Full textThe movement of global markets towards convergence to international accounting standards, with the goal of providing a single uniform language to the financial statements, has challenged the status quo of preparers and users of accounting information. This is due to the adoption of accounting standards guided by principles rather than rules that strive for substance over form and for the analysis of risks and benefits over legal ownership, which requires a deeper understanding and better interpretation of the transactions being reflected in the financial statements. Thus, the objective of this dissertation is to present, based on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory framework inherent to the public services industry, a proposal for the accounting recognition of the concession arrangement of a power distribution company through the application of IFRIC 12 - Service Concession Arrangements. To this end, an initial analysis of the introduction of concession service contracts as an instrument of delegation of public service providing by the State to the private sector and the legal concepts inherent in this relationship was performed. Next, the process on the convergence of international standards around the world and in Brazil and a detailed study of the principles related to the recognition of the concession contracts for public services was addressed. Finally, a proposed model was developed for the accounting recognition of a concession arrangement based on the financial statements for the years ended 2008 and 2009. This proposal concludes that the model adheres to the IFRS requirements and that, although operationally complex and relevant for the financial statements presentation, IFRIC 12 does not bring significant impacts from an economic perspective, and reflects true accounting essence of contracts concession for public services in Brazil.

Full textNowadays, in the field of nanomedecine, the major challenge is to design multifunctional nanomaterials in order to improve diagnosis and treatment efficiency. In this context, our work has concerned the conception of hybrid Au@SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles combining the photothermal properties of the gold core and the drug delivery function associated with the inorganic porous network. The entrance pore functionalization with gatekeepers leads finally to mecanized nanosystems. The first part of the work has concerned the core material synthesis (hollow gold nanoparticles called « nanoshells ») which has been achieved by a galvanic replacement reaction. The influence of synthesis parameters on the structure, the morphology and on the optical properties has been studied. Moreover, the analysis of a nanoparticle cross-section by XPS and AES has evidenced the formation of a heterogeneous Ag-Au alloy. Then, the growth of a mesoporous silica shell on the metal cores has been conducted leading to Au@SiO2 nanomaterials. After demonstrating the potential of these core-shell nanoparticles for hosting molecules, the nano-objects have been functionalized with supramolecular nanovalves based on a diaminoalkoxysilane (grafted on the silica surface) interacting with a macrocycle. The combination of XPS and NMR allowed us to characterize precisely the functionalization. In a last section, we have been interested in the design of biocompatible systems with the elaboration of a hybrid polymer/silica shell. The in vitro effect and interaction of nanoparticles with HaCaT cells have been studied; the first results have demonstrated a real interest for using poly-L-lysine in these systems. This original study offers new details about the physico-chemical characterization of nanostructured systems which highlights the important role of interfaces in hybrid materials. The perspectives will concern the optimization of the synthesized nanosystems for direct nanomedicine applications

_______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The present work analyzed the mercury concentration levels in fishes of the South Pantanal – Mato Grosso do Sul. Two types of tissues (brain and muscle) of different species had been analyzed. The main analyzed species were Pygocentrus nattereri, Piaractus mesopotamicus, Prochilodus lineatus and Schizodom Borelli, that respectively belong to the following trophic levels: piscivorous, omnivorous, detritivorous and herbivorous. The samples were collected from March 2003 to July 2006 in Miranda and Aquidauana rivers, where there is not any register of mercury environmental pollution. The average concentration of Hg in muscle was 61.8 ng/g for piscivorous, 11.5 ng/g for omnivorous, 13.7 ng/g for detritivorous and 15.4 ng/g for herbivorous, but the last three values were statistically equal. For the brain, the concentration of Hg was of 70.8; 54.1; 57.8 and 49.7 ng/g (statistically equal) for piscívoros, omnivorous, detritivorous and herbivorous, respectively. It was not observed any significant correlation between the mercury concentration in the tissues and the biometrical data, either for the mercury concentration between two tissues. The mercury concentration in the brain indicated to be higher than the mercury concentration in the muscle for the Piaractus mesopotamicus, Prochilodus lineatus and Schizodom borelli species and statistically equal for Pygocentrus nattereri species.
