Full textThis thesis deals with multicriteria auctions in electronic commerce. Our research aims to design an auction system that addresses the shortcomings of the existing works. We propose a multicriteria auction system based on reference points that makes easier the preference expression and insures an auction convergence toward the buyer preferences as well as a control on each attribute of the item and a non compensatory aggregation logic. In our work, we combined two disciplines Decision Aid and Multiagent Systems. Decision aid theory allowed us to define the system key components : a preference model, an aggregation model and a counterproposal mechanism. Multiagent systems are particularly adapted to our issue thanks to the autonomous, personalized and rational character of the agents. These characteristics allow agents to represent faithfully human actors on the web and to act on their behalf. In this thesis, we highlight the properties of the proposed multicriteria auctions and we propose an experimental validation of our system

Full textThe spread of information technologies (IT) and the growth of the electronic commerce modified the way in which the companies function, forcing them to adopt flexible structures and to produce more efficiently. This research is interested in the part played by new technologies in the setting-up of recommendation systems and information search systems which tend on many markets to control the commercial trades. More precisely, our main objective is to contribute to a better understanding of the recommendation systems by comparing physical economy and electronic commerce. This thesis can contribute to the comprehension of the changes generated in this field by the use of the electronic commerce and to the development of “intelligent” substitutes to the processes currently used. By doing this, we contribute to the emergence of a new face of electronic commerce on Internet by identifying a series of psychological and economic variables which play an important part in the manner in which the economic agents, in particular the companies, act and react. Our main objectives throughout this thesis are to answer to the following questions: Which is the part played by the recommendation systems in the formation of preferences and which is the efficiency of this type of systems? Do the specific characteristics of Internet as an economic environment modify the answers to the previous question? Are the competitiveness factors of the companies on the “new economy” different from those of the traditional economy? Which are the opportunities associated with the electronic commerce, in particular through the “shopbots” which tend to become a “hard” part of the recommender systems?

Full textChildren with Autism are confronted with difficulties related to perception and construction temporal, which directly impact their everyday life on Learning. The use of planning paper supports is common for accompanying them in order to anticipate future events and limit their anxieties. The use of a digital agenda application associated with a visual timer is proposed to overcome these planning difficulties. This study aims at identifying the process of appropriation of the digital tool of the investigators then analysis of the effects of the use of this tool on the development of the socio-cognitive skills of the userschildren. To what extent does the appropriation of a digital program does it promote access to new learning or leisure activities and how is it being built? This research took place near of five children with autism aged 6 to 12 years and hosted in the specialized institution. Semi-directional interviews were conducted with the nine professionals and the five parents. These data were the subject of a thematic analysis. In addition, each week, and for one year, a filmed session was held with the child and the professional to highlight the evolution of the children’s behavior over the months. The analysis of these data is carried out using a single statistical analysis tool: Tau-U. The results indicate an appropriation of digital support by professional experts from the first months of the experiment. In addition, using the çATED application with children helps to maintain cognitive availability, reduce the frequency of challenging behaviors, develop non-verbal communication that promotes interaction with others, and enrich interactions within the dyad : professional - child

Full textThe growth of online sales of physical products demonstrates the interest of suppliers for the adoption of B2C e-commerce as an alternative distribution channel to the conventional retail channel. The benefits of B2C are promoted not only by the scientific literature but also by practically grounded professional literature. In fact, Web stores complemented conventional Brick-and-Mortar retail shops, allowing e-vendors to access a wide geographical range of e-consumers through the Internet. On the consumer side, accessing products at any time and home delivery enhance their shopping experience, notably through time and fuel savings. This common vision of B2C distribution benefits considers only «the visible face of the iceberg», confined to the ordering process and the last-mile delivery. In this thesis, we are interested in investigating the impacts of e-commerce distribution over a larger scope that encompasses the entire distribution system of e-vendors. In fact, the complexity of their multi-actor operational environment challenges their ability to manage their distribution operations in a sustainable way, while ensuring ever quicker deliveries to their e-consumers. Moreover, B2C distribution systems inherit the inefficiency symptoms observed through the current logistics environment. Besides, the concept of the Physical Internet (PI or π) enabled hyperconnected distribution is a priori a candidate alternative that allows e-vendors to improve their performance, in contrast with current B2C distribution approaches. Through an exploratory study, this thesis investigates the impacts of a PI-enabled hyperconnected distribution on the sustainable potential of e-vendors, in contrast with current B2C distribution options. To this end, case studies based on multi-agent simulations were developed for modeling e-vendor distribution scenarios, inspired by actual data from our industrial partner South Shore Industries. Through the use of key performance indicators (KPIs), we gradually assessed e-vendor performance starting from the drop-ship distribution approach. Then, we assessed a dynamic B2C deployment approach in the current logistics environment then in a PI-enabled context. The first contribution of this thesis is to close the theoretical gap between research and practice in terms of modeling integrated B2C distribution systems. The second contribution is the development of a generic multi-agent conceptual model for B2C distribution scenario simulations. The third contribution is the proposal of an integrated consolidation based distribution approach allowing e-vendors to improve their performances, while globally reducing e-consumer order delivery times, within a drop-ship distribution based approach. The fourth contribution is the proposal of an e-vendor dynamic inventory balancing model. The last contribution confirms through a simulation-based experiment, that a PI-enabled hyperconnected distribution leverages the sustainable potential of e-vendors.

Full textThis research can be seen as a macroscopic approach to a large-scale distributed data gathering. We propose a software architecture to monitor elderly or dependent people in their own house. Many studies have been done on hardware aspects resulting in operational products. But there is a lack of adaptive algorithms to handle all the data generated by these products, because such data is distributed and heterogeneous in a large scale environment. We propose a multi-agent classification method to collect and to aggregate data about activity, movements and physiological information of the monitored people: agent's know-how consists in a simple classification algorithm. Data generated at this local level are communicated and adjusted between agents to obtain a set of patterns. This data is dynamic; the system has to store the built patterns and has to create new patterns when new data is available. Therefore, the system is adaptive and can be spread on a large scale. The generated data is used at a local level, for example to raise an alert, but also to evaluate global risks. We present the specification choices and the massively multi-agent architecture we developed
Vlachou, Charikleia. "La coopération entre les autorités de régulation en Europe (communications électroniques, énergie)." Thesis, Paris 2, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA020055/document.
Full textThe cooperation among regulatory authorities in the field of electronic communications and energy takes place against the background of the transformation of the european administration in the last two decades. Its institutional design bears the mark of the europeanisation of regulators through the harmonisation brought about by EU law and the diffusion of best practices. The cooperation among regulatory authorities is formalised on the basis of a primary law that is vague. It is also marked by ambiguity with regard to the delegation of pouvoirs on a European level. In the sectors of energy and electronic communications, it reflects the « hybrisation » of two models of governance, European agencies and networks, giving birth to a powerful « network agency » in the field of energy-the ACER- and a weak « agenciarised network » in the field of electronic communications- the BEREC. The control of the acts of these two organisms in a « Union of law » is ensured by the Cour of justice of the European Union which is, however, difficult to accessfor individuals. In this context, the European Ombudsman demonstrates a real potential as a complementary forum of control. Against a priori hypotheses with respect to the democratic deficit of the European Union, the European Parliament effectively ensures the democratic control of ACER and BEREC. Even if its means of political control are largelyinformal and should be better defined, the control it exercices in the context of the budgetary discharge procedure is capable of transforming the institutional design of the above mentioned organisms

Full textOxidative stress is associated with many human pathologies such as neurodegenerative diseases. Nitrones are antioxidants able to protect the cells against oxidative stress-induced damage in in vitro and in vivo models. They are also able to react with free radicals to form a persistent nitroxide spin adduct, detectable by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. They have thus been widely used as analytical probes to study the radical processes occurring in biochemical environments. In this thesis work, we focused on the α-phenyl-N-tert-butyl nitrone (PBN), a linear nitrone with good spin-trapping properties as well as protective activity in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases. The aim of this work was to study the impact of the nature, the position and the number of substituents on both sides of the nitronyl function (phenyl ring and N-tert-butyl part) on the properties of the nitrone and to improve its activity. Different series of PBN-type nitrones were thus synthesized and their spin-trapping ability towards hydroxymethyl radical (CH2OH), as well as their electrochemical and neuroprotective properties were evaluated. It emerges from this study that the introduction of an electron-withdrawing group in the para position of the phenyl ring or in the N-tert-butyl part improves the trapping capacities of the nucleophilic radical •CH2OH. In contrast, the functionalization of PBN with an electron-donating substituent tends to decrease its spin-trapping ability. When substituents are introduced both in the para position of the phenyl ring and in the N-tert-butyl function, the effects go in the same direction without completely adding up. In contrast, the influence of substituents on the neuroprotection of nitrones could not be identified. Finally, nitrones with promising trapping and/or neuroprotective activities were identified

Full textConstant threats of terrorism require the development of tools to effectively detect chemical warfare agents. The aim of this work was to develop a mass spectrometer capable of performing rapid LC/ESI-MS and GC/EI-MS analyses on samples from all states: solid, liquid and gaseous. The first part of this work was to study the principle of operation of the linear ion trap LTQ Velos, then to study axial and radial ion injection in the linear ion trap by means of computer simulation using SIMION. The feasibility of performing radial ion injection has been demonstrated, thus in specific applications in which the central axis needs to be released, the IRMPD activation mode may be considered. A second part of this work was to adapt the existing ETD module to accommodate EI. Three EI sources (the Thermo, the NERMAG and the trap source) were studied to determine which one would be the most effective and offer a good compromise in terms of cost and development time. The Thermo source has been selected and modified to conduct EI within the ETD module of the LTQ Velos which was interfaced to a fast GC (Heracles II). Preliminary tests characterized the dual pressure ion trap as a mass analyzer for performing rapid GC/MS analyses. The results showed that the GC-LIT with its high scanning speed was able to provide sufficient scans across chromatographic peaks when working in both the conventional and the fast GC modes, and further offered good EI spectral information. This GC/MS was then implemented into the demonstrator as well as the air sampler and the TIC/POC detector. Conclusive preliminary tests have been made on this demonstrator

Full textSeveral stages of the infection process of Xanthomonas campestris pv. Manihotis , were studied using in vitro plantlets as well as stem callus tissue and sectionned leaves. Two strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. Manihotis, agressive and non-agressive, were compared on 5 varieties of cassava presenting different levels of resistance under field conditions. Statistical analysis revealed that bacterial implantation differed significantly according to which of the two strains was used, whichever mode!applied, in vitro plantlets, callus tissue or sectionned leaves. The association agressive strain in vitro plantlet results in symptoms similar to those observe upon infection under field conditions. Only one variety out of the 5 tested, variety 30555, presented a different type of reaction to the agressive strain. However, the absence of symptoms with the non-agressive strain was correlated with the failure to colonize internai organs for the 5 varieties tested in vitro. S. E. M. Observations were used for further observation of the adhesion and growth patterns of the bacterial strains as well as plant tissue reaction. In the second part of this study, the existence of plasmids was revealed in a collection of 54 strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. Manihotis differing by their geographical origin, biochemical caracteristics and pathogenicity. Plasmid type was correlated with lysogenic caracteristics a s well as with pathogenicity. Full textThe increasing of competition, expanding markets and advanced technology create shorten lifecycle and the development process to improve product performance in terms of time, cost and quality. These shorten products lifecycle have led to increase volumes of waste generation and consequence impact to environment. EU directives have been introduced, such as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) and guidelines for the treatment of waste batteries (Battery), these directives are used to handle the hazardous substances which are harmful to human health and the environment. These regulations and standards have been put in place to force companies take their responsibilities on managing their products when reach to the end of life. Some companies have found that the returned product can be recycled or reused as an additional source of income (material recycling, or reuse of components after disassembly) in the manufacturing process.Knowledge related to the environmental performance (in terms of process design, production, transportation, storage, etc.) should be captured, evaluated and stored in knowledge base in order to share between users in different phases of the product lifecycle. Therefore, this research proposes a Knowledge Management Architecture based on a Multi-Agent System approach. The objective of this work is to propose a system that focuses on the concept of "sustainability” of products lifecycle by establishing the link between agents, who hold knowledge related to the environmental performances, and PLM system. The connection encourages companies considering the environmental impacts in their decision making at every stage of product lifecycle

However, instead of disciplining opportunistic behaviours, this device can generate hidden costs and reduce the intrinsic motivation of agents to perform an activity that has been assigned to them. Under certain conditions, it generates a reduction of the outcome, and a loss in terms of allocation, which is detrimental to efficiency. In this Ph.D. thesis, we conducted three randomized controlled field trials that aimed at modifying the configurations of the information check device to solve an organizational problem specific to three specific agency relationships. In our first chapter, we tested the effect of varying the amount of information held by contributors on the social reporting verification device through targeted messages containing explanations of the control power of the Agence centrale des organisations de sécurité sociale (Acoss) in order to reduce social fraud. In our second chapter, we tested the reduction in the intensity of the electronic monitoring of the performance of advisors of an outsourced call centre in order to improve their quality of life at work. Finally, in our third chapter, we tested the effect of the contractual negotiation of the device which evaluate the participation of undergraduate students during the tutorials in order to improve their success at the university

Full textMost retailers strive to reach the omni-channel ideal in order to meet new market requirements (i.e. evolution of consumer behavior and competition standards). In this study, we seek to understand how multi-/cross-channel retailers transform into omni-channel, from an organizational point of view. Beyond the technological aspect (e.g. modernization of information systems and logistics), we investigate the cultural dimension of the change in “historical” actors (e.g. overhaul of processes and ways of thinking inside organizations and among their members). First, we explore the emergence of omni-channel and outline the cultural change that it requires; then, we investigate organizational culture as a means to achieving such cultural change; finally, when formulating marketing strategy, we propose storytelling as an internal marketing approach with collaborators, who are often the first recipients of change. We conduct multiple case studies to explore the narrative of change whilst favoring the emergence and deployment of an “omni-channel culture”. Our findings show confluent results about the way retailers change and tell this story. Their narrative reveal a shared “storytailing”, shaping the premises of a “cultural revolution” in retailing. It is reflected in the proposition of a widened conception of omni-channel through “omni-commerce” and a wish for retailers to define their agency

Full textWith the arrival of cloud computing technology, game accessibility and ubiquity havea bright future. Games can be hosted in a centralize server and accessed through theInternet by a thin client on a wide variety of devices with modest capabilities: cloudgaming. Some of the advantages of using cloud computing in game context includes:device ubiquity, computing exibility, affordable cost and lowered set up overheads andcompatibility issues. However, current cloud gaming systems have very strong requirementsin terms of network resources, thus reducing their widespread adoption. In factdevices with little bandwidth and people located in area with limited network capacity, cannot take advantage of these cloud services. In this thesis we present an adaptationtechnique inspired by the level of detail (LoD) approach in 3D graphics. It is based ona cloud gaming paradigm in other to maintain user's quality of experience (QoE) byreducing the impact of poor network parameters (delay, loss, bandwidth) on game interactivity. Our first contribution consist of game models expressing game objects and theircommunications needs represented by their importance in the game. We provided twodifferent ways to manage objects' importance using agents organizations and gameplaycomponents. We then provided a level of detail approach for managing network resourcedistribution based on objects importance in the game scene and network conditions. Weexploited the dynamic objects importance adjustment models presented above to proposeLoD systems adapting to changes during game sessions. The experimental validation ofboth adaptation models showed that the suggested adaptation minimizes the effects oflow and/or unstable network conditions in maintaining game responsiveness and player'sQoE

Full textThe vasopressin V1bR and serotonin 5HT3R receptors play important physiological roles in the detection of extracellular signals, in the mechanisms for neuronal transmission, and in various pathologies including cancer, diabetes, and CNS and PNS diseases. My studies were aimed at generating or finding peptidic modulators of these two receptors. For the V1bR, I developed several antibodies of the VHH type and characterized them biochemically and functionally. One of these VHHs acts as a complete allosteric agonist specific for the human V1bR (hV1bR). In vitro this VHH is able to activate the signaling pathways of inositol phosphate and MAP kinases and to induce the internalization of hV1bR. In pancreatic islets overexpressing hV1bR, it induces an increase in intracellular Ca2+ and a secretion of insulin. For the 5HT3R, using SPR I screened 31 snake venoms on immobilized recombinant receptors and for one of these venoms, evidenced an interaction. Following purification by liquid chromatography and identification by mass spectrometry, I identified a toxin previously characterized as an enzyme with Ca2+-dependent activity. This toxin interacts with the 5HT3R A and AB independently of Ca2+ and with Kd values ≤ 10 nM. Functional analysis by electrophysiology suggests that it acts as a PAM of the 5HT3R channel activity. Images recorded by negative staining EM show that the toxin binds to the 5HT3R extracellular domain, at a distance from the 5HT binding site. Both this VHH and this toxin could be used as pharmacological tools and / or therapeutic agents

Full textTechno is a music genre known by a part of Electronic music fans. However it exists a huge lack of context about it. In some French scientific books of those last fifteen years, you will find condescendingly musicological explanations or a sociological approach only linked to rave scenes in Europe. In an anthropological perspective, it is necessary to focus on local background which established the construction of this term surrounded by myths. So, you have to go to Detroit : land of "the origins" of techno where trajectories of electronic music winds between musics, locations, territories and multiple values. (Re)starting to a human and local point of view, this is being in contact with individuals and communities which show solidarity with techno music aspects. This is analyzing current events about Detroit techno through participating observation of young DJs ‘life. Also this is wondering how artists from 1980’s to today professionalized their career and how they impact on culture, arts, education and politics in Detroit. In this way, you see techno or technos’ worlds interacting, speeches developing and limits rising. It finally depicts a dynamic and clear picture of Detroit – we ignore

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to improve the electrochemical performance of C/MnO2 asymmetric devices by elaborating manganese oxides exhibiting nano- or mesostructures. Two preparation methods are proposed. A mesoporous material is obtained through the reaction of soft template CTAP with various A alkenes. The effect of CTAP-A colloidal solution on MnO2 texture and microstructure has been studied by establishing the relationship between aggregates dimension and pore diameter. Asymmetric devices performances can be optimized this way. Attempts to employ AAO as hard template for developing a performant MnO2 electrode were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, a MnO2 microelectrode containing the oxide on nickel nanowires electrodeposited on AAO provided excellent electrochemical performances, comparable with current microsupercapacitor electrodes. Asymmetric device energy retention with increasing power is good due to the excellent MnO2/nickel nanowires connection. This thesis offers insights on the MnO2 formation and proposes promising microelectrodes for microsupercapacitors

And what role does the banking SI, including the SI business processes with respect to the E—Banking? We position ourselves in the field of research assessment based on the theory of resources, process- based approach and the ISSM model. 161 heads of agencies, working in ten Tunisian banks have valued the assets, values (usage and exchange) of their IT as well as the functionality of the E-banking. Measurement tools have been developed and validated: E—banking functionality, asset quality IS (information services and computer system), the values of IS (usage: GRC and Marketing & sales; exchange with: customers, suppliers and partners). Our five-step process approach provides a good explanation of our latent constructs: active IS usage values, exchange values, IS contribution to individual and organizational performance). Our structural model explains 17% of the performance of the agencies with GoF 46%. The links between the E-Banking features and bank IS raises several dilemmas for which future research should be able to respond
