Abstract:
In the present study, the three principal theories of Russian theorist Mikhail Bakhtin--the carnavalesque, grotesque, and dialogical--are applied to the musical-theatre genre of the Spanish zarzuela. The focus of the study centers on the works of composer Pablo Sorozábal and the various librettists who collaborated with him, among them the renowned literary author Pío Baroja. Within this study, zarzuela is first analyzed on its own in terms of the academic debate surrounding the genre and its importance in terms of both literary and musical criticism. After establishing the particular capacity of the zarzuela to make important cultural contributions, the central theoretical framework of the thesis is established via Bakhtinian theory, and several links are drawn between this theory and the genre of the zarzuela, which is shown to be a body of work often capable of conveying subversive messages, both cultural and sociopolitical. With this critical lens, then, the specific sociopolitical context of Spain between 1931-1942 is analyzed and described in order to illustrate the various extratextual and intertextual elements at play in Sorozábal's zarzuelas. The three works ultimately studied are Katiuska (1931), Adiós a la bohemia (1933), and Black, el payaso (1942). By way of highlighting the Bakhtinian characteristics at play in these three zarzuelas, the composer's intention to challenge and criticize Spain's sociopolitical reality, including Francoist dictatorship, is revealed, illustrating the capacity of the zarzuela to challenge and transgress existing norms--an aspect that many critics have failed to recognize in the genre up to the present day.

Creación de empresa funeraria, que brinda servicios de “Funerales Temáticos¨ Este innovador servicio tiene como objetivo resaltar la vida del difunto, con sus pasiones o sus preferencias, por sobre la muerte y a la vez desdramatizar un momento inevitable en la vida. Dicho proyecto brindará opciones al cliente que le permita poder realizar con anticipación su Funeral con los gustos y preferencias a elección. Se identificó el segmento al cual va ser dirigido el servicio, en este caso se seleccionó a personas de 30 a 50 años de edad de los distritos de Callao, Surco Viejo y San Juan de Lurigancho que estén interesados en pagar una cobertura mensual para organizar con anticipación su Funeral de manera tradicional o temática (personalizada con gustos y preferencias del cliente) Para poder validar la aceptación de este segmento elegido se realizaron encuestas a personas que residan en Lima Metropolitana y callao obteniendo una aceptación del servicio innovador, procediendo a seleccionar los distritos que lideraron en las encuestas. Como resultado se obtuvo que el 44.1% de las personas prefieren realizar sus Funerales de manera tradicional, el 41.2% están dispuestos a optar por una nueva propuesta de Funerales Temáticos hasta realizar el entierro y 14.7% solo desean la propuesta temática, es decir solo el velorio. Con esto se llega a la conclusión que si hay mercado para este nuevo servicio. Según el análisis financiero durante el periodo de 5 años, se demuestra que el proyecto es rentable y que tendrá buena aceptación del mercado objetivo y analizando el Van y TIR que presentan un resultado positivo se llega a la conclusión que el proyecto es viable y que se obtendrá una buena rentabilidad durante periodo establecido por la empresa y con esto lograr expandirse a mercados internacionales logrando un adecuado posicionamiento.

El siguiente proyecto busca cubrir la necesidad latente de un universo interesante de profesionales jóvenes en Santiago. Este universo hoy se encuentra insatisfecho con la escaza disponibilidad de oferta que existe para almorzar o cenar en horarios atípicos, por lo que se ve obligado a pasar a restaurantes de comida rápida, en donde la oferta es variada pero que no cumple con satisfacer las necesidades de buena comida y buen servicio. Dentro del mapa de Santiago, los polos laborales interesantes son: Santiago Centro, Providencia, Las Condes y Huechuraba. Se optó por los más densos y se encontró una ubicación intermedia cómoda y expedita, el Barrio Italia. Los competidores están cerca, por lo que los potenciales clientes podrán discriminar fácilmente su opción entre McDonalds, Burger King, entre otros y una carta gastronómica internacional siempre disponible, en donde puedan sentarse a pasar un buen momento y estar cerca de sus lugares de trabajo. Los horarios de atención serán de medio día + 1 a media noche + 1 que son los horarios en donde más va la gente a comer, de acuerdo a nuestro estudio. Además, se encuadra con el concepto de Bohemia. Es un concepto fácil de memorizar para que el boca a oído sea fácil y permita a los clientes ir confiados en encontrar el servicio disponible. El mercado de restaurantes tiene un crecimiento promedio anual de cerca de un 10%, lo que permite ser optimistas respecto al crecimiento del negocio, el cual se estima que será similar al del mercado por tasas naturales de crecimiento. El ticket promedio será de 15.000 por persona, lo que permite un descreme natural de precios respecto a los competidores mencionados anteriormente. La recuperación de la inversión, se realizaría al cuarto año y dos meses, se espera un ROI de 1.026,81% durante todo el proyecto, un VAN de $136.410.790 y una TIR 36,34%, esto evaluado con una tasa de descuento de 15,05%

Abstract:
This essay deals with translation issues arising when translating a political newspaper article from Spanish into Swedish. The identified issues are strongly related to cultural differences between the culture of the source text and the culture of the target text. Thus, the aim of the study is to identify and explore how cultural references, political concepts and metaphors are translated in the following newspaper article, “Adiós clase media, adiós”. The study is partly based on a quantitative method, which shows that the four most common translation techniques in the present translation are the following: transposition, direct translation, couplet and established equivalent. However, the qualitative analysis, focusing on the social context and the cognitive processes of the translations, proves that several other strategies are useful when translating political concepts. Furthermore, the study verifies that it is necessary that the translator bears in mind that by using one strategy or another, he or she can influence the way the target text will be perceived by the receptor. Some translations are more faithful to the source text while others are more closely related to the target culture. Likewise, some are strongly influenced by the author or publisher and others by the translator’s own ideological purposes.

Abstract:
Whether as a counter-cultural phenomenon or a sociological myth, Bohemia has long eluded concrete definitions. In the last thirty years, however, there has been a noticeable contrast between the ambitious theoretical concerns of cultural historians of nineteenthcentury Continental Bohemianism and the more staunchly biographical approaches of critics concerned with Bohemian writers in mid-Victorian England. In the absence of the Latin Quarter, attempts to define the English Bohemianism of Thackeray's era have been somewhat reductive, revolving around London establishments such as the Garrick Club and disparate groupings such as the metropolitan novelists, journalists, and playwrights who are sometimes pigeonholed as 'Dickens‘s Young Men'. This thesis uses the work of William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-63) to argue that such readings have lost sight of the profound impact which mid-Victorian ideas of Bohemianism had on a far wider section of middle-class Englishmen. Chapter 1 explores the pivotal role which Thackeray played in the translation of Bohemian behavioural ideals from France to England. Beginning and ending with his seminal Bohemian protagonist in 'Vanity Fair' (1847-48), it surveys his engagement with the still-evolving ideas of Bohemianism at home and on the Continent. The chapter interrogates the relationship between the anglicized brand of homosociality which characterizes Thackeray‘s later fiction and the often contradictory images of Bohemianism which were circulating in 1830s and 40s Paris while he was an art student and then a foreign correspondent in the city. In the process, it considers the significant influence which these factors have exerted over later conceptions of Thackeray‘s biography and personality. As a whole, the chapter argues that his increasing focus on more anglicized spheres of masculine interaction in the late 1840s contributed to the emergence of a de-radicalized brand of middle-class English Bohemia. The second chapter considers the parallels between the impact of Thackeray‘s work and the contemporaneous writings of the famous chronicler of Parisian Bohemianism, Henry Murger (1822-61). Through analysis of cultural reception and literary form, this chapter investigates the way in which these writers have been both criticized and revered for perpetuating particularly inclusive myths of Bohemianism. It then explores the way in which Thackeray's 'Bildungsroman, The History of Pendennis' (1848-50), helped to shape other myths of collective homosocial unconventionality — in particular, those which came to surround Fleet Street journalism. Chapters 3 and 4 are companion chapters, surveying the way in which ideas of Bohemianism developed post-'Pendennis' in the course of the 1850s and 60s. They demonstrate that the myths of 'fast' Bohemian life which came to be associated with particular journalists, playwrights, and performers, were as much the product of critical attacks as any form of Bohemian self-representation. Exploring the work of 'Bohemian‘ writers such as George Augustus Sala (1828-95) and Edmund Yates (1831-94), as well as the dynamics of London's eclectic club scene, these chapters conclude that ideas of a 'fast‘ disreputable Bohemianism always coexisted with more widely accepted and understated Bohemian ideals which thrived on remaining undefined.

Suelo recordar a Kurt Vonnegut cuando me preguntan porqué decidí trabajar el tema de los talk shows para obtener el grado de Magister en Comunicación. Lo hago porque este escritor es un convencido de que la mitad de lo que nos sucede en la vida está signado por lo impredecible, por aquello que llamamos suerte y que no podemos controlar o a veces explicar, pues sólo sucede. Algo de eso hay en la elección y posterior trabajo de esta investigación, pues originalmente mis ideas estaban orientadas a una área temática diferente, pero fue durante el segundo semestre de 1997, en el curso de Espacio y Opinión Pública, con Pepi Patrón como maestra, que se produjo el giro.

Este estudo aborda as relações entre história, memória e literatura em Ramona, adiós (Ramona, adéu, 1972), de Montserrat Roig (Barcelona, 13 de junho de 1946 - 10 de novembro de 1991). A análise aplica as imagens do caleidoscópio e do palimpsesto como metáforas criativas para abordar a memória apresentada no romance. O conceito de hipertexto surge como elemento de coesão entre as imagens utilizadas. Para as relações entre memória e história trabalhamos com Walter Benjamim, Nietzsche, Paul Ricoeur, Márcio Seligmann-Silva, Gagnebin, entre outros. Para questões relativas à Teoria do Romance trabalhamos com Luckács, Bakhtin, Auerbach, Barthes. Como operadores teóricos utilizamos as idéias de transgênero performático e de prosa catacrésica desenvolvidas por Ravetti.

Sostiene que los métodos de abordaje del análisis crítico del discurso puede aplicarse con efectividad a textos literarios como Adiós, Ayacucho para poder detectar las diferentes situaciones sociales y relaciones de poder manifestadas en su construcción. Analiza, interpreta y caracteriza el discurso empleado en la novela Adiós, Ayacucho mediante el aporte teórico del análisis crítico del discurso, metodología ACD. Principalmente, se determina de qué manera las producciones discursivas permiten establecer diferencias sociales entre los sectores representados en la novela. Asimismo, se explica cómo estos se expresan mediante discursos claramente distinguibles para realizar demandas sociales. De este modo, se podrá identificar las relaciones establecidas entre los diversos actores sociales y la manifestación de poder a través del uso del lenguaje. Específicamente, este trabajo caracteriza los componentes discursivos en los enunciados emitidos en dicha novela e identifica y describe las ideologías intervinientes en el discurso, así como los mecanismos de poder y estructuras societales detectadas en esa narración.

The thesis is structurally divided into the first part purely theoretical, where are discussed the most important aspects of financial analysis that are able to comprehensively assess the company through financial and analytical apparatus. The second part is focused on the processing of financial analysis for a particular company BOHEMIA ENERGY entity s.r.o. First are evaluated absolute indicators and ratios complemented by an analysis of working capital and the calculation of EVA. Detailed breakdown of ROE and financial distress prediction models subsequently allow overall view of the company. In conclusion, the results are summarized and commented upon in the context of the competitive position within the energy sector. Financial analysis is prepared for the five-year period from 2008 to 2012. All data are from publicly available sources and calculations are taken to the theoretical knowledge of domestic and foreign literature.

In this project, some advertising pieces of the beers Bohemia, Kaiser, Schincariol, Brahma, Skol, Primus and Santa Cerva have been analyzed in order to investigate the social class of people these beers are target at and how the messages interact with the consumer to persuade him to consume a determined product depending on the social class he belongs to. A verbal and non-verbal study was proceeded to prove the difference between the Bohemia advertising and the other beers. The analysis relies on the proposal of several scholars such as Bahktin, Barthes, Pierce, Halliday, Maingueneau, and Vestergaard among others. In this analysis the aim was to show as the Bohemia beer messages fix themselves in its superiority, marking itself for the setting in a target-public of people with a refined taste, who aren t influenced by the easy and rude appeals but who bear in mind the qualities, the tradition and the sophistication. In the selected pieces of these two groups the genre, the interaction between the enunciator and the enunciate, the language functions, the language figures were analyzed. After the analysis, several features that strongly differentiate the publicity nature of the two groups were distinguished. Firstly, Bohemia puts itself as a queen, the most perfect in every sense in its preparation, in its layout, always exalting its supremacy and the elegance of its consumer, investing in more subtle, discreet, with sober colors advertising pieces, which are directed to intelligent and cultured people who don t get satisfied with the trivial. The aim focused is the quality of the consumer. The other beers, resort to half-naked women, strong colors, easy pleasure atmosphere which persuades to the idea that everyone can and must drink the product the focus is clearly to achieve the mass of the beer consumers.
Nesse trabalho procurou-se analisar algumas peças publicitárias das cervejas Bohemia, Kaiser, Schincariol, Brahma, Skol, Primus e Santa Cerva para investigar a que classe de pessoas essas cervejas são direcionadas e de que forma as mensagens interagem com o consumidor, a fim de persuadi-lo a consumir determinado produto, dependendo da classe social a que pertence. Procedeu-se a um estudo verbal e não-verbal, para comprovar a diferença entre a publicidade da Bohemia e a das outras cervejas. A análise apóia-se na proposta de vários estudiosos como Bahktin, Barthes, Peirce, Halliday, Maingueneau, Vestergaard, entre outros. Nessa análise objetivou-se mostrar como as mensagens da cerveja Bohemia se fixam na sua superioridade, marcando-se pela fixação em um público-alvo de pessoas de gosto apurado, que não se deixam levar por apelos fáceis e grosseiros, mas que levam em conta a qualidade, a tradição e a sofisticação. Nas peças selecionadas desses dois grupos de cerveja analisou-se o gênero, a interação entre enunciador e enunciatário, as funções da linguagem, as figuras de linguagem e outros recursos de valorização da linguagem. Após a análise, distinguiram-se vários traços que diferenciam marcadamente a natureza da publicidade dos dois grupos. Primeiramente, a Bohemia se coloca como a rainha, a mais perfeita em todos os sentidos seja no seu preparo, seja no seu layout sempre exaltando a sua supremacia e a elegância de seu consumidor, investindo em peças publicitárias mais sutis, discretas, com cores mais sóbrias, voltadas para pessoas inteligentes, cultas e que não se contentam com o banal. A meta em foco é a qualidade do público consumidor. As outras cervejas, apelando para mulheres seminuas, cores fortes, ambientes de prazer fácil, induzem à idéia de que todos podem e devem beber o produto. A meta em foco é nitidamente atingir a massa dos consumidores de cerveja.

The practical part presents Becker Bohemia s.r.o. at first, followed by a description of its technical base and the processes handling with different types of waste. Abstract:
The region of West Bohemia/Vogtland in the Czech–German border area is well known for the repeated occurrence of earthquake swarms, CO2 emanations and mofette fields. To deepen the understanding of these phenomena local earthquake tomography of the Vp and Vp/Vs structure and attenuation tomography are carried out in this study. In comparison with previous investigations the travel time tomography revealed more details of the near-surface geology, potential fluid pathways and features around and below the swarm focal zone. In the uppermost crust, for the first time the Cheb basin and the Bublák/Hartoušov mofette fields were imaged as distinct anomalies of Vp and Vp/Vs. The well-pronounced low-Vp anomaly of the Cheb basin is not continuing into the Eger rift indicating a particular role of the basin within the rift system. A steep channel of increased Vp/Vs is interpreted as the pathway for fluids ascending from the earthquake swarm focal zone up to the Bublák/Hartoušov mofette fields. As a new feature, a mid-crustal body of high Vp and increased Vp/Vs is revealed just below and north of the earthquake swarm focal zone. It may represent a solidified intrusive body which emplaced prior or during the formation of the rift system. The enhanced fluid flow into the focal zone and triggering of earthquakes could be driven by the presence of the intrusive body if cooling is not fully completed. The assumed intrusive structure is considered as a heterogeneity leading to higher stress particularly at the junction of the rift system with the basin and prominent fault structures. This may additionally contribute to the triggering of earthquakes. The three-dimensional (3-D) P-wave attenuation (Qp) model for West Bohemia is the first of its kind. Path-averaged attenuation t * is calculated from amplitude spectra of time windows around the P-wave arrivals of local earthquakes. Average value or Qp for stations close to Nový Kostel are very low (< 150) compared to that of stations located further away from the focal zone (increases up to 500 within 80 km distance). The SIMUL2000 tomography scheme is used to invert the t * for P-wave attenuation perturbation. Analysis of resolution shows that the model is wellresolved in the vicinity of earthquake swarm hypocenters. The prominent features of the model are located around Nový Kostel focal zone and its northern vicinity. Beneath Nový Kostel a vertically stretched (down to depth of 11 km) and a highly attenuating body is observed. This might be due to fracturing and high density of cracks inside the weak earthquake swarm zone in conjunction with presence of free gas/fluid. Further north of Nový Kostel two high attenuating body are located at depths between 2 to 8 km which can represents trapped laterally distributed fluids. The eastern anomaly shows a good correlation with the fluid accumulation area which was suggested in 9HR seismic profile.

The advertising text, which avails itself of stylistic and argumentative resources of the daily language to inform and to manipulate, is characterized by the rational use of these instruments to change or to maintain the opinion of its target audience. Based on the concepts of advertising language presented by Sandmann (2001), this research aims to analyze the campaigns of the beer Bohemia, specifically that named Enciclopédia Bohemia, broadcast in printed media from May to December 2004. Leaning on the foundations of the Textual Linguistics proposed by Fávero and Koch (1998), Fávero (2002) and Koch (1999), this research aims to verify whether the most frequent cohesion mechanisms in devising titles and subtitles of ads of the mentioned brand, as well as the verbal and nonverbal resources, let to memorize itself on the consumer s mind.

This thesis examines the construction of female Franciscan dynastic identities in Bohemia and the Polish duchies in the thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. In Franciscan studies, the evidence produced on Franciscan nuns is still treated as marginal to our understanding of the order. Histories of nuns within the order are still based on anachronistic hagiographic chronologies, which promote teleologic metanarratives that portray the experiences of the hagiographic Francis of Assisi as the norm. This androcentric bias is matched by the neglect of evidence associated with non- western-European subjects. This has occurred in part because hagiography-driven histories promote the friar who begs in Italian town squares as the default Franciscan identity, and in part because of the twentieth-century political division of Europe into a West and an East. The case studies examined in this thesis — communities of nuns that were located in Prague, Zawichost, Wrocław, Stary Sącz, and Gniezno — were not only female and Central European, they were also linked closely with the Bohemian and Polish Přemyslid and Piast dynasties. My thesis breaks down the metanarratives that have excluded Central-European nuns from the order’s history, and explains how and why the Franciscan and dynastic penitential models came together in this geographical region at this point in time. The Franciscan penitential model promoted an uncompromising renunciation of the world that would seem to have excluded the participation of ruling dynasties. However, it also encouraged people such as the Přemyslids and Piasts, in whole or part, to exchange their earthly for heavenly goods, and thus created strong links between ruling dynasties and the Franciscan order. When examined using a methodology based on sociological models of gift exchange, as opposed to one which emphasises linear progression, the evidence for my case-study communities emerges as central, not peripheral, to our understanding of the Franciscan order as a penitential movement created to save all souls.

The sources of the theories underlying Czech Cubist architecture before World War I have been only sketchily studied to date. To analyze these theories and identify their sources, I focus on the work of architect and theorist Pavel Janak (1882-1956), an early proponent of Cubist architecture in Bohemia. The thesis incorporates my translation of Janak's unpublished journal for 1911-1914, the dominant years of Czech Cubism. Through this journal and Janak's published writings, together with an examination of his own readings, I trace the development of his theories, and situate his sources, within their historical context. Janak was no mere imitator of French Cubism but was concerned to develop innovative architecture that yet possessed both historical continuity and universal validity, thanks to its space-creating qualities.
The thesis includes a facsimile of Janak's journal with its numerous sketches, a translation en face, and a complete bibliography of his sources.

El teatro surge de un diálogo con el acontecer social. Es así que el grupo teatral Yuyachkani se vio impulsado a incorporar elementos políticos en sus obras, como respuesta al periodo de violencia política que vivió el Perú en los años 1980 - 2000. La obra teatral Adiós Ayacucho refleja esta incorporación de lo político, pues tiene como eje el conflicto interno que asoló al país por 20 años. El objetivo de este estudio es conocer de qué manera se presentan esos elementos políticos en Adiós Ayacucho. Además se busca conocer a qué elementos propios de la realidad social vivida en ese momento remite la obra e identificar los hechos sociales que impulsaron a Yuyachkani a crear espacios políticos con sus obras. Para el análisis se han seleccionado 4 elementos políticos del periodo de violencia, presentes en Adiós Ayacucho: muertos y desaparecidos a causa de Sendero Luminoso, el MRTA y las Fuerzas Armadas y Policiales; reclamo de justicia de parte de los afectados por el terrorismo; abuso de parte de las Fuerzas Armadas y Policiales; e indiferencia de parte de las autoridades y la sociedad. Se encontró que lo político en la obra Adiós Ayacucho guarda relación con el periodo de violencia sufrida en el país. A través de los componentes escénicos de la obra, Yuyachkani logra mostrar elementos políticos propios de ese tiempo. Se constató que Yuyachkani fue uno de los pocos actores sociales que presentó la realidad vivida en ese momento. Las nuevas formas de crear que encontraron se reflejaron en el uso del espacio, en la representación de la no-presencia, en la irrupción en espacios cotidianos para la presentación de sus obras, en la recurrencia a testimonios de víctimas para construir su discurso teatral. Es así que se concluye que Adiós Ayacucho, más que ser una obra teatral, es una práctica política, pues los actores se asumieron como mediadores y testimoniantes; se desplazaron entre el arte y los acontecimientos sociales. Adiós Ayacucho adquirió un carácter político no sólo por la temática, sino también por la forma en la que se construyó la obra: en el diálogo con el acontecer social.

This study offers an analysis of the interaction between urban spaces and bohemian literature in Madrid around 1900. I argue that bohemianism and bohemian literature are actually part of a very well structured cultural discourse--a discourse of social resistance--and must be studied as such. At the same time, the obvious urban nature of this phenomenon is a deciding aspect of it. In order to know how the bohemian discourse evolved in Madrid from 1850s to 1920s--from Realism to Modernismo--we have to study the core and reciprocal relationship between bohemianism and the city. This issue has not yet been explored within Hispanism, in spite of the fact that it provides a very useful perspective for considering the period as a synthesis of intellectual and artistic matters.In my dissertation I engage the essential aspects of bohemianism in the turn of the twentieth century Spanish literature. I focus on the characterization and use of space in the bohemian discourse of Peninsular Modernismo. My starting point is the description and characterization of such a discourse as it has been constructed, analyzing how it takes form in a variety of different kind of texts. I study the construction and evolution of its "cartographic imaginary" (David Harvey), an image of the city that bohemian literature uses to resist the bourgeois order imposed on Madrid's urban spaces and the capitalistic process that supports it. I argue that bohemianism was taken by the peninsular version of Hispanic Modernismo as its central aesthetic discourse. Consequently, and because of the subaltern and marginal nature of it, Modernismo could never position itself at the central stage of the 1900s Spanish culture.

After the onset of the Cold War, literature and culture continued to circulate across the so-called Iron Curtain between the United States and the countries of the Eastern bloc, often with surprising consequences. This dissertation presents a narrative history of literary exchange between the US and Czechoslovakia between 1947 and 1989. I provide an account of the material circulation of texts and discourses that is grounded in the biographical experiences of specific writers and intellectuals who served as key intermediaries between Cold War blocs. Individual chapters focus on F. O. Matthiessen, Josef Škvorecký, Allen Ginsberg, and Philip Roth, and I discuss the transmission of literary works by writers like Franz Kafka, Ernest Hemingway, Langston Hughes, Ludvík Vaculík, and Milan Kundera. I also discuss a range of institutions—from literary magazines and book series to universities and government censors—that mediated the circulation of literature between the US and Czechoslovakia. To reconstruct this history, I draw on a multilingual archive of sources that includes transnational correspondence, secret police files, travelogues, and samizdat texts. A central argument of “Cold War Bohemia” is that the transnational circulation of literature produced new lines of countercultural influence across the Iron Curtain. By the 1970s and 1980s, literary exchange also helped constitute a network of writers and intellectuals who promoted new discourses about the relationship between literature, dissent, and human rights. The literary counterculture that emerged between the US and Czechoslovakia took on many local and contingent forms, but in each case, the circulation of literature allowed a new transnational public to imagine an alternative world beyond Cold War boundaries.

Este trabalho tem por finalidade empreender uma reflexão crítica do panorama cultural no Rio de Janeiro a partir do estudo de sua boemia literária, do período que vai do manifesto republicano de 1870 às primeiras décadas do novo século - período intitulado de Belle Époque. As transformações de cunho modernizante, a secularização do Estado, as batalhas pela abolição e pela proclamação da república, bem como o esforço coletivo para vencer as barreiras relativas à ascensão social e política e, mais tarde, a reurbanização da cidade e a supressão da cultura popular formam o pano de fundo deste estudo. O que se pretende aqui é enquadrar a boemia no fulcro do dilema burguês: por um lado, os interesses do capital; pelo outro, os ideais de emancipação do homem. Neste sentido, a boemia serve de mediadora entre temporalidades históricas sobrepostas, uma vez que, se a modernização permitiu que ela viesse a lume, ao mesmo tempo, a própria modernidade refuta a instabilidade de seus papéis sociais. Comprimida pelo imaginário de um mundo antigo e a instrumentação de um mundo moderno, os boêmios se apresentam como figuras sacrificiais que ritualizam o desespero moderno.
The main purpose of this work is to develop a critic reflection of the cultural process in Rio de Janeiro based on its literary bohemia, through the period that goes from the republican manifest of 1870 to the first decades of the new century - period known as Belle Époque. The modernization changes, as the secularization of the State, the battles for the abolition of slavery and for the proclamation of the republic, as well as the struggles to overcome the obstacles for social and political ascension and, later, the re- urbanization of the city and the suppression of popular culture form the background of this research. What is pretended here is to fit the bohemia in the middle of the bourgeois dilemma: the interests of capital, in the one hand; the ideals of emancipation of mankind, on the other hand. For that, the bohemia makes the mediation between overwhelmed historical temporalities: if the modernity allows the bohemian phenomenon to arise, this same modernity refuses the instability of their social roles. Compressed by the imaginary of an archaic world and the instrumental possibilities of a modern world, bohemians present themselves as sacrificial figures that ritualize the modern desperation.

Earthquake swarms occur frequently in West Bohemia, Central Europe. Their occurrence is correlated with and propably triggered by fluids that escape on the earth's surface near the epicentres. These fluids raise up periodically from a seemingbly deep-seated source in the upper mantle. Moment tensors for swarm events in 1997 indicate tensile faulting. However, they were determined under assumption of seismic isotropy although anisotropy can be observed. Anisotropy may obscure moment tensors and their interpretation. In 2000, more than 10,000 swarm earthquakes occurred near Novy Kostel, West Bohemia. Event triggering by fluid injection is likely. Activity lasted from 28/08 until 31/12/00 (9 phases) with maximum ML=3.2. High quality P-wave seismograms were used to retrieve the source mechanisms for 112 events between 28/08/00 and 30/10/00 using > 20 stations. We determine the source geometry using a new algorithm and different velocity models including anisotropy. From inversions of P waves we observe ML<3.2, strike-slip events on steep N-S oriented faults with additional normal or reverse components. Tensile components seem to be evident for more than 60% of the processed swarm events in West Bohemia during the phases 1-7. Being most significant at great depths and at phases 1-4 during the swarm they are time and location dependent. Although tensile components are reduced when anisotropy is assumed they persist and seem to be important. They can be explained by pore-pressure changes due to the injection of fluids that raise up. Our findings agree with other observations e.g. correlation of fluid transport and seismicity, variations in b-value, forcing rate, and in pore pressure diffusion. Tests of our results show their significance.

Cette thèse analyse les modalités et les enjeux du langage implicite au sein de deux pièces du théâtre espagnol d’avant-garde. À travers l’étude approfondie de Luces de bohemia et Yerma, écrites respectivement par Ramón del Valle-Inclán et Federico García Lorca, ce travail de recherche met en exergue l’importance d’une communication oblique dans le projet de renouveau de ces deux dramaturges emblématiques du premier tiers du XXe siècle. Il s’attache d’une part à présenter les différentes composantes du répertoire implicite présentes dans la matrice textuelle de chacune des deux pièces, à examiner leur fonctionnement dans les échanges entre les personnages ainsi qu’avec le public et à déterminer leur place dans l’esthétique grotesque de l’esperpento et dans la réflexion sur le clivage du sujet au sein du poème tragique. L’exploration de l’implicite en interaction implique en outre une prise en compte du contexte et de la multiplicité de signes qui échappent au domaine strictement verbal, mais qui participent pleinement à l’actualisation de ces contenus latents. C’est pourquoi cette étude inclut également un corpus de mises en scène et d’adaptations cinématographiques. D’autre part, il s’agit de démontrer que la prolifération des sous-entendus, de l’ironie, des actes illocutoires indirects, des métaphores, ou encore des points de suspension n’obéit pas uniquement à une finalité cosmétique. N’ayant de cesse de questionner la théâtralité — la stratification du dispositif énonciatif, la tension entre le texte et la représentation, la densité des signes —, ces informations livrées en marge de ce qui est expressément dit instaurent une véritable poétique de l’ambiguïté qui ébranle les fondements de la dramaturgie conventionnelle. La concentration de ces procédés trouble en effet le bon fonctionnement du dialogue entre les personnages, entraînant également une rupture dans le rapport avec les lecteurs/spectateurs. En définitive, cette argumentation propose de mettre en regard les formes lacunaires avec la volonté de mettre fin à l’endormissement du public, appelé à endosser un rôle décisif dans le déchiffrement des implicites intégrés à un théâtre total
This thesis analyses the modalities and challenges of implicit language in two plays of avant-garde Spanish theatre. Through the study of Luces de bohemia and Yerma, written respectively by Ramón del Valle-Inclán and Federico García Lorca, this research highlights the importance of oblique communication in the renewal project of these two emblematic playwrights of the first third of the 20th century. On the one hand, it sets out to present the different components of an implicit repertoire in the textual matrix of these two plays, to examine how these components operate in exchanges between the characters and with the audience and to determine the part they play in the grotesque aesthetic of Esperpento and in a reflection on the subject division within the tragic poem. Exploring the implicit in interaction also implies taking into account the context and the multiplicity of signs which extend far beyond the verbal domain and fully contribute to updating these contents. This is why this study also includes a corpus of stagings and film adaptations. On the other hand, this research demonstrates that the proliferation of undertones, irony, indirect illocutionary acts, metaphors, or even ellipsis does not only serve a cosmetic purpose. Constantly questioning the theatrics - the stratification of the enunciative device, the tension between text and representation, the density of the signs -, these elements of information, delivered on the margin of what is expressly said, create a true poetics of ambiguity which shakes the foundations of conventional dramaturgy. The concentration of these processes indeed disturbs the proper functioning of the dialogue between the characters, also causing a break in the relationship with the readers / spectators. Ultimately, this argument proposes to compare incomplete forms with the desire to put an end to the falling asleep of the audience, called to take on a decisive role in deciphering the implicit integrated into a total theatre

Desde la antigüedad, la noche ha representado para el hombre un espacio que entraña misterio y desconfianza. No obstante, importantes actividades ligadas al desenfreno y diversión se han gestado en este territorio. La noche adquiere un abanico de significaciones que conforman parte de la identidad de diversas colectividades. El propósito de esta investigación es examinar diversos elementos que forman parte de un imaginario nocturno de la sociedad chilena, a través de la circulación y elementos de la bohemia santiaguina, durante el período 1950-1973. La bohemia se expresa en la afluencia de diversos espacios de sociabilidad y prácticas artísticas específicas al margen de la sociedad tradicional. Relaciono este ámbito de ocio con una cultura de masas en pleno desarrollo para el período en estudio y la concepción de un imaginario que se nutre de elementos de una sociedad chilena que se percibe en búsqueda de la modernidad y lo cosmopolita, pero que, al mismo tiempo, busca definir su identidad a través de elementos representativos de lo nacional. El desarrollo de esta temática considera en primer lugar, el análisis de ciertas redes y qué prácticas específicas, se vislumbran parte de estas nociones. El énfasis se centra en el género revisteril chileno y las Compañías de Revistas, como Bim Bam Bum, Picaresque y Humoresque. El segundo propósito se vuelca hacia develar el significado social del cuerpo y la gestualidad en esta época. La vedette, uno de los integrantes de la revista es parte de esta búsqueda, porque en ella se sitúan una serie de problemáticas que atañen a la inscripción de su figura en lo frívolo, lo sensual y también asociada a la marginalidad, formando parte del imaginario nocturno. Además la vedette es relevante porque constituye una figura femenina escasamente estudiada en nuestra cultura.

Abstract:
In this study, ambient noise wavefield was used for the first time to image spatial and temporal upper crustal seismic structures in NW-Bohemia/Vogtland region. The data come from 111 stations and were collected from continuous recordings of the permanent station networks of Germany and Czech Academy of Sciences as well as temporary stations of the BOHEMA and PASSEQ experiments. Rayleigh and Love waves travelling between each station-pair are extracted by cross-correlating long time series of ambient noise data recorded at the stations. Group velocity dispersion curves are obtained by time-frequency analysis of cross-correlation functions between 0.1 and 1 Hz, and are tomographically inverted to provide 2-D group velocity maps. At shorter periods Rayleigh wave group velocity maps are in good agreement with surface geology where low velocity anomalies appear along Mariánské Lázně Fault and Eger rift. A low velocity zone is observed at the northern edge of Mariánské Lázně Fault which shifts slightly to the south with increasing period and correlates well with the main focal zone of the earthquake swarms at 5 s period. We invert the 2-D group velocity maps into a 3-D shear wave velocity model. In this step Love waves were excluded from further analysis because of their high level of misfit to modelled dispersion curves. Horizontal and vertical sections through the model reveal a clear low velocity zone above the Nový Kostel seismic focal zone which narrows towards the top of the seismic activity and ends above the shallowest hypocenters at 7 km depth. We investigate temporal variation of seismic velocity within and around the Nový Kostel associated with 2008 and 2011 earthquake swarms by employing Passive Image Interferometry method using 7 continuous seismograms recorded by the WEBNET network. The results reveals stable seismic velocities without a clear post seismic velocity change during earthquake swarms in the Nový Kostel area.

Through close textual analysis of 20th century Czech anthropological texts from the Revivalist and Socialist periods and contemporary social research conducted after the Velvet Revolution, I demonstrate certain prominent discourses of identity developed in early Bohemian anthropology and their continuities in present day popular discourses. In each period, identity is deeply intertwined with teleological theories of history with Czech populations at the apex of cultural evolutionary development. In the Revivalist period this apex was believed to be the democratic nation state, transitioning to a Marxist nation state in the Socialist period, and in the contemporary period is conceived of as a neoliberal nation state. A major function of anthropology in the Revivalist and Socialist periods was to legitimate either period’s respective teleological theory and Czech possession of relevant values as 'objective' and 'natural' fact, a general mode of discourse which continued in the contemporary period in numerous editorials in the 1990s on the advantages of capitalism. The contemporary manifestation has particularly noteworthy consequences for the Roma minority, which I argue has provided Czech discourses with an ethnic category 'anti-thetical' to their own identity, providing a 'repository' for negative Czech self-stereotypes emerging from collaboration in the Socialist period.

Este trabajo analiza la construcción de la identidad performativa de Julio Ramón Ribeyro en el “Diario Antuerpense” a partir de dos modelos: el del “hombre letrado” y el del “poeta maldito”. Dicho diario forma parte de la colección titulada La tentación del fracaso Detrás de la idea de una identidad performativa está la noción -que ya es casi sentido común- de que no se puede hablar más de la identidad desde términos esenciales. La forma en que una persona se desenvuelve dependerá siempre de una gran cantidad de factores, y este desenvolvimiento puede considerarse como una actuación. que abarca su vida entre 1950 y 1978. El “Diario Antuerpense” es aquel que escribe en 1957, durante su estadía en el barrio de Mortsel en la provincia de Antwerp, Bélgica. Según Robert J. Landy, hasta los 30’s el concepto de rol era un término asociado sólo al teatro, pero a partir de esta época se convirtió en una metáfora que se aplicaba al análisis psicológico y social hasta que ahora la noción del mundo como un teatro ha adquirido “respetabilidad científica” (Persona and performance… 19).
