Adansonia L. (1753) belongs to the family Malvaceae and is commonly known as the baobab tree. This species holds significant cultural and ecological value and is often referred to as the ‘tree of life.’ Although its nuclear genome has been reported, the mitogenome has not yet been studied. Mitogenome research is crucial for understanding the evolution of the entire genome. In this study, we assembled and analyzed the mitogenomes of four Adansonia species by integrating short-read and long-read data.
