It has been focused on the researches of aging process these years for all circles to make the elder live a healthy and happy life smoothly in old age. Grace’s denotation is elegent, grateful, benevolent, and charming. In the past, western literatures in the aging field discussed only to focus on the successful individuals, but, nowadays, the aspects we pursue should be on high quality society system and services. This study attempts to investigate elderly care service needs in traditional filial piety culture based on graceful aging framework, simultaneously, it analyzes whether current community service models could achieve the goal to be consistent with graceful aging. The main purposes of this research are: (1) To study elderly community service patterns based on the traditional filial piety according to the framework of graceful aging. (2) To study elderly service models based on the community service. (3) To discuss whether the models of the current community service could be satisfied with the service needs in accord with the definition of graceful aging. This work was based on reviewing literatures from 1970 to 2015 to to find out the patterns and characteristics of community service, and the needs of graceful aging. Through the combination of the government , the community , the folk enterprises ,and the medical systems, as well as the security of long-term care insurance , pension system , and filial piety, we can develop a series of graceful social services system. This makes the elder possess healthy body and mind, smooth economy, social involvement, knowledge-pursuing and live a independent life. In addition, they can use what they have learned to contribute themselves to the society to enjoy the high-quality , healthy, glorious, dignified life . This study aims at developing the Graceful Aging construct and studies its determinants among the elders in Taiwan. With an increase on global life expectancy, aging population has become a reality and often causes a new challenge socially and economically. Scholars have examined the issues on how to achieve Successful Aging in elder life as an attempt to mitigate any risks and negative disruption caused by aging in the productivity and economic development. Rowe and Kahn (1987) had proposed the well-known Successful Aging model which emphasizes the balance of three components: absence of disease and disease-related disability, high functional capability and active engagement with life. This model focused on physical, psychological and social participation to access the state of successful aging. With well developed instruments, it has been widely applied to assess the quality of life for elders. However, with the advance of technology and the emerging of service innovation and economy (e.g, co-create, co-share, and experience-based), it has been reported that more and more elders are engaging as well as interacting with environmental stakeholders via various enablers and agencies. Applying this new trend, Wang etc. (2013) proposed a holistic view on assessing elder’s needs, the Graceful Aging, which refers to the fulfillment of elder needs in nine areas. Originated from traditional Chinese culture, it is claimed that Graceful Aging not only emphasizes the aging needs itself, but also includes the benefits and concerns deriving from external stakeholder and environment. In this study, a measurement tool to assess the Graceful Aging is proposed. The determinants on Graceful Aging are examined. In particular, four aspects (economic safety, healthy lifestyle, residential cares and recreational education) are explored by applying the survey data from Taiwan Longitudinal Study in Aging (TLSA). The major findings are shown as followed: 1. Generally, the elders have good physical and psychological health status. However, they aren’t satisfied with current life and lack of social participation. 2. The elders feel free from the pressure of family, work and economic problem. What is more, they are well taken of by their family physically and emotionally. However, the elders feel disregarded by family when making decision. 3. Demographic variables (including gender, age and education years) significantly influence the status of graceful aging. 4. Considering different demographic backgrounds, four aspects (economic safety, healthy lifestle, residential cares and recreational education) are significant related to the status of gracefull aging. According to the results of the study above, this study brings out some suggestions to institutions and future research.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the key influential factors for the elder employment issue and to intend to figure out the cause-effect relationship among this issue. According to the previous literature review, it is found that this issue hasn’t been explored in a systematic way despite many researches being done to deal with. However, those previous research were only examined in certain aspect of this issue. In this study, a new methodology which is called ‘multiple-stage interrelationship diagram’ is proposed. The proposed methodology is derived from the original interrelationship diagram and adopted the dynamic concept of convolutional neural network methodology. A three-stage analysis is then developed in this proposed methodology: the first stage is the argument collection and key argument identification; the second stage is the primary analysis; and the third stage is the advanced analysis. Based upon the three-stage analysis, the results reveal that ‘the coming of aging society’ and ‘the public policy’ are the two root causes to the barrier of the elder employment. The coming of aging society is an inevitable trend; however, the public policy has to be re-regulated by public policy makers to react to this change of the society. In addition, the private enterprise is also necessary to make job re-design and to concern the job safety for elder workers. The elder workers will have a higher quality of life as long as their physical and psychological health is well-taken care. The details of the research finding are further explained and discussed in the text.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the situation of young and middle-aged civil servants, teachers and police officers in Taipei area for Graceful Aging and Elderly Preparation. The research adopted questionnaire survey, the research tool is “Questionnaire for Graceful Aging and Elderly Preparation for young and middle-aged generations”. The subject are 388 civil servants, teachers and police officers in Taipei City and New Taipei City. Using the SPSS software, the data is analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Stepwise regression. The research results are summarized as follows: 1. The civil servants, teachers and police officers in Taipei area have highly cognition of Graceful Aging, and the middle-aged generation has a higher level of cognition than the youth. The young and middle-aged generations value on the highest level of "quality body and mind". 2. The frequencies for Elderly Preparation on the civil servants, teachers and police officers in Taipei area is above average and the middle-aged generation has a higher level of Preparation than the youth. The action for young and middle-aged generations is given priority by "interpersonal interaction". 3. "Gender" in the middle-aged , and "health status" in the young generation, were related factors have an impact on Graceful Aging. 4. "Economic status, health status" in the youth generation and "economic status" in the middle-aged, were related factors have an impact on Elderly Preparation. 5. The correlation between '' Graceful Aging'' and '' Elderly Preparation'' of civil servants, teachers and police officers in Taipei area is positive correlation. That is, the higher the awareness of Graceful Aging, the better the preparation for elder. 6. The civil servants, teachers and police officers' Graceful Aging has a positive prediction on Elderly Preparation. Among them, the ''Graceful Life'' has the strongest predictive power. 7.Based on the conclusions above, provide suggestions. Key word: young adults, middle-aged, Graceful Aging, Elderly Preparation
