AbstractPast research shows that prices move in response to World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) reports immediately prior to and after a report. This research develops trading models based on knowing the next WASDE report in advance. This should help traders evaluate investments to predict information contained within the report and in determining how best to use such forecasts. The price-forecasting models use regressions against the ratios of ending stocks to use. Results show a steady increasing return to trading over the report month. The highest returns are produced by

The company's delay in reporting financial statements has increased yearly. This study aims to examine several variables that are considered to affect audit report lag. These factors include investment opportunities, profitability, company size, audit committee size, and auditor opinion. The populations in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017-2019. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, using criteria for determining the sample so that 314 sample companies were obtained for three years of observation (2017 - 2019). The data analysis

Medicine, particularly with respect to diagnostic decision-making, has seen remarkable advances in the last ten years. The art of diagnosis has become much more of a science. Basic science advances have moved from the laboratory into the hospital and radically changed the way a medical diagnosis is arrived at or confirmed. Dentistry, especially oral diagnosis, as yet has not been a significant part of this general medical advance. However, several examples demonstrate that this situation is starting to change. Oral conditions are beginning to be evaluated with greater precision and sophisticat

A MESSAGE FROM ASCO’S PRESIDENT I am pleased to present Clinical Cancer Advances 2017, which highlights the most promising advances in patient-oriented cancer research over the past year. The report gives us an opportunity to reflect on what an exciting time it is for cancer research and how swiftly our understanding of cancer has improved. One year ago, the White House announced the national Cancer Moonshot program to accelerate progress against cancer. This shared vision of progress has reinvigorated the research community, identified new areas of scientific collaboration, and raised our amb

This article 'Screening of Advance Rice Lines Against Natural Flooding' appeared in the International Rice Research Newsletter series, created by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The primary objective of this publication was to expedite communication among scientists concerned with the development of improved technology for rice and for rice based cropping systems. This publication will report what scientists are doing to increase the production of rice in as much as this crop feeds the most densely populated and land scarce nations in the world.

Although patient engagement in research is widely touted as an important foundation for improving the relevance and sustainability of research findings, there is little consensus on how to do it in practice. This article describes our research team’s experiences working with and engaging parents throughout the entire research process to reach full partnership in the identification, management, and dissemination of research. Our report of these experiences includes lessons learned along the way regarding how healthcare and research organizations can better support researchers and patients to ac

Research on superheavy elements enables probing the limits of nuclear existence and provides a fertile ground to advance our understanding of the atom’s structure. However, experimental access to these atomic species is very challenging and often requires the development of new technologies and experimental techniques optimized for the study of a single atomic species. The Laser Resonance Chromatography (LRC) technique was recently conceived to enable atomic structure investigations in the region of the superheavy elements. Here, we give an update on the experimental progress and simulation re

AbstractThe IOM report ‘Improving Diagnosis in Health Care’ represents a major advance in summarizing the problem of diagnostic error. Three new concepts in the report will be helpful in future efforts to understand and improve the diagnostic process: a new definition of diagnostic error, a new framework for understanding the diagnostic process, and a new concept of the diagnostic ‘team’. This paper highlights these new concepts and their relevance to improving diagnosis.

We present a field report of the CTU-CRAS-NORLAB team from the Subterranean Challenge (SubT) organized by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The contest seeks to advance technologies that would improve the safety and efficiency of search-andrescue operations in GPS-denied environments. During the contest rounds, teams of mobile robots have to find specific objects while operating in environments with limited radio communication, e.g., mining tunnels, underground stations or natural caverns.
