The lifetime prevalence of clinical depression in patients living with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is approximately 22% compared to 3% to 10% in the primary care population. The nursing practice problem at the project site concerned nurses' lack of knowledge and understanding of procedures to help ensure that all patients living with HIV/AIDS were properly screened for depression and referred for further evaluation and treatment. In addition, common mental disorders (CMDs), including depression and anxiety have their peak incidence during this period and they have been found to increase risk of non-adherence to ART. Abstract:
We examined the links between HIV-stigma, loneliness and sleep quality in 181 people living with HIV (PLWH) who completed an online self-report questionnaire. Results suggested that the indirect effect of stigma on poorer sleep through increased loneliness was significant. Researchers will address implications for research on stigma and health.

Abstract:
This research tests and refines a middle range theoretical model about unitary developmental patterns in aging adults and dying adults. The primary aim was to explore the relationships among four unitary patterns of Health (power, personal death awareness, perceived symptoms in transition, and well-being) and three unitary patterns of Spirituality (self-transcendence, spiritual perspective, and meaning and purpose in life and death). A secondary aim was to explore the personal meanings of death for participants. A descriptive, cross-sectional design was used to answer the research questions. T

Abstract:
This qualitative research study focuses explicitly on understanding the experiences and perceptions of urban Aboriginal women living with HIV/AIDS. Stigmatizing attitudes and language have serious impacts upon the lives of HIV-positive Aboriginal women. The ways our society presently addresses the women needs to change. With the insights and assistance of four Aboriginal women living with HIV, this project adds to the presently sparse qualitative literature in this research area. Current research indicates that there are many factors associated with urban Aboriginal women being at higher risk

Abstract:
Portugal has traditionally had the highest HIV incidence in Western Europe, currently standing at 0.6% (UNAIDS, 2011). In addition, men in Portugal are disproportionately infected with HIV. Portuguese men are traditionally expected to initiate sexual activity earlier than women and not to worry about safer sex. However, little is known about how prevailing norms of masculinity may influence their experiences of living with HIV. Informed by an interpretivist epistemology and utilising multiple methods, data were gathered from in-depth interviews with 20 men living with HIV and 10 professionals
