Rhododendron delavayi Franch. is an important ornamental plant and often plays a role in natural hybridization with other sympatric species in Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes. Fifteen microsatellite loci were developed and characterized in this species. The average allele number of these microsatellites was four per locus, ranging from three to six. The ranges of expected (HE) and observed (HO) heterozygosities were 0.0365 to 0.7091 and 0.0263 to 0.9512, respectively. Cross-species amplification in R. agastum and R. decorum showed that a subset of these markers holds promise for congeneric s

Anisotropy in arrival directions of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays offers the most direct way to search for the sources of these particles. We present estimates of the angular correlation in the HiRes sample of stereo events above 1019 eV, and in the combined sample of HiRes and AGASA events above 4 × 1019 eV .

The energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays with ultra-high energies based on the Yakutsk EAS Array data is presented. For the largest events values of S600 and axis coordinates have been obtained using revised lateral distribution function. The effect of the arrival time distribution at several axis distance on estimated density for Yakutsk and AGASA is considered.

Abstract:
We examine the correlation between compact radio quasars (redshifts in the range z=0.3–2.2) and the arrival direction of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays forming clusters. Our Monte Carlo simulation reveals a statistically significant correlation on the AGASA sample: the chance probability of this effect being less than 1%. The implications of this result on the origin of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays are discussed.

Abstract:
We show that the cascade limit on ultra high energy cosmic neutrino (UHECν) flux imposes a lower bound on the neutrino mass, provided that super-GZK events of ultra high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) are produced from Z-bursts. Based on data from HiRes and AGASA, the lower bound obtained on neutrino mass violates its existing cosmological upper bound. We conclude that Z-bursts cannot be the dominant source for the observed super-GZK UHECR events. This is consistent with the recent ANITA-lite data.
