Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine records management practices as factors influencing the administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Design/methodology/approach – The study adopted the causal-comparative research design of the ex post facto type. The multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the sample for the study. A four-point Likert scale questionnaire that ranged from strongly disagree, disagree, agree and strongly agree was used to collect data. Three research questions were raised and answered. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings – The outcome shows the various records management practices that the Church engaged in which include the creation, maintenance, ease of access to, use, preservation and final disposal of the records. Other findings of the study also revealed the joint influence (positive relationship) of records management practices (records creation, use, maintenance and retention or disposal) on the administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) to be significant which follows that there is a significant positive relationship between records management practices and administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Also, it is only record use (β = 0.27; t = 5.53; p < 0.05) that has a significant relative influence on the Church of Nigeria’s (Anglican Communion) administration. Others like record creation or received (β = 0.02; t = 0.28; p > 0.05), records maintenance (β = −0.06; t = −0.93; p > 0.05) and records retention or disposal (β = 0.11; t = 1.76; p > 0.05) have no significant influence on the church administration. Therefore, it is only records use that can predict or influence the administration of Anglican Church positively. Originality/value – The study is the original findings of the authors.

Abstract:
Church parishioners data management is an important part of the administration of a church. In fact, many churches do it manually where parishionersal data is stored in physical forms or in church record books. This condition happened at GKJ Wates. The initial condition at GKJ Wates is the data from of a physical form . The data is the result of the census about 2 (two) years ago. It is realized that the data has changed a lot, so it is necessary to update before implementing electronic data management. In an effort to assist the administration of the church's data, assistance steps have been developed that include the compilation of attributes relevant to the church's data management. Furthermore, the attributes are compiled into a form that is ready to be filled out by each parishioners. This agreed form is then distributed to the parishioners through their respective district administrators. The church team, assisted by the UKDW PkM team, recorded the parishioners's data electronically, complete with a spiritual journey scheme including baptism, sidi, and marriage. By utilizing Excel Macro, the electrical data of the GKJ Wates parishioners was successfully visualized in the form of a dashboard. The visualized parishioners data includes the percentage of the parishioners by blood type and gender, the church's spiritual journey scheme based on membership category, membership records, age category, and gender. The information on this dashboard can help the church in making decisions related to the development of the parishioners at GKJ Wates.

Abstract:
Abstract The paper addresses issues regarding the current balance between spirituality and administration in different church denominations using an interdisciplinary approach which combines management science and theology. It presents a comparative study of organizational culture of the Roman Catholic Church, a Lutheran church, and a Reformed church with the use of the questionnaire based on the Competing Values Framework (Cameron/Quinn) and qualitative interviews with leading persons in church. The authors discuss the findings from two different but complementary perspectives: in relation to the four types of organizational cultures in the Cameron/Quinn framework, and as a result of the specific denominational semantics represented in the questionnaire used for the study. The results show how the question of modernity is reflected in organizational culture of churches, and how deeply the respondents’ perception of church is influenced by inherent normativity. One of the central conclusions is that religiously rooted normativity serves as an instrument of balancing the administrative and the spiritual in church.

Abstract:
This paper deals with church assets and the changes in the German VAT law with the resulting consequences. The implementation of EU law has resulted in numerous changes in the handling of assets and commercial facilities of institutional bodies such as the church. Using the example of the church district administration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Dithmarschen, an overview of the application cases for assets was examined. After an introductory overview and an analytical examination of the new law in the value added tax law, a result of action is provided in this elaboration, which will also be of interest for comparable facilities, corporations and institutions.

Abstract:
The article reveals the changes that took place in the parish administration of the Russian Orthodox Church after the revolutionary events of 1917. It is shown how during the last hundred years within the framework of changes in the state religious policy, the opportunities for the clergy to participate in the management of parishes have changed. State legislative acts regulating the religious sphere and documents adopted by local and bishops' Councils are analysed. The article assesses the attempts to use the experience of Congregationalism in the management of the Orthodox Church in Russia, including at the present historical stage.

Abstract:
This study is devoted to the proposed approach to the use of information technologies, in particular, computer geometric modeling, to improve the efficiency of management of complex socio-economic systems on the example of modern Orthodoxy. The urgency of the chosen topic is due to the rapid return of a large number of people in our country to eternal Christian values after many years of forced atheism. These facts significantly contribute to the current intensive restoration of religious buildings, the construction of new temples, the revival of monasteries, the improvement of places of pilgrimage, the optimization of proper organizational and territorial church structures, the implementation of spiritual-educational and other charitable activities. Our days are characterized by global social changes, such as the widespread introduction of market relations in all spheres of life, land, medical, educational reform, decentralization of state power and more. The above features reveal the high dynamism in the spiritual and material plan of the current stage of development of Ukraine, which is significantly burdened by the COVID-19 pandemic, the military conflict with Russia and other unfavourable factors. The main purpose of the publication is to highlight the developed mathematical apparatus for the automated reproduction of the organizational-territorial cluster structures of Orthodoxy. This ensures, on the basis of the proposed complex geometric models, the improvement of church governance, for example, regarding the definition of rational territorial boundaries of parishes and dioceses, the determining of the need for their unification, liquidation or the formation of new ones, optimization of the location of temples, chapels, educational institutions, etc. The considered approach allows to save material, financial, human and natural resources, to reduce terms and to improve the quality of acceptance of various decisions. The latter applies to a large number of objects and processes, their various properties. The article also outlines promising directions for further scientific research on the selected topic.

Abstract:
An economic recession can disproportionately affect the financial stability of churches because their income relies primarily on voluntary contributions. The purpose of this phenomenological study, framed by servant leadership theory, was to explore lived experiences and perceptions related to church leaders' strategies for coping with the economic downturn in 2008. A purposive sample of 20 church leaders from Tennessee was recruited to explore the changes that have been made in church operational strategies in order to cope with the recession. The interview data were iteratively examined by using keywords, phrases, and concepts and were coded into categories, which led to the identification of the following themes: (a) implementing cost reduction efforts and increasing the reliance on volunteers for facility upkeep, (b) collaborating with other church leaders for assistance referrals and fraud detection, and (c) sharing facilities and dividing expenses. The study results contribute to positive social change by providing strategies that church leaders can implement to mitigate the negative effects of a financial downturn, strengthen their financial position and stability, and enable them to provide necessary community support. Financial stability in neighborhood churches is conducive to a stronger community because churches serve as focal points for volunteerism and assistance delivery.

Abstract:

A Shepherd’s responsibility is to care for and guide sheep in such a way that they (sheep) can effectively and proficiently perform the duties that are natural and necessary to sheep. The same is true with leaders and managers as it relates to their followers. This quantitative correlational research study was conducted to discover whether the biblical shepherd leadership model, particularly its characteristics, practices, and responsibilities (CPR), were related to successful church growth. A 45-item Likert type survey was used to ascertain the level of shepherd leadership of 106 pastors in the Church of God in Michigan. This score was then compared with statistical information found in the treasurers and ministry reports namely, attendance, tithe, and conversions that took place at these pastors’ local churches within a five year period. The results of the study showed a statistical positive association between shepherd leadership and the attendance and financial data. The data also showed a negative association between shepherd leadership and conversions. These findings will be helpful to pastors, educators, and church leaders to be more effective in ministry.

Abstract:
The present paper provides an overview of the situation of church bodies when dealing with subsidies. The starting position and topicality of this topic has been the subject of intense debate in the media and in the political sphere, also for church sector for some time. A look at the figures shows that numerous funding programmes from EU, federal and/or state programmes could well be eligible for church bodies, but that the funds provided are rarely or never called up. The problems lie in the complexity of the funding programmes and the respective guidelines and extend right into the organisational structures of the spartan church administration. A glance at the federal government’s funding database shows the importance of the topic. Tight budgets due to declining church tax revenues, lack of personnel capacities, demographic conditions are inhibiting factors in funding management on the part of church administrations.

Abstract:
The paper is an initial form of dissemination of the research activities carried out by the IUAV University of Venice working group which, on behalf of the Municipal administration of Brendola, seeks to delineate the application of a methodology for the study and analysis of the architectural and landscape heritage of significant cultural interest that is in a state of abandonment. The case study application is the church of San Michele Arcangelo in Brendola (Vicenza), known as the “Incompiuta” (“Unfinished”). The case study proposed is an interesting exemplar of ecclesiastical architecture, designed by engineer-architect Fausto Franco, in which its characteristics of being unfinished and in a state of ruin contribute to redefining the image of a work that fits in a historical context of architectural and technical experimentation, where the reference to historical architecture is mediated by contemporary forms and by the use of modern building materials, among which, the use of reinforced bricks is noteworthy. The research activity, which is taking place in the context of the COVID-19 health emergency, aims at putting a series of strategies and operational practices based on the digitisation of data to the test, so as to allow increased interoperability and sharing through the building of an online open data repository addressed to the actors involved in the conservation process and to the community. In the processes of conservation and valorisation, in-depth knowledge and documentation of the materials and construction techniques involves multidisciplinary areas; effectively organising them in a system that regulates their collection, cataloguing, processing and archiving according to shared procedures, therefore becomes a fundamental prerequisite for the development of operational planning of the valorisation strategies. All the instruments that make it possible to collect data and reach a true knowledge of the object therefore become indispensable. From this point of view, the push towards the digitisation of the data that emerged during the pandemic phase plays a fundamental role in the range of application possibilities, from the survey to the mechanisms for the conservation and management of the cultural heritage.
