), proposto por Davis (1989), que procura definir relações entre
variáveis previamente definidas como: ‘Facilidade de Utilização Percebida’, ‘Utilidade
Percebida’ e ‘Risco Percebido’ que preveem a intenção de uso do Blockchain. Isto é, afirmarse-
á que um sistema é aceite caso seja visto como seguro, conveniente e útil.
Um questionário relativo ao tópico foi partilhado entre uma amostra por conveniência,
composta por jovens estudantes e profissionais. Os resultados revelam que cerca de dois
terços dos indivíduos que compõem a amostra não estão cientes do tópico em causa.
Identificou-se que a variável ‘Risco Percebido’ é aquela que significativamente melhor
determina a intenção de uso, sendo que, a análise de regressão revelou relações significativas
entre todas as variáveis utilizadas.
Implicações académicas e de gestão foram formuladas após a análise dos resultados. Contudo,
devido à natureza da TAM e à amostra por conveniência as conclusões gerais sobre a
percepção da sociedade relativamente ao Blockchain são limitadas.

Gradually, there is a new trend in the selection of payments, mobile payments, for customers because of the behavioral change in technological devices. The purpose of this study is to understand the attitude in the acceptance of mobile payments, such as Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, among smart phone owners. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is applied to discover the Attitude towards Using among customers, and this study is especially emphasized on two potential influences in External Variables and Perceived Risks to find out those direct and indirect influences upon customers’ attitudes.
The theoretical framework was tested through a survey involving 108 participants by using the Structure Equation Models (SEM). The results showed that (1) Ease of Use and Usefulness were directly and indirectly affected respectively by External Variables, depending on the development of those exterior interference; (2) Ease of Use, Usefulness and Attitude towards Using were affected with each other; (3) there was a significant influence for Perceived Risks among Attitude towards Using and Ease of use, and the higher or lower degrees of Perceived Risks caused difference levels of negative influences, resulting the users’ Attitude towards Using.

symptoms and complications of respiratory diseases through an interdisciplinary
approach. Providing PR services to the increasing number of patients with chronic
respiratory diseases challenges the current health care systems because of the shortages in
health care practitioners and PR programs. Using telerehabilitation may improve patients’
participation and compliance with PR programs. The purpose of this study was to
examine the applicability of the technology acceptance model (TAM) to explain
telerehabilitation acceptance and to determine the demographic variables that can
influence acceptance.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey-based design was utilized in the data
collection. The survey scales were based on the TAM. The first group of participants
consisted of health care practitioners working in PR programs. The second group of
participants included patients attending traditional PR programs. The data collection
process started in January 2017 and lasted until May 2017.
Results: A total of 222 health care practitioners and 134 patients completed the
survey. The results showed that 79% of the health care practitioners and 61.2% of the
patients reported positive intention to use telerehabilitation. Regression analyses showed
that the TAM was good at predicting telerehabilitation acceptance. Perceived usefulness was a significant predictor of the positive intentions to use telerehabilitation for health
care providers (OR: 17.81, p < .01) and for the patients (OR: 6.46, p = .04). The logistic
regression outcomes showed that age, experience in rehabilitation, and type of PR
increased the power of the TAM to predict the intention to use telerehabilitation among
health care practitioners. Age, duration of the disease, and distance from the PR center
increased the power of the TAM to predict the intention to use telerehabilitation among
patients.
Conclusion: This is the first study to develop and validate a psychometric
instrument to measure telerehabilitation acceptance among health care practitioners and
patients in PR programs. The outcomes of this study will help in understanding the
telerehabilitation acceptance. It will help not only to predict future adoption but also to
develop appropriate solutions to address the barriers of using telerehabilitation.

As more and more financial institutions are striving for providing efficient and effective services for their clients without visiting to the physical banking stores, possible intentions and determinants must be considered by both managers in the bank and the potential users. This study base on technology acceptance model (TAM) with four external variables: self-efficacy, familiarity of task, system quality and alliance service. While the study also considers the possible factor: perceived risk that hinders users from using Internet banking was proposed to be a negative factor toward the intention to use Internet banking.
With more than 218 responses from intended users to use Internet banking service and 95% of response rate, the study found that the proposed external variables have significant influence on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, which, in turn, were found to be important factors for developing the positive attitude toward the adoption of Internet banking. At the end of the research, theoretical implications and managerial implications were also discussed.

Family mart has overcome the problem through developing of mobile phone APP program for consumers to download and collocation reward points via mobile phone devices. This research, through a 4 dimensions market research by studying the technology consumption behaviors from both the vendors and consumers' perspectives, together with the analysis of policy implementation feasibility, has has proven the effectiveness of Family Mart's solution.
This research collects relevant information by the way of in-depth interview with managers of convenient stores and consumers. The research result shows that most of consumers are willing to collect virtual points instead of sticker points. Very few elders give up using virtual points because they are not familiar with operating point collecting program, but they are happy to accept alternative virtual point collecting method-scanning paper bar code. With coming of paperless era, there are more and more APP programs developed to apply in daily life, and combined with multi-functional pages can attract consumers to download for using. Such a trend can be used as a reference for other industries.

Due to the rise of information technology (IT), information technology can dismiss the limitations of time and space, and the advancement of information technology overwrote the development of human economic history; the influences are escalated continual. If the trading and logistics industries want to launce the development of e-trading and e-commerce, undoubtedly they must use information technology. The handle of information technology has already been one of the critical factors to promote the competitiveness among the industry. Furthermore, with the prevailing trend of development in free trade environment and simplification in trading procedures, the use of information technology in e-trading will enhance our overall trade competitiveness and enable us to be a crucial global logistic center.
This research combines four dimensions of factors from the research of “Environment”, “Organization”, “Competitive Strategy”, and “Property of system supply” and use Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a basis theory to construct the research model and research hypothesis. We take trading and logistics industries in Taipei as sampling frame of potential respondents, and mail questionnaires to them to precede research as empirical study in order to probe the critical success factors (CSFs) of the use of information technology in e-trading among trading and logistics industry, and the relations between factors. The results of this research can be the guide for the relevant trading industries in the introducing of new information technology in the future.
In this research, we found that there are some critical success factors of the trading and logistics industries with the use of information technology:
1. The factors, ”environment uncertainty and transition”, “competitive pressure”, “IT infrastructure”, “organization properties”, “differentiation”, and “IT provider reputation and support” are positively correlated to “perceived usefulness”.

Bitcoin stands as the most profitable and demanded cryptocurrency, representing an alternative to the trust-based currencies all over the world; obtaining more investors day by day.
This research tries to explore and explain the process that motivates the purchase intention of Bitcoin using the Technological Acceptance Model (TAM), learning about its background and technological features, analyzing the factors that make attractive this cryptocurrency to potential investors. The TAM model provide us further reliable and consistent factors to be analyzed in this research.
In order to explore the factors mentioned above, a quantitative questionnaire is developed, aiming to get answers from a selected target population. From the literature review, the construct measurements considered are Trust and Risk as External Factors, Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness as Consumer Motivation, and Purchase Intention as Consumer Behavior.
Each one of the previous factors are going to be analyzed using statistical methods such as Descriptive Statistics, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, and Mediation Analysis. The results are going to be explained, providing validation to the hypotheses formulated in this research.
From the sample population, it has been found the significant effects of Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness of Bitcoin on its Purchase Intention, nonetheless Risk and Trust don’t have significant impact on Purchase Intention.
