Abstract:
Drug-induced liver injury in children (cDILI) accounts for about 1% of all reported adverse drug reactions throughout all age groups, less than 10% of all clinical DILI cases, and around 20% of all acute liver failure cases in children. The overall DILI susceptibility in children has been assumed to be lower than in adults. Nevertheless, controversial evidence is emerging about children’s sensitivity to DILI, with children’s relative susceptibility to DILI appearing to be highly drug-specific. The culprit drugs in cDILI are similar but not identical to DILI in adults (aDILI). This is demonstrated by recent findings that a drug frequently associated with aDILI (amoxicillin/clavulanate) was rarely associated with cDILI and that the drug basiliximab caused only cDILI but not aDILI. The fatality in reported cDILI studies ranged from 4% to 31%. According to the US Food and Drug Administration–approved drugs labels, valproic acid, dactinomycin, and ampicillin appear more likely to cause cDILI. In contrast, deferasirox, isoniazid, dantrolene, and levofloxacin appear more likely to cause aDILI. Animal models have been explored to mimic children’s increased susceptibility to valproic acid hepatotoxicity or decreased susceptibility to acetaminophen or halothane hepatotoxicity. However, for most drugs, animal models are not readily available, and the underlying mechanisms for the differential reactions to DILI between children and adults remain highly hypothetical. Diagnosis tools for cDILI are not yet available. A critical need exists to fill the knowledge gaps in cDILI. This review article provides an overview of cDILI and specific drugs associated with cDILI.

Abstract:
SUMMARYSmall ruminants are an integral part of mixed-farming systems throughout southern Ethiopia. Yet, they have received little research attention or institutional support. Characterizing the existing small ruminant production systems and analysing their production constraints are important tools to diagnose the status and trends of the systems, and thus to identify areas for future interventions. A survey was conducted between April and July 2004 in the Adilo and Kofele areas of the southern mixed-farming systems of Ethiopia to explore reasons for keeping small ruminants and to evaluate the existing status of and the prospects for the small ruminant sector. Additional information was obtained during discussions with key informants who had experience of small ruminant keeping. Small ruminants fill several roles in the study area. However, the principal purpose of keeping sheep and goats was to generate cash income. Sheep milk consumption was widespread around Kofele unlike most agricultural systems in the country. Nearly all respondents in Adilo reported fattening their sheep before sale, while such a practice was uncommon in Kofele. Informal insurance schemes were evolving among the sheep keepers in Adilo, and these can be considered as entry points for future interventions. The common problem identified from both individual interviews and group discussions was feed shortage. The identification of alternative feed resources and strategic feeding management might be options for development. Small ruminant disease was the major constraint in Kofele, where marshy areas are increasingly assigned for grazing in the rainy season as suitable land is more and more used for cropping. The growing demand for meat from small ruminants, the improving transportation infrastructure and the experience of farmers in small ruminant keeping are providing opportunities to enhance the contribution of the sector. A thorough monitoring of the productive and economic performance of small ruminants is required to capture the full picture of their contribution thereby directing possible intervention areas to maximize benefits to the farmers.

Abstract:
The coming and development of Islam in a region could not be separated from the role of ulama (Islamic scholars or preachers), i.e. the local ulama and the Arab-descendant ulama. In Mandar (West Sulawesi) some names of ulama worth mentioning included Syekh Abdurrahim Kamaluddin, Syekh Abdul Mannan, Raden Mas Suryo Adilogo, Syekh Zakaria al Maghribi, etc. Of those ulama, some came from several regions in the Indonesian archipelago, some were Arab descendants, and some even came directly from the Middle east. However, those earliest preachers only left traces of history. Today their genealogical descendants are no longer found. There was their genealogical vacuum until the end of 19th century. This research analyzes the role of the Arab descendants in in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi, by putting forward two questions, namely: 1) How was the picture of the spread of the Arab descendants in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi? And how was the institutional system built by the Arab descendants in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi? To investigate, this research used a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of research showed that the first entry and development of the Arab descendants in Mandar were marked by the coming of the Arab-descendant preacher named Syekh Alwi bin Abdullah bin Sahl (circa 1880s). Until today, the Arab descendants spreading in Mandar have come from his clan, followed by other Arab descendants coming from other clans.

Abstract:
The work presents the results of comparative study of the new fodder crop Premier cultivar of Hungarian clover Trifolium pannonicum Jacq., its seed quality and contamination with fungal infection, given that it is grown in different weather conditions, and harvested and stored by different methods. The research was carried out in two agroclimatic subzones of the forest-steppe zone of Novosibirsk region: moderately warm humid (GTK 1.2-1.4) and moderately warm insuffi ciently humid (GTK 1.0-1.2). In both subzones the mass of 1000 seeds in mid-humid and humid seasons varied from 4.0 to 4.6 g, and in extremely dry season it decreased to 3.7 g. A positive relation (r=0.96) between the seed mass and precipitation in the ripening phase was revealed. The infl uence of weather conditions on the unscarifi ed seed sowing qualities was most evident in the humid subzone, where a positive relation (r=0.83) between germinating ability and precipitation in the fl owering phase was revealed. In dry and insuffi ciently humid seasons, only in this phase hard seeds predominated in the seed material (77-90%) and their germinating ability in the laboratory conditions did not exceed 19%. In the year with excessive humidity, the share of germinating seeds increased to 75%. In the insuffi ciently humid subzone there were 4-6 times more germinating seeds (37- 60%), and the difference in their germinating adility by years was not so signifi cant. Combine harvesting, which causes partial seed scarifi cation, increased germinating ability by 13-20%. When these seeds were stored at room temperature, there was an annual reduction in seed hardness by 23-30% and an increase in barren seeds. Germinating ability of unscarifi ed seeds retained longer by years. Fungal infection in Premier cultivar of Hungarian clover seeds was detected. In the dry year fungi g. Cladosporium predominated, in the wet year – g. Alternaria, in the mid-humid years there were fungi of both genus and their mixtures.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Ethiopian sheep living in different climatic zones and having contrasting morphologies are a most promising subject of molecular-genetic research. Elucidating their genetic diversity and genetic structure is critical for designing appropriate breeding and conservation strategies. Objective The study was aimed to investigate genome-wide genetic diversity and population structure of eight Ethiopian sheep populations. Methods A total of 115 blood samples were collected from four Ethiopian sheep populations that include Washera, Farta and Wollo (short fat-tailed) and Horro (long fat-tailed). DNA was extracted using Quick-DNA™ Miniprep plus kit. All DNA samples were genotyped using Ovine 50 K SNP BeadChip. To infer genetic relationships of Ethiopian sheep at national, continental and global levels, genotype data on four Ethiopian sheep (Adilo, Arsi-Bale, Menz and Black Head Somali) and sheep from east, north, and south Africa, Middle East and Asia were included in the study as reference. Results Mean genetic diversity of Ethiopian sheep populations ranged from 0.352 ± 0.14 for Horro to 0.379 ± 0.14 for Arsi-Bale sheep. Population structure and principal component analyses of the eight Ethiopian indigenous sheep revealed four distinct genetic cluster groups according to their tail phenotype and geographical distribution. The short fat-tailed sheep did not represent one genetic cluster group. Ethiopian fat-rump sheep share a common genetic background with the Kenyan fat-tailed sheep. Conclusion The results of the present study revealed the principal component and population structure follows a clear pattern of tail morphology and phylogeography. There is clear signature of admixture among the study Ethiopian sheep populations

Abstract:
Abstract:

Abstract:
In this work, a series of poly(Hexanediol adipate)(PHA) samples (103<Mn<104) with narrow molecular weight distribution were prepared by the polymerization between adilic acid and 1,6-hexandiol. End-group analysis was applied to determine the number average molecular weight (Mn) of PHA. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) was employed to obtain the average molecular weights (Mn, Mv, Mw).The intrinsic viscosity of the samples in the tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution was determined at 298 K by the dilution extrapolation method and the one-point method. The relationship between the intrinsic viscosity and the molecular weight for PHA was studied by the Mark-Houwink-Sakurada (MHS) equation, and the parameters of equation were determined.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the development of a Black female superhero character in HBO’s Watchmen (2019) series. Inspired by Adilifu Nama’s “critically celebratory perspective” used to discuss Black superheroes, it focuses on how the show bridges the gender gap in representation of Black superheroes by introducing a strong female character in her thirties, how it deals with themes of racial discrimination, and how it offers a portent of racial utopia within the context of US history, culture, and politics. Furthermore, the analysis includes a reference to Alan Moore’s original comic of the same title and argues that through the Afrofuturistic aesthetic, the show transforms the disappointing white male superhero narrative into a potential story of success of the Black female superhero, making Angela a rightful heir to Doctor Manhattan’s superpower and perhaps someone who will be capable of making a change both in terms of a cultural and political change.

Abstract:
ADILI, A., KARTAWINATA, K., SOEDJITO, H. & SAMBAS, E. N. 2018. Tree species diversity in a pristine montane forest previously untouched by human activities in Foja Mountains, Papua, Indonesia. Reinwardtia 17(2): 133‒154. ‒‒ A study on structure and composition of the pristine montane forest previously untouched by human activities was conducted at the Foja Mountains in November 2008. We established a one-hectare plot divided into 100 subplots of 10 m × 10 m each. We enumerated all trees with DBH ≥ 10 cm which diameters were measured, heights were estimated and habitats were noted. We recorded 59 species, 42 genera and 27 families, comprising 693 trees with the total basal area (BA) of 41.35 m2/ha. The forest had lower species richness compared to those of lowland forests in Kalimantan, and Sumatra and montane forests in West Java. The Shannon-Wiener’s diversity index was 3.22. Nothofagus rubra (Importance Value, IV=47.89%) and Parinari corymbosa (IV=40.3%) were the dominant species, constituting the basis for designating the forest as the Nothofagus rubra - Parinari corymbosa association. To date, the dominance of N. rubra is unique to the Foja Mountains, as elsewhere in Papua the montane forests were dominated by N. pullei or other species. The species-area curve indicated a minimal area of 5000 m2. On the family level Fagaceae (IV=53.23%), Chrysobalanaceae (IV=40.53%) and Myristicaceae (IV=26.43%) were dominant. Verti-cally the forest consisted of four strata (A–D). In each stratum Nothofagus rubra, Platea latifolia, Parinari corymbosa and Myristica hollrungii were dominant. The diameter class distribution of Nothofagus rubra, Parinari corymbosa and Platea latifolia led us to assume that these species were regenerating well.

Abstract:
Along with the increase in capture fisheries production, the escalation of biodiversity damage has occurred in the Lampung Province sea area. This condition is one of them caused by destructive fishing activities. Destructive fishing is still a problem in the sea area of Lampung Province due to the lack of community role, especially in terms of supervision. Tackling destructive fishing based on community supervision is one form of community empowerment to play an active role and be directly involved in efforts to tackle damage to fishery resources. Therefore, this article will discuss the problem of how the condition of the case of destructive fishing in Lampung Province? How are efforts to tackle destructive fishing in Lampung Province? And what is the policy model for controlling community based destructive fishing? The results showed that from 2016 to 2019 there were 27 cases of destructive fishing that were tried at the District Court A Class Tanjung Karang. Efforts in overcoming destructive fishing in Lampung Province have so far tended to be a means of punishment or a repressive action with a criminal law approach. But in fact this effort has not been able to solve the problem of destructive fishing. Therefore, this research offers a model of controlling destructive fishing based on community supervision through the means of penal and non-penal means. Keywords: Lampung, destructive fishing, community surveillance Seiring peningkatan produksi perikanan tangkap, eskalasi kerusakan keanekaragaman hayati terjadi di wilayah laut Provinsi Lampung.
