Full textIn the past years several companies have reached great success by transcending to an agile way to work. The agile methods were developed as an opposite reaction to a more static project management and the agile spokesmen claim that better results can be reached through more mobile methods. Even though the agile methods mainly have been used in software development it has been discovered that it can be useful in several businesses, not least in marketing teams and content agencies. The following thesis contains a study in agile project management at a content agency. Today the agency practices the agile methods in one of their projects but wishes to implement it in several projects. The study aims to answer what advantages and disadvantages the agile methods bring to a content agency, and give suggestions on which agile methods the agency could implement. Further suggestions will be given on what web based project tools the agency can use to ease their daily work with agile project management. The thesis has a qualitative approach and 14 semi-structured interviews have been conducted on the agencies employees. Further participating observations has been carried through and literature studies consisting relevant former studies have been collected.

Full textDuring this study the authors had an assignment from a client which was creating a new Agile project methodology for the client, to promote their work on the project they undertake annually, named Jobb Shop. The project had during the last execution not been implemented by means of a specific project methodology. During this process the authors of this study created a specific agile methodology for the client that they can use in future years in the implementation of Jobb Shop. Alongside this, the authors also did a meta-analysis of the new method in which they studied how the new agile method, theoretically, can promote creativity and innovation. The results of the study showed that the theoretical basis for the above question was good, and they concluded that agile methods, theoretically, may well promote creativity and innovation.

Full textThe purpose of this study was to explore the agile way of working in practice, to provide an increased understanding of the agile journey. In order to be able to answer “what is the experience of working agile”, semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine project participants from nine different organizations. Collected material has been analyzed trough a thematic analysis and formed four themes; agile glasses, the team before the self, the way is knowledge and do not disturb my circles. The study shows that the agile approach has a larger perspective than it’s the theories and models where the corporate culture is perceived as particularly important. The culture needs to breathe curiosity, transparency, participation and commitment. Through this, an agile way of working can be promoted, which release tools for employees to act agile in their work. A charismatic and committed leader who acts as an archetype together with a connected team creates the best conditions for active collaboration. It is important to have an understanding that the agile way of working is experienced as challenging and difficult to orientate oneself in, where time, adaptation and knowledge become keys to success. The agile methods should be seen as guidance and helpers in achieving their goals. Therefore, it is important to understand that they often need to be adapted to the project, team and customer. The agile way of working is not a miracleway and it is important to have an understanding that the agile journey takes time. Key words: project management, agile, agile working, communication, team
