Abstract:
Air is a natural environment for spores of many genera and species of fungi. Despite its small size and a significant dispersion they have a great impact on human health and different areas of our activities, such as agricultural production. The study on spores of fungi that belong to aeroplankton or bioaerosole is called aeromycology. The most frequent fungi present in the air are Cladosporium and Alternaria species. Their numbers are abundant regardless of latitude and height above the sea level and above the ground. They mostly originate from agricultural environment. Other frequently liste

The work contains the analysis of Ambrosia pollen producing seasons in the atmosphere of Upper Silesia in the years 1998 - 2004. The research was carried out applying a volumetric method (Burkard pollen sampler) in Sosnowiec and the gravimetric method, for comparative purposes, in Sosnowiec, Będzin, Czeladź and Katowice. The highest pollen concentration in the research years was found in Sosnowiec and in 1999 in Czeladź. The ambrosia pollen in aeroplankton was noticed in the first ten days of August until the middle of October. The maximum pollen concentrations were from 16

The course of the Artemisia pollen season was recorded in Lublin over a period of five years: 2001-2005. The volumetric method was applied in the studies, using a VPPS 2000 Lanzoni trap. The length of the season was determined by the 98% method. The impact of several meteorological factors on the start and course of the pollen season was analysed. It was found that in the five-year period studied the mugwort pollen season started in the second or third decade of July and lasted 59-90 days. In Europe Ambrosia is included in invasive species. Its pollen contains very strong allergens that can be the cause of pollinosis at the turn of summer and autumn. The aim of the present study was to compare Ambrosia pollen concentrations in the air of Lublin and Lviv and to analyse the effect of weather conditions on Ambrosia pollen content in the air. The study was carried out in 2011 and 2012. In Lublin the volumetric method was applied using a Lanzoni VPPS 2000 trap, whereas in Lviv the gravimetric method was applied using a Du

Alternaria spores are known to be potent aeroallergens and their concentrations in the air are strongly dependent on meteorological factors. There are many articles from different parts of the world about relationships between Alternaria spore count and weather parameters. Xanthium strumarium (common cocklebur) pollen grains are included in allergenic types. During a three-year study (2003-2005) conducted by using the gravimetric method at two trap sites in Lublin, daily concentrations, maximum concentrations and annual sums of pollen grains, as well as the length of pollen seasons of this species were compared. The pollen season of common cocklebur starts in the first or second decade of July and lasts until the third decade of September. The length of the pollen season is 70-80 days. Similarly to fungal spores and pollen grains, pteridophytic spores can cause allergies in humans. Pteridophyta spore concentrations in the air of Lublin, under the conditions of central-eastern Poland, were first studied over the period 2013–2014. The volumetric method was used in this study. The research showed that that spores of ferns belonging to the following genera: Asplenium, Athyrium, Blechnum, Botrychium, Cystopteris, Dryopteris, Matteuccia, Osmunda, Polypodium and Pteridium, occur in aeroplankton. This paper presents an analysis of airborne biogenic particles (1 mkm–1 mm) found in the snow in several cities of the Russian Far East during 2010–2013. The most common was vegetational terraneous detritus (fragments of tree and grass leaves) followed by animal hair, small insects and their fragments, microorganisms of aeroplankton, and equivocal biological garbage. Specific components were found in samples from locations close to bodies of water such as fragments of algae and mollusc shells and, marine invertebrates (needles of sea urchins and shell debris of arthropods).
