The results from such acoustic analyses have generally supported the correctness of the phonological analyses. The purpose of this report is to present seemingly conflicting results from a generative phonological analysis and an acoustic analysis of one misarticulating child who omitted word-final obstruents. The apparent conflict is resolved in terms of two possible explanations with differing treatment implications.
