Abstract This article defends Marjorie Suchocki’s position against two main objections raised by David E. Conner. Conner objects that God as a single actual entity (affirmed by Suchocki) must be temporal because there is succession in God’s experience of the world. The reply is that time involves at least two successive occasions separated by perishing, but in God nothing ever perishes. Conner also objects that Suchocki’s personalistic process the-ism is not experiential but is instead theoretical (based on what Whitehead says in Part V of PR) and not definitive. The reply is that his dismissa

But why is 'a new link' necessary It is necessary because Aristotle and his followers already established a link 'an old link' by making metaphysics the foundation of all the sciences. Yet, Ar

In the process of business valuation, taking into account the risks of financial and economic activities necessary to obtain information on what stage the owner implements the business will receive income. The most difficult task is the impossibility of accurate prediction in determining the level of income and the determination of a discount rate capitalization of future incomes due to the instability of the economy, both in the country and around the world.

This article argues that insofar as we see something as morally significant or valuable, we tend to think it wrong to deliberately terminate its actual existence and to deliberately prevent a corresponding potential entity from becoming actual

It then interprets these ideas by correlating them with key ideas of Whitehead, such as actual entity, actual occasion, living person, historic route, the four phases of the actual entity, initial aim, and subjective aim. Our econometric analysis suggests that there are differences in leading to the determination of the entry and exit at different stages of the entry-exit decision, and that aggregate growth and disaggregate growth (measured in employment terms) play a major role. The process of individuation has an end. The passage from disjunctive diversity to the unity of a new entity embodied by the subject has a conclusion, namely, the effective realisation of the entity, its full actualisation. This end point of individuation is reached following the determination of every positive and negative prehension of the entity, that is, when all of its relations with other entities have been established. It is, then, fully a perspective, a being-situated in the universe, a junction between and a unity of everything that exists. It attains, in its final state of concrescen

Bearing in mind Whitehead’s own thoughts on the nature of symbolism, this chapter argues that the figure of the creature has been underappreciated in his work as a symbol. Full text
Abstract:
The project’s general objectives were to determine specific polymorphisms at the DNA level responsible for observed quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and to estimate their effects, frequencies, and selection potential in the Holstein dairy cattle breed. The specific objectives were to (1) localize the causative polymorphisms to small chromosomal segments based on analysis of 52 U.S. Holstein bulls each with at least 100 sons with high-reliability genetic evaluations using the a posteriori granddaughter design; (2) sequence the complete genomes of at least 40 of those bulls to 20 coverage; (3) de

Abstract:
Do quality at entry assessments enhance the delivery of development projects? In this paper we take advantage of approval and execution systems in place at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to examine whether projects that have higher quality at entry--captured through grading scores provided by a checklist--perform better in terms of project implementation performance indicators. Implementation indicators include measures based on actual versus planned schedule of activities and cost outlays, as well as percent of loan disbursed. The analysis suggests higher scores on project logic an

Abstract:
This report summarizes results of a horizontal gas storage well field experiment at the Howell Storage Field in Howell, Ml. A new horizontal well was successfully drilled in the Niagaran formation offsetting a vertical well on the same location. TVD was 3914 ft; Measured depth was 6271ft, including 967 ft in the turn (616-ft radius) and a 2000-ft lateral. The lateral was held within a 10-ft window over the entire 2000-ft length. The horizontal well was drilled on schedule and within budget Minor problems, typical of all drilling operations, were handled without serious impact. The research obj

This publication based on a master thesis explores the challenges of the automotive industry regarding the European chemical regulations REACH and CLP, as well as potential improvements of the current compliance activities and the related incentives and barriers. It answers the research question: "To what extent should the compliance activities of actors in the automotive supply chain be extended in order to meet the requirements of European chemicals regulation; and where would it help to strengthen incentives in enforcement and the legal framework?“. Spaulding, Dylan. Plutonium Pit Production: The Risks and Costs of US Plans to Build New Nuclear Weapons. Union of Concerned Scientists, 2025. https://doi.org/10.47923/2025.15875.

Full text
Abstract:
The United States is planning a $1.7 trillion overhaul of its entire nuclear arsenal, designing new warheads and investing in new bombers, missiles, and submarines to carry them. The new warheads, in turn, are driving demand for new plutonium “pits”—the bomb cores that begin the chain reaction in every US thermonuclear weapon—despite the fact that the United States has thousands of surplus pits in reserve. Producing new pits would not only be expensive, time consuming, and logistically challenging, but is also technically unnecessary and politically destabilizing. It would actually decrease na

The article states that with the development of new journalism, the author’s ability to characterize a phenomenon and identify a trend acquires special value. Representatives of Ukrainian new journalism, which is a relatively new genre, are already gradually implementing these tasks. They compose entire books from their reports, offering the reader a condensed version of versatile observations about a certain country, situation, or phenomenon. In contrast to ordinary reportage, fiction is a synthetic genre, in which it is not reported, but told. The authors of the article research Reporters wh

The article examines the current state of journalism education. The creative training of editorial teams is an essential asset of the university format. It is underlined that the country’s leading universities with highly intellectual professorial and teaching personnel potential and a modern laboratory base prepare journalist personnel. It was indicated that the transformation of modern journalism education lost dynamism due to outline reasons. It is only partially designed for the growing needs of editorial teams, and there is an urgent need for systemic reform of the entire higher education

Conventional arms control and disarmament efforts have historically been framed as a humanitarian cause to limit human suffering. However, activities with an arms control component have only featured to a limited extent within the protection of civilians (POC) mandates of United Nations peace operations. Both issues feature on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council which mandates missions, but the linkages between the two have not been well explored at policy, strategic and operational levels. In this study, we investigated neuroinfectious capacity of H5N1 (A/Thailand/NK165/2005) isolated from plasma of infected individual during the third wave of Thailand outbreaks using human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. This was due to lack of information regarding neuroinfectivity of this variant. Results demonstrated that H5N1/NK165 induced servere CPEs in these neuronal cells. H5N1-specific hemagglutinin was found in the cytoplasm of the infected cells as early as 12 h post-infection. By 24 h post-infection, all cells in the cultures were infected. M. Sergeyev’s article “Ukrainian National Idea in the Modern Ukrainian Media Space” states that modern Ukrainian philosophical thought tries to get rid of the flaws and stereotypes of its one-sided orientation “to the East” and tries to establish a European orientation in the minds of Ukrainian citizens. The theoretical proof of the new worldview took place throughout the formation of the Ukrainian state from Little Russia to Ukraine and presents its actual struggle for independence.
