Abstract: Plastic garbage is the world's third-largest waste source, posing a threat to human health and the environment. Because of their outstanding barrier properties, stiffness, tensile strength, and rip strength, petrochemical plastics have long been used as packaging materials. Abstract:
Most of the world produced biopesticides are made by entomopathogenic bacteria B. thuringiensis. So, searching for new strains of it is always necessary. In 2006, the strain B. thuringiensis 0428 was isolated from the caterpillar of the ringed silkworm. The strain 0428 is entomopathogenic against Colorado beetle larvae. The effectiveness of the strain for 5 days was 100%. On beef-extract agar this Gram-positive bacterium formed round or irregular colonies with an average diameter of 6-10 mm. The relief of the colonies is flat; the surface is matte. Colonies of B. thuringiensis 0428 are fast-gr

Gingivitis is one of the most common oral disorders and is caused by the accumulation of plaque in people with poor oral hygiene. The purpose of this study is to detect Staphylococcus aureus biofilm producers in cases of gingivitis and detect their biofilm genes. During the months of November 2018 and February 2019, a sample of fifty patients diagnosed clinically with gingivitis were collected from the laboratory of the Faculty of Dentistry at Hawler Medical University. Using the traditional culture method and vitek 2, eleven S. aureus bacteria isolates were identified. Using the Congo red aga

"PAMAM Dendrimers as anti-HER2 Positive Breast Cancer Treatment." In Qatar University Annual Research Forum & Exhibition. Qatar University Press, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.29117/quarfe.2020.0176.

Abstract:
Background: Poly (amidoamine) dendrimers (PAMAMs) are widely used in drug delivery systems and gene transfection as drug carriers. They also exert several biological effects like modulating gene expression, particularly EGFR (ErbB1) signaling pathway, which raises the question of whether these polymers can also inhibit the phosphorylation of HER2 (ErbB2) in breast cancer. However, this area hasn’t been investigated before. Methods: In this study, we evaluated the anticancer effects of different generations and surface chemistries of PAMAMs on HER2 positive breast cancer cells (SkBr3 and ZR-75

We conducted experiments to decipher the interplays among bacterial motility, surface stiffness of culture medium, and growth of colony when bacteria grow on semi-solid substrate. We observed the growth kinetics of two kinds of bacteria, swarming Escherichia coli (E.coli) and gliding Myxococcus Xanthus (M.xanthus), grown on semi-solid agar substrates with different stiffness. The colony of M.xanthus moved by traction force on the surface shows a tendency to grow larger on soft substrate. The colony of E.coli using flagella shows a similar tendency in the early phase but later grows smaller on

Abstract:
Most of the existing MRI guided robotic needle guide systems have been limited to research purposes and have not progressed towards clinical applications due to complex and bulky structures. The ‘device-to-image’ registration step further complicates the operation and significantly increases the overall procedure time. To address limitations, we developed an MRI guided transperineal prostate biopsy guide system that uses the concept of a ‘fixed coordinate device’ to simplify the overall biopsy procedure and eliminate the registration step, making the procedure more clinically friendly. Due to the overuse of antibiotics, antibiotic resistance has become a global health crisis, and has forced an exploration of alternative antibacterial agents. This review explores natural solutions through the antibacterial potential of medicinal plants and their symbiotic endophytic fungi. Medicinal plants have been utilized for centuries to treat infections because of their rich phytochemical content, including alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins, which exhibit antibacterial properties. Their efficacy is measured through minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assays, which showcase their abi

Abstract:
The last decade has seen increasing recognition by policymakers, capital providers, and finance practitioners of the vital role played by agricultural small- and medium-sized enterprises (agri-SMEs) in agricultural and food systems in developing countries, as well as their key challenge of limited access to finance. New lexicon has entered the mainstream to capture this recognition, with terms such as the "hidden middle" being introduced by a 2019 AGRA report to highlight the critical role of agri-SMEs in growing markets and their concurrent lack of access to finance and supporting services.
