Idiopathic short stature is short stature for which all possible causes have been ruled out. The issue of diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic stunting is the subject of ongoing controversy. Recently, in connection with the expansion of indications for treatment with growth hormones that are not accompanied by growth hormone deficiency, the question arose of its use in the treatment of idiopathic short stature. To date, the world has collected data on the efficacy and safety of growth hormone treatment of children with idiopathic short stature. Much information is now available on the efficac

AbstractUsing a vertically differentiated product model, the paper aims to investigate the effects of economic growth on market provision of product quality. The quality attribute considered is the environmental friendliness of products. Economic growth is modeled as a shift in income distribution. It shows that the effect of economic growth depends on the form it takes. A growth in income that is uniform across consumers improves the cleanup levels adopted by both firms. However, a growth in income that is accompanied by changes in income inequality may result in the lowering of one of the tw

The article addresses the theoretical and empirical relation between fiscal decentralization and economic growth. An empirical analysis of Russian regions for 2005–2012 shows that excessive expenditure decentralization within the region, which is not accompanied by the respective level of revenue decentralization, is significantly and negatively related to regional economic growth. In contrast, regional dependence on intergovernmental fiscal transfers from the federal center is positively associated with economic growth.

Abstract APEX2/APE2 is a secondary mammalian apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease that associates with proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), and the progression of S phase of the cell cycle is accompanied by its expression. To determine the biologic significance of APEX2, we established APEX2-null mice. These mice were about 80% the size of their wild-type littermates and exhibited a moderate dyshematopoiesis and a relatively severe defect in lymphopoiesis. High (pharmacological) doses of glucocorticoids inhibit the proliferation of growth plate chondrocytes, which leads to one of the side-effects of these steroids, namely suppression of longitudinal growth. Growth inhibition by glucocorticoids is thought to be mediated in part by impaired action of components of the IGF axis, which are important for chondrocyte regulation and hence for longitudinal growth. The aim of the present study was to determine whether glucocorticoid-induced growth retardation involves changes in IGF axis components. Chondrocytes were isolated from epiphyseal growth plate

4-Aminobutyric acid (GABA), a ubiquitous four-carbon nonprotein, amino acid, is synthesized via glutamate decarboxylation. It accumulates in response to mechanical stimulation through the Ca2+/calmodulin activation of glutamate decarboxylase. Abstract:
The development and spend of the tumor process is accompanied by changes in non-linear (chaotic) dynamics of mechanochemical interaction process in the group of cells. Taking into consideration spatial irregularity and heterogeneity of internal structures of tumor cells, we suggested that treatment by mechanically deformed (MD) syngeneic tumor cells (STC) would be accompanied by changed influence on malignant growth. The objective of this work was to compare spatial, mechanoemission (ME) chaos of MD STC of carcinoma Lewis and melanoma B16 and their malignant growth. MD STC preparation included

Abstract:
We previously showed that endothelial cells (EC) from the vasculature of human solid tumors have a decreased expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and ICAM-2 as compared with normal tissue EC. This effect is explained by EC exposure to angiogenic factors. It is known that upregulation of endothelial adhesion molecules (EAM) is a sign of EC activation in inflammatory responses. We therefore tested the effect of angiogenic factors on upregulation of EAM on tumor EC and human umbilical vein EC (HUVEC) by proinflammatory cytokines. Incubation of tumor-derived EC in tumor necrosi
