Subjects were limited to men and women over 60 years of age. In an attempt to determine the relationship between dietary fiber and estrogen levels in premenopausal adult women, seven subjects completed all of the requirements as volunteers for this study. The subjects consumed two experimental diets using a cross-over experimental design. Data were collected in a community-based longitudinal study from 1983 to 1985 in a semi-rural Egyptian village.
